I'm a star wars freak! And for me there isn't much more fun than marching a group of AT-AT's into battle, or Sending a fleet of star destroyers to crush the enemy's defense. The game is great. The sound gets 100/5 stars just as you would expect from a star wars game. Visuals get high score! AI only gets a 4/5 because it's so mixed! Sometimes they will charge at you and sometimes they will just sit in a corner like your not even there. But for glitches and bugs like this just download game patches! The land battles are great and the space battles are Epic and scenic. You control almost every detail...where to land those ships, where that soldier moves, and best, What planet to blow up with the mighty death star! Overall the game is mind-blowing! I'd give it 10,000,000,000 out of 5 stars!

This is one of the greatest RTS' out there right now. Petroglyph has gotten rid of the pointless resource collecting, which makes the game very easy to get into and play. My only complaint with the game is the graphics, close up, they look horrendous(at least in ground battles), but the good thing thing that comes out of the bad graphics is that you don't need a power pc to play this game. So if you like Star Wars, or just RTS', go out and buy this game, you won't be dissapointed.

Boring....................................................

Star Wars Empire at War is a fun game and I think it has a overall score of 4 stars. The game is worth the cost but the galactic conquest mode is confusing. The game also has some cheat codes but they sometimes apply for the enemy also.I haven't noticed any glitches in it so it is a worthwhile game

JUST WHAT THE FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

This game is so AWESOME!!!!! I have been waiting for this game for a very, very long time. It was everything I hoped for, and more. There are two things I didn't like: One was the single player campaigns were too short. What about Episodes 5-6? What about the Battle of Endor? What about a Super Star Destroyer? Another thing I didn't like is: why couldn't the Death Star move, and fire on capitial ships? Why couldn't it have the thousands of tubrolasers it was meant to? I hope they inprove this in a sequle or an expansion. Anyway, for any Star Wars fan, this is a must-buy game.

Good first version

The game play is pretty good. The graphics are workable. It is a little too easy on the easy level. It does well accessing the Star Wars world.

So far I only play the tutorials and one mission but the game is amassing, the graphics the control. You are in the world of Star Wars is very addicting and very fun I really recommend this job, buy it.

I started this game with high expectations and hopes. I played both Rebels and Imperials and was not impressed with either. The story is very bland and in no way makes me want to fight on. Every battle is about overpowering. There is next to no strategy other than the aforementioned. I ran into several bugs on my way through the Rebel campaigns (Antilles and some Y-wings are required for a mission, I had both and I was still rejected from the space mission). I experienced no real issues with the imperial campaign. Once you understand how to progress through the game, it is relatively easy on any of the difficulty settings. Another disappointment was the small number of building and unit options.

Graphics are fairly decent, but nothing fantastic. The battlecam view for space missions is about the coolest thing about the game. Viewing the battlecam on the ground is Blah.

Space Battles V. Ground Battles
Ground battles and space battles, in my opinion, are more or less the same. As long as you have the upper hand in fire power, you'll win. I'll lean towards space only because of the battlecam.

The Online options are fun. Space Skirmish's, Campaigns modes, etc. Unfortunately it becomes boring fast.

I suggest to anyone who is interested in buying this game to go to the Lucasarts and Gamefaqs website and check out the forums and reviews.

LucasArts hasn't impressed me one bit lately(KOTOR 2 anyone), and this will be the last time I buy a game from them so close to its release.

Good game, but could have be better

If your a big Star Wars fan such as I am, you're probably going to get this game anyway. I'll let you know though that it was over hyped and I'll tell you real quick why I think that. The ground (or planetary battles) are rather weak and they don't have that epic feel that the movies do. I think that part was neglected when they made the game. Like it was rushed or something. On a good note, the space battles are visually stunning and offer a good strategy challenge for you RTS fans. I esspecially love how pieces of large ships are still floating around for a while after being destroyed. Plus, the music score is derived from all six movies and is used very well in this game. Overall, it's not a bad game but it could have been better.
