This is a really great game!

Hi, my sister got this for her 9th birthday and we LOVE it! If your a boy you can chose one of the 11 girls to be your wife. (Including meany Jamie!) And if your a girl you can chose one of the 10 boys to be your husband. (I picked Kirt!) And then later in the game you get a baby! There's a new farm member to, A pig! And you can keep him in your house :) The game play is really good and the grafics are great! It's a little more cartoony than Harvest moon a wonderfull life but I kinda like it that way! When the game starts there's not much people in the town and it's hard to find your way around but as the game progresses much more people move in and you can find your way around easily. Theres also a lot more festivals in the game to. And mini games. And the town is pretty big. Overall this game is great and you should get it!

This is the best harvest moon ever! I like how you can pick where you want to live, and it's so cool how you can buy property and what's realy nice about this one is how you have to buy your chicken coop and your barn and some of your furniture. I also like the mini games that you can play with four people. This is a very fun game!!

My first Harvest Moon experience was Back To Nature. I would suggest that game to anyone. This should not be your first HM game, but it should join your collection once you've been broken in.
The characters are very impressive, they change what they say to you in accordance to how well they know you, and with the weather. That is somthing that HM:AWL lacked. I do miss the different colored cows, they should also add different breeds of horses and chickens. I have some chickens, and none of them look like that. Maybe a new pet could be a polish rooster! Look it up, they're cute.
This is a game where you need to take your time. If you want to finish it in a week, look somwhere else. Don't marry too early, check out all your options. I married Kurt in the spring of year 2, and I got Joe coming to my house that summer to say he "likes" me. Talk about akward...
Purchasing land is, interesting. It's clever, and unique, but sort of a hassle. Right now I have my house and chickens on one side of town, whith my barn and pasture on the other, and my crops on a third. And I own all the land you can! ***Tip*** if your house and your crops are on different lots, put your henhouse with your crops so you have a shipping bin handy.
My favorite part of this game is the history. They meld aspects of all the old games into this new one, there are characters from every game, exept maybe the gameboy and gameboy color games. They brought back the cake (Thanksgiving) festival which was in the first HM for SNES (also a spectacular game), but this time everyone can give cakes to anyone they are friends with, not just to their fathers. Also, Ellen was Hank's daughter in SNES, and they kept that here.
Exepting the graphics, this is an exellent and addicting game. I agree that next time there should be more cutscenes and more realistic animals and people. Also, hiring the harvest sprites was nice(BTN, FOMT), but you can't do that here.
You should really get this game!

_____ So, I love this game, it is just really fun. There isn't much else to say, but let me tell you some of the stuff that bugs me. You are the only person in the town who will get married; you will see people talk of their wedding-to-be but they will not marry, the baby does not grow up and he cries, like, a lot, the spouses do get pretty dull after a while of hearing the same old thing, the charge-ups for using you watering can and things of the like are a little weird, you can not get divorced, though the festivals are back they don't have some of the uniqueness of HM: 64's (for instance no dancing, no balloon rides, no egg hunts) in fact some of the festivals are pretty short and uneventful.
_____Having said this I will tell you the stuff I love. I think the graphics are cute and don't let that make you think the game is anymore immature than any other HM game, I love the spouse choice you have so much selection and almost infinite time to choose your "soul mate", you can breed horses again, the land is AWESOME; not only is it new and just plain cool you can actually buy new property (I think there are up to twenty lots), you can have more than one house (but only one barn and coop):, you can have a second floor to each house, I like the towns people and the friendship system, the date festivals are cute, and there is no ending (unless you marry the oddity Jamie). I don't know what to say about the whole "save the Harvest Goddess" thing. It's okay, it gives the game a little more of an aim but the first 50 or so notes aren't to hard to get and once you save her not much happens. I have not collected all 100 though.
_____ Most games RPG games like this I get bored after a while, not so with Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, there is tons to do and indescribably fun. It is hard enough and easy enough to keep going, and it is completely worth the buy. It is just an awesome game and definitely one of the best Harvest Moon games if not the best.

This game isnt any ordinary Harvest Moon game it lets you do what you want and lets you act like who you really are. This game is full of plenty of things to do. In this Harvest Moon title theres no way you'll be limited to the same old raise a farm and do your daliy crop raising activitys. In this wonderful new title called Harvest Moon: Magical Meldody, you can be who you feel like, mabey a social butterfly or a hard working cowboy you chose. During the game you can chose three differnt plots of land having on mind that later on you can buy more land if needed. Once settled you can pick being a boy or girl. In the game there is a story plot that tells about how the harvest goddess was turned to stone and with your help by finding the missing musical notes she will turn back into her regular form. If your starting to wonder if thats it and then the games over you are wrong very wrong. Helping the harvest goddess only something to do in your spare time, because when your not working your socializing and when your not talking with friends your findng food to eat and doing all the other great things that us fans have come to love about Harvest Moon. In conclusion if your looking for a game with farming, socializing, and just having a plain out good time then Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is your game, have fun!

Great game....but could use some changes

First off, i am a Harvest moon fan and always have been. I have played the games back to 64, and i have to say this was a pretty good game compared to AWl.

You have many more people to meet, and you now actually have to work and do things to make them stay in town. Plue you can get a note for getting the people to move in! they really try to make this game worth all the hard work.

Animals, they could use some more work. I am happy you can have a barn and chicken coop in any area you want, but the fact that quality of produce is random makes it worse. I work hard to get good produce, and when my 9 heart sheep gives me dull wool for 5 sheerings straight, it makes me angry. I also don't like that you need a fence, and to plant grass every year. It gets rather boring, and to build a fence takes a long time. _tip: use stones for your fence-

Festivals are not all that great, you cannot do anything at them except talk to people. if they are making a festival, make one where you can do more then talk to everyone once and leave. Add mini games or something to make it worth it. Some of them, yes you need to go to them to get certin peopel, but the others are rather pointless.

The grapics and music are okay. they do fit in with each other and carry on the harvest moon tradition. i rather like them myself. But i do think you should have more of a choice with the music, and not the same old thing.

all in all, a rather good game. worth buying and playing.

I would haved to say that harvest moon a magic melody is really really fun. I would probably have to say that my favorit part inthe game is raising animals, especially horses because I love them!!!! I would say that it is really hart at first, but once you start playing it for a while it gets really fun! I was suprized when I had first bought a barn, a pig had shown up in my barn and a big fat guy named Goumat gave me him, he was soooo cute, and I named him Pinky!!! I love my dog, I named him Moon and soo far I named him Moon! The only part that I dont like about the game is the begining because it takes soooooooo long, and I had to do that 12 times untill I looked in my diary, and your diary is how you save it Duuu. I hate Jamie soo bad, I could just rip her head of and give it to a Hyena!!!! She got my animal sick and befor ya know it, pow, my animal died. Ow well, I got to afford another one lukley! Here are some advice for the game:
1. to make money, collect herbs in the mountains and ship them: green=100g purple=80g red=85g and orange= 150g
2. to get hoever you want to mary or be ffiends with, talk to them every day and\or give them a presant, food, object
3. To win horse races, ride your horse every day untill its tired or a star goes up.
4. feed cows or sheep, or it leaves you without milk and eggs.

I thought this game was great. It was a definite improvement from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. You can do a lot more and it keeps you occupied. The only disappointing aspect about it is that your kid can't grow up. Otherwise, I definitely recommend it.

This game is so innocent and so additive and so fun! It is definitely a nice break from shooters, rpgs, and racing for me. Warning though..it's very addictive! lol My wife and I got hooked on it! =) It's a very long game though and pretty typical of the past HM titles...farming, fishing, mining, getting married, etc... I won't post any spoilers here except that you don't have to acquire all 100 notes to beat the storyline. If you are like me and don't want to play for umpteen hours, then you will more than likely stop after the main storyline is over b/c by that time you will have played so many hours already! lol But if you are hardcore and want 100%, you will be there for quite a while and definitely get your money's worth. Graphic-wise this game is so cute! Defintely a nice break from Far Cry and Halo and such. Just a nice, easy-going, do what you want at your own pace type of game. I highly recommend this title to exiting HM fans and to newcomers as well. Enjoy! =)
