Ok, here's the coolest game. This is one of my favorite games I have for Gamecube. The COOL thing about this game is that:
-It is easy enough for a 5 year-old boy to play.
-Very very fun.
- No violence( When you hit a droid, clone, etc.,they don't really die. They just blow out in LEGO pieces)
-Cool graphics.
-You can play as 30 characters from the saga. Like Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Sidious, General Grievous, etc.
-Very cheap, great game.
-You can use the Force.
-Levels have destructible parts.
Now the BAD things:
- LEGO characters do not talk.
- You can't stop playing it. ( Addictive )
- A very short game. ( I finished it in 2 days )
Overall: A
Note: There are also cheats to unlock characters, but then you'll need to buy them with studs.
Buy it, it is really worth it.

My kids love this game

When I first saw this game advertised, I assumed it was a hoaky marketing tool for Legos, like the kind of thing that comes free in cereal boxes. I was way off.
My kids (and most of the neighbor kids) have fallen in love with this game. It's actually a brilliant concept: You have all of the excitement (and "violence") of the Star Wars series, but no one ever gets hurt! The worst thing that happens when you shoot an "enemy" is that a few Lego pieces fly apart! And who doesn't like destroying Lego assemblies?
The gameplay is out of this world, and it just goes on and on. It's challenging enough to keep my 8 year-old son entertained, but my 4 year-old girl can have fun, too.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this game for an adult, but it's perfect for kids 4-16 or so.

Kids Loved It

My 7 and 8 year old boys own somewhere near 30 GameCube games. We recently purchased this for them and this is among their favorite games. They loved the game play. They loved being able to save up points to "purchase" characters. Of course they love Star Wars and Legos so that was the initial hook. As parents, we really had to make sure they didn't over play this game as our boys could easily spend hours sitting together on the same family room chair playing this game. Cute watching them play and hoot and holler, but in moderation. Good game.

Lots of Fun!

I got this game for my son for his 9th birthday and he just loves it. He is a big Star Wars fan & he has lots of Lego's so this game was a perfect choice for him. He loves the way the game looks and the puzzles involved to get to the next level. I love the fact that he can play two player with his little sister.
This is a beautiful & fun game. All Star Wars fans will love it.

Great game (a bit hard even for an adult)

I am having so much fun playing this game with my 9yo. Supports two players simultaneously. Nice (and unique) thing about this game is how you can change your character at will throughout the game. Unlimited lives = unlimited attempts. Spent 4+ hours last night and we're still on episode 1. Great game, buy it!

Surprisingly Fun - Even For Adults

My 9-year-old son literally begged me to let him buy this game, "I'll even use my own money". This was a surprise because he is usually very tight with his money. We have dozens of games we bought him that he never plays and we were concerned that this one would end up in the big pile destined for a yard sale. We were wrong!

This game is just plain fun. The missions are generally not too challenging (other than the Pod Racing), but they are very engaging. The cooperative mode is great and allows for some quality family gaming time.

Pros:
Very Fun
Can't Die (good for younger players)
Nice Extras

Cons:
Standard missions end too quickly (but replay is also fun)

We highly recommend this game.

Move over wii...

I've never written a game review before, but the two Star Wars games are amazing for my kids -- boys ages 7 and 9. For Christmas, Grandpa somehow found them a Nintendo wii, and other family bought them the new Cars game for wii and Shrek Super Slam for Gamecube, which we all imagined would be their most exciting gifts. Star War was available at half-price, so it got thrown in as an extra in a Santa stocking. Well, they do like the Wii sports games (when the grownups will give up the controllers for five minutes), but the one game they have played every chance they get since Christmas morning (it's Martin Luther King Day today, and they're in the playroom playing Star Wars right now) is Star Wars. They play side-by-side, switching characters as they need to, and it's hilarious to hear their banter -- so much like Luke and Hans Solo -- as they race around solving puzzles and beating levels. They love the story mode, have not even tried free play yet, and as a late gift received the second Star Wars game (the Skywalker trilogy), which is what they are mostly playing now. I have not played the game myself and can't say anything about how it plays, except that it has won over my sons. Just goes to show, you never know...

My son is a leg and star wars freak so when this came out he could not wait to get it. He loves playing it. Although he says it is a bit easy he would still recommend it.

Well, what can I say? I love LEGO, and I love STAR WARS.... So I would definitely love this game. OK. Time for the summary. First off, this is an incredibly original game, no doubt about it. You may expect the graphics to be a bit cheap since it's LEGO, but you couldn't be more wrong! The graphics are very nice and the scenery superb. For those of you who think this is a kiddie game, think again. Some levels are really quite challenging, including the podrace. There are also many incentives to play this game again. First off, there is a bonus level to unlock (From A NEW HOPE), then there are over thirty characters that you can play as, and of course, you can build many vehicles from the STAR WARS saga using the mini-kits found on each level. Even though this game was released for GAMECUBE quite a long time after it's competitors did, it's a very nice game.... It is a bit short, though. I played through the entire game with my friend, excluding the bonus level, in about three hours. One player takes longer. When you factor in the extra time from replaying the levels, it averages seven hours. A definite buy, of course. Congratulations, LUCAS ARTS, and thank you!!!

Not just for kids....

We found this game to be surprisingly fun -even my husband and I enjoyed playing it. Difficulty is not high, however, there are areas that take some imagination and creativity to figure out. Age appropriateness--adults will have a good time, just remember it's geared towards children. My 8 year old loves the game, and my 4 year old loves to play, but doesn't quite grasp all of it just yet. The characters make great noises -hollering and such when they fall off ledges, etc., and the extras you can purchase (you earn 'studs' during each level) can make for hilarious game play...i.e, you can buy moustaches, and when the feature is turned on, each character now sports a nifty big moustache. Seeing Yoda, Chewbacca, and Darth Sidious with moustaches is a hoot! At such a great price, this is a definite game to get.
