All I want to say about Resident Evil Zero, is that it has graphics WAY, WAY ahead of its time! They're so realistic, picture perfect, and they have real lighting effects that makes the jaw drop to the floor. Amazing graphics, great story (A+ for that), and very much scariness (the games so scary, you'll have nightmares), and is so amazing you'll want to yell to the world saying "this is the most amazing game EVER!
Excellent, Scary and Addictive!!!

First of all i am new to game playing, having only brought and x box back in Nov 2002. Since then i have played Silent Hill 2 (great game)and Project Zero (atmoshphere plus) on x box. Two great games which gave me a taste of survial horror. Through this experience i decieded to invest in a game cube so i could play the RE games. Infact this was the only reason i brought the console. My love for survial horror as made me open my wallet and invest in ANOTHER console , which i thought i would never do.
When i brought the console i brought RE remake and RE0 straight away.
Was it worth my purchase just for these games ?????
HELL YESSSSS !!!!
RE0 has got to be one of the best games i have every watched and played. The game play is both absorbing and immersive. The cut scenes are basically movie quality and the overall look of the environments and characters is mind boggling. This is the closet, (even over Silent Hill)that i have come to actually feeling like im in a movie.
An example of the high level of detail in the graphic come from the little things. a handbag sitting on a chair, rain on the skin of yah characters, walking across the top of a train in a down pour and so forth.
The opening sequence, which begins on a train, is all i needed to realise that this was going to be a highly developed game with the best graphics and gameplay avalible for the GC.
I knew i was in for a treat visually in the first 10 min of the game. When one of the main characters encounters a zombie in an upstairs dining cart and Billy saves the day. This is only ONE of the many scenes that i wont forget for a while. Infact visually this was one of the best games i have played even over some of the xbox games (which we all know by now does have better graphics than alot of the other consoles).
As mentioned u get to play two character in this and the system is very easy to use. The controls are similar to all survival horror games and really don't take very long to get use to and when u do u will be playing like a pro.
The story is intriguing and will keep you going till the end and with multiple cut scenes this game moves along as fast as the runaway train you begin on.
Sound wise, zombies moan, dogs groan and leeches, well leeches just suck and bite. The overall difference with this survial horror to me is the long breaks between music. I really noticed the music in this game when it did play cause it rarely does. Most music starts when u are in a room with a save typewriter but otherwise all u hear is the rain, lighting, thunder and of course.......your enemies. This is a fantastic way to play the game and for me added to the spookiness of the game.
I also have to mention the lighting effects....amazing. I loved being in a darken room and have bright white flashes streak across the room. It really added something.
Overall this game should please most teens and adult and is certaintly not recommended to kids under 12.
This is a buy not a rent and Amazon offer the bests prices on this game that i can find so even if your not into horror games buy this to simply show off the capabilities of the GC, however u will get addicted to this game.
Just buy it ok, every review for this game tells you its brillant and it is.....................!!!!!!

I will start off by telling you Resident Evil one this aint! Zero is very similiar to its predecssor in many ways except for that the scare factor has gone down.....meaning its still really scary just not as scary as the first re.Gameplay wise this game rocks the house, and you do get some some pretty bad weapons. It is a pretty short game but c'mon you cant resist Rebeccas cute face!

Now I've played both Resident Evil titles for the gamecube( RE zero and the remake) and I'll have to say they've become one of my favorite games. Though, RE zero ain't as good as the remake. It's not a bad game, it's super fun and the size of it is bigger than the remake, it took almost 14 hours to complete the game, + I had to restart sometimes which made the total length even longer. But one of the key features I missed a little bit was fear. One I entered the mansion of the remake the first zombie I saw maded me scared and I didn't like to play the game further on this dark evening because, well, it was just scary. In this game I already knew how to kill/avoid zombies, spare ammo and ink ribbons and I also knew most parts of the the story behind Resident Evil. So, to be honest I never felt really scared. The music, the enemies, the story, they just aren't that surprising anymore.
RE zero: gameplay 9 RE 1: 9.9
Too bad the fear factor ain't as high as the remake. But the 2 player system and the length of the game are making this RE still great fun. I missed the crimson heads but the new leech zombies are a cool add-on. The controls and the door animations are still the same but personally I like them both. The game would be too easy if you could avoid zombies with super-mario or Doom controls. It makes you more uncomfortable when you're being attacked by stinking zombies.
RE zero: Graphics 9.3 RE 1: 9.3
Don't know if they're even better than the remake but they're awesome anyway!
RE zero: Sound 9 RE 1 : 9.5
Another point which scores lower than in the remake. The sfx are good but the music ain't that spooky as in the remake. In my opinion the makers could have put some more music in the game. I'm not saying music in every chamber would be good but in this RE I missed the sinister music on many places.
RE zero: Originallity 7.5 RE 1: 9
This game answered a lot off little questions I had after completing RE1 so it's a must if you want to know more about Umbrella and the T-virus. But now I know all the facts it's time that Capcom comes up with a whole new story instead of making another RE 4. I'm afraid that part just won't add interesting stuff anymore to the total RE storyline.
conclusion
I would say, if you're a RE fan, buy both titles and start with the remake. If you doubt, just buy the RE remake. RE 0 still contains good horror but if you have seen other Resident Evils before it ain't that scary anymore.
+ 2 player system works perfectly and adds a new dimension
+ Many places to explore
+ leave items anywhere
+ Various area's, a train, mansion, church, factory and more
+ Leech zombies!
- A little bit more would have been nice
- Zombies are easier to kill, they are just wandering around instead of jumping through windows and other tricks like that as in the RE1
- I miss the crimson heads. Zombies just dissapear after gettings killed
- The story fits many holes but what happens with Billy after completing the game?
Classic Survival Horror

All the elements that made Resident Evil a hit make this one just as good. Added features such as switching between the two charecters, and dropping items anywhere on the screen give it some originality. I have been a fan of the RE series since the very first game for Play Sation, and this game is no exception. The graphics are stunning (even better then the remake). I look forward to spending hours playing this game.
its ok

resident evil zero is just another game in the RE series. there is nothing really new with this game its just so so. it just carries the story along and is hard and boring. the first RE for gamecube which i borrowed from my friend and which ive only played 10 or 15 min of is alot more suspenseful and fun. i cant judge totally since i havent played much of the first RE. but i can say its better than zero. i am at the training facility basement and its hard and stupid. i mean a bunch t virus monkeys start attacking me i mean come on thats not scary thats stupid. i would suggest buying this game if u are a hardcore RE fan but if ur just and average gamer like me who likes the RE series but isnt to crazy about it rent it or just dont play it
good game

This is going to be one of the greatest games for the Nintendo Gamecube, ever. The graphics are simply amazing and don't think just because you're on a train for most of the game, you won't have much to do. Far from it. You can be in three different settings. The train, the Mansion (yes, you do go to the mansion in RE0), and the forrest. Plus, this time you don't just play one character through out the entire game. With the C-Stick button you can switch between Rebecca and Billy instantly. Another side note, there aren't Magickal Interlinking Item boxes anymore that you can drop your stuff into. In this new Resident Evil, you can lay your item wherever you want, in any room, anywhere. We get to learn more about what happened to the former S.T.A.R.S team before Chris, Jill, Berry, Wesker, and the gang arrived. We also get to learn more about how Wesker got involved with Umbrella. This game is going to be amazing, and on my top list of games to get.
GREAT ADDITION TO RE SERIES!

I've been wacthing this game since 2000 when rumors started. As a Die Hard fan of the Resident Evil Series owning all the Videogames including Survivor and Gaiden...this is a must have game for me.We get see Rebecca and the Bravo as their 'Copter crashes for no apparent reason. No items boxes will make it hard but the partner zapping system is something I've wanted since Resident Evil 1 in 1996.Their will also be new enemis to fight like Frogs,Scorpion and new Tyrant.Plus Wesker and Birkin are back to reveal more Umb. Secrets!I've pre-ordered my game and Guide i suggest you do the same.

The music and graphics are great in this game, but there is one MAJOR problem: The controls stink! It is really hard to walk because the direction you need to hold the control stick always changes. Also, what really annoys me his how you can't turn the camera. Aiming the gun is difficult, too. But the graphics and music rule! I have to admit they did a really good job on that. If you're a fan of the seires, you'll like this because it is a prequel and it has a great story. But it didn't really work for me.
