I bought this game for my son and he absolutely loves it. He is 13 and has barely been off of the video game system since. He highly recommends it.

This game is so awesome! I mean it has great graphics and great gameplay. The only thing that sucks is that is is really rare. I had to have my parents go to a town about 50 miles away just to find a used copy! And it cost me $42 all together! Well, anyway... this game is awesome. The only problems I have with it is that there are only nine missions(they take a while though), when you use your guns you're in first person mode/ when you use your lightsaber you're in third person, and you have save frequently because if you don't and you die you either have to load your last save point or completely restart the level. Another bad thing, saving and loading takes forever! But other than that this game is awesome

INTRO: Jedi knight 2 is the 3rd installment of the Dark Forces Series. You return as Kyle Katarn and the help of some others friends to battle the Dark Side
THE GOOD: This game is perhaps the funnest game i own.The story mode is fantastic, and the the graphics and enviroments are stunning, but, for me the best part about this game is the Jedi Arena mode. It is eather multiplayer or single player and you can chose from a large varaity of players such as Kyle, Luke Skywalker, Stormtrooper, Lando Calarisian, and many many others. You can also chose from many diferent enviroments ranging from the death star to the Star Destroyer, and even the streets of Bespin.
THE BAD: There really isnt much bad to say about this game. The only bad things are that some of the puzzles are very hard and soemtimes when your stuck in one of the puzzles you feel like u just wanna blow up some stormtroopers. Also the first two levels u dont have the force or a lightsaber. It can also be a bit hard to figure out the controls because, after all, this game was ment for a PC.
OVERALL: Overall, this game was incredible and if you love star wars you will love this. By far the best installment in the Dark Forces Series.

I have no idea how but I managed to score a brand new copy for the GameCube for only 40 buck! And I will never sell my copy it rock so hard, the single player mode can be incredibly hard if you dont know what you are doing. But the multiplayer is insanely fun. and with this game becomeing harder to find every day I consider myself quite lucky. Here is a tip that I found quite usfull when hunting for this game. Go to gamestop, funcoland, gamecrazy, or EB games as early as possible on tuesdays. Because on tuesdays they put out all of the used games that they have collected over the week. I found that 100 percent of the stores I went to had a used copy of this game. So its really not that hard to find if you know were and when to look.
Not a spectacular port

Jedi Outcast originally started out as a PC game, an awesome one at that. In fact, it even won a few "Game of the Year," awards from different magazines and reviewers. Then, Vicarious Visions gets the rights to port it over to the GameCube and Xbox. As you will soon see, that transition from PC to GameCube was not very well done.
First, the good. The storyline is pretty good, if not a little shallow, and the sound is authentic and true to the Star Wars license. The puzzles are kind of cool and its fun to go back through the levels to see what different ways you can dispose of an enemy (should I chuck them off the cliff or should I choke them and use them as a shield.)
Now the bad. We'll start with the graphics. The graphics, even for 2002, aren't very well done. The game is very dark and it's hard to see where the heck you are going. Also, some of the environments are very "blah" and uninteresting. A few of the outdoor levels, like the end Yavin 4 levels, are pretty and detailed (rain will sizzle on your lightsaber) but really, the whole game should be like that. Also, there is a problem with framerates, especially in the multiplayer mode. If you get too many people on screen, you'll get considerable lag. Sometimes, the framerates will drop even without very many enemies onscreen. Doing tricks, like running along the wall, will also cause slowdown. The cutscenes use the in game engine are often full of artifacts(pixellations). You can even find artifacts in the few CG cutscenes.
Now for the controls. The controls are clunky at first, but you can generally get the hang of it. The GameCube controller, though, isn't very well adapted to rapid tapping of the shoulder buttons, but it works. Also, sometimes the controls are little slow to respond.
If I were to make this game better, I would make the controls more fluid, smooth out the graphics and add dynamic lighting, and I would make it so that the player actually felt like a true Jedi, which this game partially succeeded in. Overall, I give it a 7/10.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast. The third game in the Star Wars Dark Forces series.
INTRODUCTION:
I've pretty much always been a fan of Star Wars, and as you may have guessed, I'm a fan of many of the games based on the series. Although Star Wars games are often hit and miss, when one succeeds, it usually succeeds beautifully. One of the most interesting ideas for a Star Wars game was Dark Forces, released for the Playstation One and the PC. Although the game itself was horrendous, with a terribly-choppy framerate and very poor level design, it was something the world had never seen before - a Star Wars first-person shooter. The sequel, Jedi Knight, cleaned up a lot of the problems, and added in some new innovations. And now the third game in the series, Jedi Outcast, has arrived. Like previous games in this sub-series, it has gotten a multi-console release. Read on to see how it fares!
OVERVIEW:
Jedi Outcast is a Star Wars first-person shooter. The game has a one-player quest, as well as several different multiplayer modes.
REVIEW:
To put it simply, this game is everything the original Dark Forces should have been. While not perfect, this game is a huge improvement over its predecessors. Once again you play the role of Kyle Katarn, the agent from the other Dark Forces titles. The second Death Star has been destroyed, but many Imperial forces still fight on, so it's up to you to infiltrate their hideouts and exterminate them. The graphics are, for the most part, solid. I was impressed at how good they are for this kind of game. Nothing state-of-the-art, but they're still pretty damn good. Control has also been given an overhaul and rightfully so, since this game lets you use force powers and wield a lightsaber. The single-player mode is extremely entertaining, and the fact that the game offers multiplayer options only adds to the overall value of the package. And you can save whenever you want to in the single-player mode! But, of course, the game isn't perfect. Like earlier Dark Forces games, the level design just is not that good. Too many areas look alike, and there are too many instant death spots that are just too easy to fall into. Likewise, in many cases your objectives are unclear, and some of the puzzles are a pain - I don't know about you, but I buy first-person shooters to shoot people, not solve puzzles! Because of the imbalanced puzzles and often poor level design, it took me over an hour just to beat the first level! Another huge problem is availability. Lack of custom control configuration also plagues the game. This is a huge problem, since the game's limited control selections will often clash with what you're used to for this sort of game. This game wasn't released on the Gamecube in very high quanitites, so you're gonna have to shell out the full new price just to get a USED copy - and in my mind, it's NOT worth that price. Sad but true. I do recommend this game to Star Wars fans, just be warned that it's not perfect, and it's hard to get a copy.
EDITION NOTES:
This is a good game, but for some strange reason it just wasn't available on the Gamecube for very long. Because of this, even USED copies fetch close to the original new retail price. This is extremely annoying for people like me who want to get every Star Wars game. Still, you should hunt it down if you're into this sort of thing.
OVERALL:
Overall this is the best game in the Dark Forces sub-series thusfar. Where the game succeeds, it succeeds beautifully. I am impressed with the game, it's just a shame the Gamecube version was not made readily available to all would-be players. I strongly recommend this game if you can get a hold of it - I doubt it will disappoint any Star Wars fan.
Time to get behind the Katarn. "Perhaps your not as strong as you would have thought."

Perhaps Kyle Katarn's game isn't as strong as we would have liked. Some of the things in this game just show the short-sightedness of the developers. Like the angle of the camera in the Imperial station on some planet's name I can't remember. The angle of the camera made Kyle's hips look very big. And when I mean big, I mean BIG! Or the stupid suit Galak Fyarr is wearing when Katarn meets up with him! What is that a criptonite suit to destory Kyle like Super-Man? The puppet like movement of the characters' lips stinks. The physical animated movement in the characters isn's fluid. The sloppy mistakes that they {the development team} made will make you laugh all the way form Japan to America. The graphics in the game definitely need to be worked on. I mean, it says right on the box that this game optimizes the GameCube's performance. I don't think they know what the GameCube is capable of! Over all I might sound really tough on the game, but do you want a real review of this game, or not? Now to get to nicer aspects of the game. The game is suprisingly fun to play, especally the multiplayer aspect of this game. Though, I'm going to have to warn you in single player jedi master mode, when you get to the end, you'll run in to this nasty over grown ex-jedi lizard named Dasann. And boy I'll tell you, I had to trick Desann into killing himself by barbequeing a pillar with his lightning so that it fell on his head! What a grueling thing it was! Oh, now to the multiplayer part of the game. If you think that fire arms are just for the bad guys, your wrong! In the game you will have a great variety of guns, not just lightsabers. By the way if you don't laugh in the multiplayer part you'll lose 50% of the game, and 50% of the fun. In all I recommend this game for the laughs and injoyment. Remember: "Be a customer. Not a comsumer! Period."-Jake Smithers

IM 15 BUT THE KIDS REVIEW IS ALOT EASYER. THIS GAME IS GREAT.THE MULTIPLAYER MODE IN THIS GAME IS INSANE AND FUN. THIS GAME IS REALLY HARD TO FIND THOUGH. I CAN ONLY RENT THIS GAME BECAUSE I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE. BUT ANYWAY, THE WEAPONS IN THIS 1ST PERSON SHOOTER GAME ARE GREAT. THE STORY LINE IS VERY INTERESTING AS WELL. THIS GAME TAKES PLACE SEVERAL YEARS AFTER RETURN OF THE JEDI AND IT TALKS ABOUT HOW LUKE SKYWALKER IS NOW A JEDI MASTER AND SUCH. THE CHARACTER YOU PLAY AS IS NAMED KYLE AND AT THE START OF THE GAME YOU ARE STILL A PADAWAN ( BEGINNER JEDI ) AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING WITH THE FORCE OR A LIGHTSABER YET ... BUT SOON IN THE GAME WHEN YOU LEARN HOW TO BECOME A JEDI, THE GAME GETS ALOT MORE FUN. ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR JEDI ABILITIES YOUR WEAPON IS YOUR LIGHTSABER AND IT TURNS INTO 3RD PERSON MODE. YOU CAN ALSO DO INSANE JUMPS LIKE A REAL JEDI AS WELL. WELL ENOUGH OF MY YAPPIN .. GET THE GAME ALREADY!!!

Can anyone tell me DEFINITIVELY why LucasArts, et al., are NO LONGER making games for the GameCube? Legos Star Wars and Sith are being made for GameBoy Advance/DS, but not for the 'Cube. What's up with that?
I've heard a number of things:
* Star Wars titles never sold very well at all for Nintendo, whose strength still lies in its Mario and Pokemon franchises, among several others. But not Star Wars games. And in 3rd place in market share behind both Playstation and Xbox, making a 3rd version of any Star Wars game was a guaranteed money loser. (Not so for GameBoy which still owns the handheld domain.)
* The new Star Wars games require more buttons on the controllers. The others have them, GameCube does not.
* GameCube has no game playing interactivity, though I fail to see this as a showstopper.
Your thoughts? I really want to play Star Wars games like Battlefront but unless I move to another platform I am SOL. Any guesses if Nintendo Revolution will address these shortcomings?

THIS GAME IS EXACTLY LIKE THE JAMES BOND GAMES. THE MULTIPLAYER IS WAY TOO GOOD AND THE STORY MODE IS VERY CHALLENGING. WHEN YOU SWITCH TO THE LIGHT SABER YOU GO INTO 3RD PERSON MODE. IT IS A VERY COOL GAME.
IF YOU PLAY MULTIPLAYER IT KIND OF STINKS WITHOUT THE FIRST PLAYER HAVING A LIGHT SABER. I ENTERED IN THE CODE FOR IT AND A FEW OTHERS JUST FOR MULTIPLAYER AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY WORKED IN STORY MODE. DON'T I REPEAT DON'T USE CODES IN STROY MODE. ONCE YOU GET UP TO A CERTAIN LEVEL YOU ARE CHALLENGED TO DUEL A LIZZARD AT THE END OF A LEVEL. IF YOU HAVE INVINCEABILITY ON YOU CAN'T LOSE TO GO ON TO THE NEXT LEVEL. YES, YOU HAVE TO LOSE THE BATTLE. YOU CAN'T TURN CODES OFF IN THE GAME SO WATCH OUT.
THEY WAY I DO THE CODES FOR MULTIPLAYER IS TO LET THE GAME LOAD THE LEVELS AND CHARACTERS. THEN WHEN YO GET TO THE MAIN MENU REMOVE YOUR MEMORY CARD. THEN ENTER THE CODES. IT WILL NOT STOP YOU FROM MOVING ON IN STORY MODE AND YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT MULTIPLAYER GAME GOING.
I MADE THE MISTAKE OF ENTERING THE CODE WITH THE MEMORY CARD IN AND HAD TO DELETE THE DATA AND START THE GAME OVER JUST BECAUSE I HAD TO BE DEFEATED IN A BATTLE. WATCH OUT.
THE GAME IS VERY GOOD. IT HAS SOLID GAMEPLAY AND A GREAT MULTIPLAYER. THE LIGHTSABERS COLORS CAN BE CHANGED AND THERE IS A BUNCH OF OTHER STUUF YOU CAN CHANGE.
JEDI OUTCAST IS ONE OF THE BEST GC GAMES.
FOR THE NINTENDO REVOLUTION IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY RELEASE A SEQUEL AND HAVE IT GO ONLINE.
IF YOU LOVE STAR WARS, YOU WANT A GREAT ADVENTURE GAME WITH SOLID MULTIPLAYER GET THIS GAME.
