One of the greatest games for the SNES is finally back!!

Ah, I remeber way back in 1995 when my Aunt came to my house. She brought over a bunch of games for us to play. As I looked through the pile, I noticed Super Mario World, a game I had played before. I quicly grabbed it and then noticed another game... I instantly recognized Yoshi on the cartridge, so I decided to try it out. Within 5 minutes I fell in love with this game. It had awesome gameplay, sweet graphics, and a beautiful storyline. I borrowed it from my Aunt for about a year, and finally forked it over. After she moved, she lost her SNES and her games. I was depressed that I could no longer play Yoshi's Island. Then, when I first heard of the rumors of Yoshi's Island on GBA, I went nuts. I bought it and I was infatuated once again with the beautiful platformer. Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 has all of the old Levels and the tricks and treats of the SNES version. The controller is easy to master and feels great. After you complete the game, 6 new challengeing levels are accessible. This game is packed with hours and hours of fun! Bottom line: BUY IT.

I love this game!

Fred's Review:
9/10 stars

Everyone has a hero, who's your hero? Mine's Yoshi because ,er he rocks. Kamek, the evil magikoopa attacks the stork that's carrying baby Mario and baby Luigi but he only nabs baby Luigi but Baby Mario falls towards Yoshi's Island! After discussing it with his friends, Yoshi decides to reunite them both. But Yoshi has to go through 48 levels and 12 unique bosses to do that. Nintendo's games are easy to pick up and speed up and difficulty later on. Perhaps this is why Nintendo's games are top-sellers. You shouldn't have any trouble getting through the first 2 WORLDS not levels WORLDS. When you get to Worlds 5-6, then you be getting mad and watching the live counter go down, but just to tell you that happened to me and I just kept on playing and beat it. Some of the later bosses are harder to find their weakness but remember they have PATTERNS. I still find myself playing through the colorful levels with great backrounds and music.

Too MUCH Fun

This game is AWESOME! It was my first GBA game. BUT, there are some cons. Some levels are just too long and/or impossible. Many times I think i just get lucky. Anyway, my dad saw it and didn't put it down until he beat the game. (no, he didn't play for 24 hours straight.) A fantastic game for mario lovers (like me.) A great idea would be to BUY IT!

The game is Yoshi's Island for gameboy advance. If you don't know what a yoshi is they are dinosaur-like creatures.Yoshi's can be of many different colors.
You might have seen yoshi on other games: Mario Party, Mario Party 2, and Mario Party 3 have yoshi in them. There are other games too. Most video game fans must know what a yoshi is.
I liked the game very much. It was exciting and adventarous. I liked making eggs. To make eggs you eat a enemy and poop out an egg. You can only have six eggs at a time. You throw eggs at enemys and mystery clouds.
As I said the game is great. There's only thing I would
improve and that is the number of battle castles should increase from 2 to 4 to make it more exciting.
If you like video games play it. I wasn't sure at first, but when I started playing I felt that I was in a different world.
I strongly recommend to all you game fans.... well enjoy.

This game is great. I really enjoyed it! The object of the game is to get Mario back to his parents before Kamek's forces take him away. You have to control Yoshi and you can never lose him (not like Mario world) instead you lose baby Mario if you get him by an enemy. You have to catch hime before the timer reaches 0. You have to travel through six worlds before you complete the game. It's kinda like Yoshi's story. It's a great game. You should buy it.

Snes to GBA... I LOVE IT!

First off I'd like to say I've been playing Super Mario World, Yoshi's island just about as long as I can remember. I still love it! I won't review the game all that much, just the port.

The arcade game is just awesome! And the addition of Yoshi Story voices are cool too. The music is awesome, same as the snes version (a few of the tracks instrumentation are different due to the differences in the GBA synthesizer vs. the snes') However the sound is alil' low quality because of the smaller cartridge, but if you put it in the gameboy player for gamecube you don't notice.

Now you might wonder why I rated it 3 stars overall. It's because of the GBA buttons. I'm used to snes so it gets tedious with those small buttons, making it even more difficult.

graphics:10/10
sound:9/10
Difficult: very ( I'm 12 and I just beat it for the 1st time about a week ago. It's alot easier once you beat it for the first time, but still difficult)
Control:6/10

Because of the small screen and buttons I still usually just play the snes version, and play this version if I'm in the car for a long time or traveling. Pick it up if you travel alot, otherwise, stick with the snes.

Just so good.........

The story is that Kamek has kidnapped Baby Mario's brother, Baby Luigi. He kidnapped them because he knew the Bros. were going to cause havoc to Bowser later on.
Anyway, the stork ends up dropping Baby Mario and Yoshi catches him. You will go from level to level trying to find Baby Luigi and the Bros. parents.
The gameplay is simple, go from point A to point B. But it can be hard. Yoshi can only die if you touch an object that is a one-hit KO (Such as lava, spikes, or a bottomless pit). If Yoshi gets hurt, he will instead lose Baby Mario in a bubble. You need to have him on your back. If he is in the bubble, other enemies can get him and such. In the corner of the screen will be a timer, once it runs out, Baby Mario will be kidnapped by Kamek's henchmen and you will lose a life.
There are styish moves for Yoshi. He can float in the air. Ground pound by pressing down in the air. Your main weapon will be eggs. You can get these by either eating enemies or from a container. You throw them around and anyone in the way is a goner. There are different types of eggs. Find them all.
If you find a certain area in a level, you can tranform into things such as a car or helicopter. I'll hush on that.
In order to get the game to 100% completion, you need to do three things. You need to get five flowers, 30 red coins, and 30 stars.
The coins give you a life.
The more flowers you have, the more likely you are to get a bonus game.
The stars allow Baby Mario to stay off of Yoshi back longer. You can only get 30 stars (30 seconds of time max).
There are two bosses per world and boy are they good. They each have a special weak point. But remember the 30 star rule. Boss levels are very hard to get a 100% on.
The graphics are beautiful. The cave is my favorite. The background is dark, full of vines and plants and dripping water. The graphics were not tamper with in the translation.
Sound is beautiful too. The music fits the situation and does a even better job discribing it.
I really cannot find anything wrong with this game. One of its best qualities is the innocence of a child and inserting it into you.
This is my favorite Super NES game of all time.

I strongly recommend it.

PS. Skills and traits do not differ at all between the colors of Yoshis.

Strange question and fact: In this game they have the first appearance of Bowser's.......
um.........
I don't know. I will say....
Nanny! The first appearance of Bowser nanny, Kamek. In this game they refer to Kamek as a "he". But when it came to later titles such as Paper Mario, Kamek was a woman. Huh!?!?

This game is a MUST for all serious gamerz!

I am not really a gameboy specialist, but I love this game! The graphics and sound are so clear!
What do you do on the game? Everything! The first thing that happens is you hear the story about how baby Mario got mixed up into all of this. Then you play a, well, sort of level. Here you get the instructions of how to do things.Yoshi can do so many things and he is not inabled to one power like running or jumping like in some games. Then you really play your first stage. The point in this game is to get Mario back to where Luigi is. He is at the last stage. There are like 7 stages in every world. There are tons of worlds. To put it simply, this is not one of those games that you finish the first day you get it. But you also will not get frusterated and bored within the first 30 minutes. You could play this game 24/7 and not get board. This sounds like the game anyone should invest in for max. entertainment, doesn't it?

P.S. Warning! May cause lack of sleep, but thats the only bad thing!
