Lego Star Wars is my favorite Star Wars video game yet. I own the Game Cube version of this game, but I have also played the Playstation 2 edition and my comments apply to both versions.

My initial interest in this game was this interesting combination of Lego building blocks in a Star Wars game. The game play turned out to be much better than I had anticipated.

The game follows the plot of episodes I through III closely and allows the player to control the main characters from those movies. Each episode is broken in to scenes (levels). Completion of a scene allows play to continue to the next scene. Until a scene is completed you must play it with the pre-selected characters but once it is completed you may return to the level and play through again with any of the characters that you have unlocked. This adds greatly to the replay value, as there are hidden items on each of the levels, some of which can only be obtained with specific characters.

The cooperative, two player, mode is also great fun. Players can drop into or out of the game at any time. While the AI for the second characters in a one-player game is generally very good, having a second human play both simplifies some of the scenes and enhances the entertainment value of the game.

Be prepared to laugh as well. Both cut scenes and interactive game play have a lot of humorous elements. If these were not done well they would be very distracting. Fortunately they are blended into the game extremely well and definitely add to the enjoyment.

My only regret is that only the first three episodes are included. I really hope that there is a sequel to this game released covering episodes IV through VI.

I enjoyed it very much especially the animation sequences. The game itself was a little too easy I beat every level and found all of the extras in two days.

Not as fun as Lego Star Wars II

I played lego star wars 2 before I played this game. Maybe I should have done the reverse. Anyway, I thought it was fun, but it just seem to be lacking something. I found that something when I played Lego 2. I find all of the characters fun to play with. I like this game, but not as much as Star Wars Lego 2.

..he practically started hyperventilating when he saw that I had bought this for him! Seemingly overnight he is a star wars FANatic, mainly because of this game! I got tired of renting it repeatedly at a chain video store, and love doing business with Amazon, so, I bought it, It arrived in perfect condition in three days, and my little guy is now over the moon. I'm thrilled this is his favortie game..unlike some of the monstrously violent ones on the market today!

BEING A CHILD OF THE '70'S & '80'S DURING THE ADVENT OF VIDEO GAMES, THIS IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED !! GREAT GRAPHICS & THE ACTION IS UNMATCHED !!!! WE GOT IT FOR MY SON AT CHRISTMAS & WE PLAYED FOR 4 HOURS THE FIRST DAY !!!!!!!!!!
