A great Bloody Roar title!

Bloody Roar: Primal Fury is a lot of fun. Its graphics are lovely, controls fairly easy to master (but also somewhat challenging), and the voice acting is great. It sports an all-star (amongst the dubbing world anyway) English voice cast, in fact, including Jennifer Hale, Lex Lang, and Quinton Flynn. This is how a Bloody Roar game should be.

The only problem with this game is that it does not delve into the storyline behind Bloody Roar; this is a common problem amongst Bloody Roar games and I found myself confused about character relationships because this is the first game in the series that I played. If you're looking for the story behind it all, attempt to find Bloody Roar 2 for the PS1 (possibly the first Bloody Roar as well, but that's the only one besides EXTREME I haven't played). Bloody Roar 3 has a little bit of story as well, but not much.

Primal Fury, like the rest of the games, does explain Zoanthropes (the type of fighter you'll be playing), so you'll at least have a handle on that. If you're looking for something to pick up and have fun with, but not too much story, Primal Fury is a great choice.

Could be better

The game is a great fast paced fighting game. Morphing into animals or beast form to fight with is even better. There are some things I like and somethis I dislike about this game.

Things I like

1. Awesome environments with destructable arena walls.
2. Nice looking characters.
3. A variety of different fighting styles.

Things I dislike

1. Not enough characters. How hard can it be to come up with a new character. I've played this game on the 2 other systems also. Both PS2 and XBOX and they all seem to have the same characters. If they can give the game a different title for diffent systems then why not more characters?
2. Music? very repetitive. Get a better selection of music.
3. Well I don't really have a 3rd dislike. I've pretty much covered my dislikes. ( but a penguin? come on. Might as well put a frog or toad on here too or how about a gnat? Ha )

this game was almost as good as tekken

this is one of my other favorites games for gc i brought it n da late spring eary summer of 2002 da graphics is off the ratings i am da game characters look like a human being but they are not human beings they are computerized robots on tv that u can control da places in the game are nice when u give ur game opponents a good beating they usually go out the arena one of my favorite places was fighting at the san fransico bridge during the club hours and i could kick the game characters off the sidewalk and into the streets when they would get hit by a truck or a car that was very funny something like the lady getting hit by da bus when crossin da street on the wayan brothers show the replay n this game is amazing u can control it a little at the end of the game when u give the opponent a good hit the game will replay the brutal hit the u gave ur opponent and da good thing is u could replay it as many times as u like and make some use out sometimes when u continously replay what u did 2 ur opponent it sounds like u are makin a catching beat after a while u hear a catchy tune true me i glad they included the females n da game all of them are hot

This is just another mediocre fighting game... fairly mediocre graphics, same old kicks and punches... oo turning into animals? thats new... but poorly done... trust me, if your into arcade style fighting games give Soul Calibur II a spin, or if your just into fighting games period get Super Smash Bro. Melee.

Let the FUR fly! Morphing battles!

Lions, tigers and bears ... oh my! This game is a pretty straight forward "Mortal Kombat" style fighting game with a twist! And it's a rather bizarre twist at that ... your fighter can become an animal! And when he/she does morph into their inner beast they have very special powers. And the animals range from bats and tigers to chameleons, elephants, and insects. I always laugh when Alice turns into a big fluffy white rabbit and starts kicking tail like Peter Rabbit with road rage!

It's a well designed game with good graphics. The sounds are fine. And the controls are easy to learn. My only complaint is the combos are longer than Mortal Kombat's typical moves. It's definitely not as complex or breathtaking as Soul Calibur, but if you want simplicity and a twisted sense of humor you're in the right ring! Some characters are better than others in the fights, so it's a challenge to find them or use subpar characters to climb the ranks.

Fun, simple, and sort of twisted! What's not to love?

"Bloody Roar: Primal Fury" For GC

"Bloody Roar: Primal Fury" For the Gamecube is a large leap for the series. This game's most spectacular and addicting, (Or the very thing that makes it tacky and stupid) is it's theme. If you like the thought of humans fighting with an alter ego animal side, along with a japanese flair, then you'll love it. For me, it's very refreshing in comparison to overly serious games like "Tekken 4" or "Soul Calibur 2". And it has a lot more meaning than "Super Smash Brother's Melee". It's expansively superior in it's noble yet somewhat innocent theme. If you don't like the theme, than I extremely advise you not to get this game or any one of it's incarnations because they're all the same in that way.

BLOODY ROAR: PRIMAL FURY: An addition to the unique series.

"Bloody Roar: Primal Fury" is a series of it's own sort and with it's own taste. Judged by other fighting games, this one lacks in a couple fields. Although this is true, and fans of the fighting genre might slightly look down upon it, this game is a very "self absorbed" one. Meaning: That it's rank is somewhere in the middle of the "food chain", because wiether you like it or not will depend on what you find good and bad in a game. I started playing with the third addition; And even though I didn't know the background of the series, I got to enjoying it, and in the end I was hooked. What drew me to this game is what others find a downfall. It's simplicity. Because although the ever-popular Soul Calibur series is much more advanced, it puts more stress on the players than those who have played Bloody Roar. In conclusion, this game's simplicity is it's highest or lowest factor, depending on the reviewer.
