I have been browsing the Amazon.com Gamecube game section for quite some time, and have run across your reviews for Mario Sunshine and Mario Party 4. I tried to restrain myself from speaking my feelings earlier on your review for "Sunshine" but now I just can't hold back.
You said in your "Sunshine" review that your children found these two games confusing and that you have purchased a PS2 with two other games. Please review those games instead.
The fact that your sons cannot understand Mario Sunshine and Mario Party 4 is understandable. I respect your opinion on the matter, but a video game review should be a little more than four sentences. What did your sons find difficult about the games? Did you help them figure them out at all? Please put more thought into your reviews before you go out and blast a well-made game such as this.
I will understand if Amazon.com removes this review, or at least this portion. I have read the fine print, though, and to my knowledge nowhere is it written that I cannot express my opinion of other's reviews. I have toned down this part of my review as much as possible while still trying to convey my opinion. If I have offended anyone, I'm sorry.
And now, my Mario Party 4 review.
I bought this game very recently, since I loved Mario Party 1, 2, and 3. Number 4 doesn't disappoint. With great, original minigames and intense Multiplayer action, not only will kids get a kick out of this game, but any adult who is willing to try it probably will too. All the classic characters are there, and the graphics have been boosted tremendously. The game both sounds and looks great, and the control is very well done. Instead of Monopoly, bring out the Cube, hook it up to the TV, grab some chips and about three friends and just have fun.
Oh, and MTFBWY. :)

This game was addictive to me for a while, but it got real old FAST. The storyline is stupid, I mean really, who wants to work their back off trying to get presents for YOUR birthday?! Also, the game way too easy, and the game is a repeat of Mario Party 3. No new character and character voices, it's once again just a bunch of annoying squeaking animals. In addition, there are only 6 boards in total, and they are so plain. This game seriously needs to take advantage of the Gamecube features. Apparently, Hudson and Nintendo are still living in the Nintendo 64 era. The only thing OK about the game is the graphics. Beside that, it's a waste of money. Don't get it, I warn you, you'll want your money back very soon after purchase! You can also see my review on Mario Party 5 if you visit that page.

I find this game to be pretty boring (3 stars). I hate waiting through other character's turns. dull.
BUT...After beating the parties, you're reward an awesome extra game in the extra-game room. It's beach volleyball and it is
a blast! (5 stars- thus, an average of 4-(even though I hate having to rechoose all the info after losing- it needs a replay option) Anyway, the beach volleyball is the best part of this game.

Mario Party 4 is definately one of the best games ever for gamecube. There are so many more features on 4 than on all the other ones. If you like any of the other Mario Party games you'll like this. If you like Zelda The windwaker than you'll probably like Mario Party 4...Thanks!
These games get worse and worse...

Back when the first Mario Party was released, I thought that it was a very fun multi-player game. When the sequel came out, I enjoyed it as well. The third time however I was getting bored with the series, thinking that it was getting very repetitive. This 4th edition doesn't many bring many new changes to the gameplay. It's the same exact set-up it has been, and probably always will be. Nintendo needs to get it that that the Mario Party games just aren't fun anymore. Finishing a board is now a chore to do. So are some of the mini games. Don't get me wrong though, I actually enjoyed some of the mini games very much, which saved this game from getting no stars. But all in all, if you're going to get a Mario Party game, get one of the first two for the Nintendo 64. Those are better. Oh, and whatever you do, don't get the 5th one. I can tell it's going to be a re-hashed version of this edition.
Minigames, minigames, minigames

This game is packed fit to brust with minigames and I even brought it four days ago and I still find new minigames to play, and I play about one hour a day! It gets a bit annoying when you have to play story-mode or party-mode and unlock the minigames for minigame mode. But it takes little time for people to take their turn so every three and a half minutes you are back into a mini game. Minigames can be dull such as three throw when plays just have to throw basketballs in moving nets. While others are a great yell with your mates such as booksquirm when players have to try not to be squashed by turning pages and have to look for holes in them, you will want to kill the computer when it yet again pushs you and you get squished by a page. The items are cool apart from a magic lamp that takes players straight to a star it's way too easy to win with this item.
DON'T BUY THIS GAME IF: You hate waiting your turn and dislike short and sharp fun and just want it all the time. Minigame mode offers this but as I said you will have to unlock the games one by one in story or party-mode first. Better let your eager friend do this for you.
BUY THIS GAME IF: You love a variety of fun and games and like a laugh with your friends in front if the televison.

This game is so much fun. All the mini games too. We have family from 6 to 60 and have spent hours playing it. All the different boards keep it new. The younger children are familiar with Mario and all the gang from their Game Boy advance systems.

I don't care what other people say, in my opinion this game is great. The gameplay is 10/10, and so are all the other categories! An example of one of the mini-games is Domination. It is a very heart thumping mini-game! If you are a board game fan, BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!
Sorry Mario, but Benpercent is crashing this party.

This game functions and no more. If you want to Mario Party, I would recommend all three for the N64.
First I will wail on the graphics. They are good and smooth. It does not feel like the characters are made of polygons. But everything is empty. Eye candy is good, but we need more. The board maps are like a empty field.
Sound was a big thing in the first three parties, but has become weak. The annoucer was a big part, but seems uninterested. Music is WAY too simple for what the first three had.
Gameplay: Functions but is uninteresting.
Game: It's your birthday and some guys want to throw you a party! Yes, the stories may have been weak in Mario's parties, but you do not care. You go from map to map with six in all. What you do is collect money and try to buy some stars. The one with the most stars wins the game. In between rows of die you play a mini game. Which destroyed this game into so-so. They are all creative, but they many have the same controls. I bet there are more than three games there that ask you to hit the A-button as fast as you can!
Overall, this game functions. And you should look for an N64 for Mario's older parties. I am not going to review them, but I strongly recommend the first three.
