What a great game. This is THE BEST YOSHI GAME I've ever played, and THE BEST GBA GAME I've ever played. You play as Yoshi and you guide him and Baby Mario through an array of levels, much like an older Mario side scroller. Everything about this game is great, except some levels you MAY find a little hard, or repetetive, but for me this game was almost perfect.
GRAPHICS: 5/5. Of course the graphics deserve a 5/5. It's a YOSHI game, you can't expect a 3D game. The cartoony graphics fit well in this game, and the backgrounds are very nice.
SOUND: 4.5/5. The sound is very good. Most levels, and all worlds have different music, it's just that some people may find it annoying.
CONTROL: 5/5. Can't be any easier. B to pick someone up with your tongue, press down when he's in, you got an egg. To throw an egg press R, wait for where you want to press, and press R again.
FUN: 5/5 Very good game, although a bit repetetive, it deserves a rental or a buy anyways for sure.
Love Yoshi and Mario

I am a mother of 5 grown children and I bought this game for myself, yes I love playing gameboy advance! I have played this game on SNES when my children were still at home. I like the graphics and the sound. some of it is a bit tough for me and I have to have one of my older kids beat the boss for me. I havent finished it yet but I will.

I was torn between 2 gba games. Metroid fusion and yoshis island. Well let me tell you yoshis island is one of the best games i have ever played. And im serious about that. It is so addictive and so fun. The graphics are the best i have ever seen and has already won awards for how outstanding it is. And the sound is even better, every time yoshi sticks out his tongue or loses baby mario its incredible. I recommned this game to everyone if u didnt play the orignal back in 1995. Even its old its amazing. It even has multiplayer. Do yourself a favor and run and pick this game up. Yoshi' s list of moves is great. He can push rocks down hills to roll over enemies, swallow enemies and turn them into eggs to throw, he can jump and then hover, he can also ground pound which is very usefull. Its so cool when mario gets his cape cause he gets ahead of yoshi and can run up walls.
The level design is extradonarily good. From castles to snowwy mountains. This game totally blew me away and i cant wait to beat it.

I am 6 years old. My Mom is writing this from what I am saying.
I like it because it has Yoshi and he is my favorite character. When Baby Mario gets the little star, Yoshi turns into an egg and Baby Mario can run upsidedown. You get to battle bad guy characters in the castles. I like the name of the game. If you beat a bad guy on the last castle, then you get the giant golden key for Baby Mario to get to the next world. I like Mario characters alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had never played this game on the SNES so I was completely unprepared for it's brilliance. Since I picked up this game little else has been on my mind! Everything from graphics to story and featurees is handled expertly. I can't imagine a Mario game getting much better. In fact, i'd go so far to say that this IS the best Mario game ever created!
What was most impressive to me was how easily the game flows. Unlike other games where you are constanly going over and over the same area trying to reach the goal, after three or four tries I was able to move on to the next section. That's also made possible by the short levels. Now don't let that scare you into thinking that the game is short thought, because it's anything but. There are so many levels and ares in the game that you'll easily be playing for 15 hours. Thankfully you don't have to play straight through though as you can save after you complete each level. This is a terrific game for all levels of videogame players.
Do yourself a favor and buy this game if you have a GBA.
Cute enough, but I just can't get into it

Super Mario World 2: Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Phew! How about that for a title. I admit I found it a bit confusing putting these Mario Advance games in order but I think I've figured it out now. You gotta admit it's a bit convoluted.
This game is a simple 2D platformer like most of the retro Mario games only it has four more levels than the SNES version released in 1995. It's got easy-going gameplay in the typical Super Mario style, gorgeous graphics, generic sounds and not much to keep me interested. Yoshi IS impossibly cute but even for a guy who likes cute stuff this game is just TOO childish.

This game is really fun. It can definently become addictive. The only thing that I don't like about it is, is that noise Yoshi makes when he throws an egg or when he tries to hover. In the version for Super Nintendo it sounds a lot better and certainly more mature! Overall this is pretty much one of the best games i've ever played.

Back about 8 years ago when this game came out for the snes (back then known as super mario world 2: Yoshi's island)I was confused that if this was the sequel to super mario world 1, how can mario be a baby? I thought this game would ..., so i didn't buy it then. As it turned out, i was wrong. This game ROCKS!!! depite the fact that it is five times more difficult than its predecessor super mario world 1 (it was so easy, it took me less than a day to beat it) and more challenging too. I bought this game a few days back, and man, i am enjoying it alot despite the fact that it is difficult and requires lots of patience to beat the game. The graphics are great, the controls are awesome, and the music is too die for. For those of you who never played the snes version, get this game. it has 6 additional super tough levels since it's on the game boy advance and an extra level in each world if you can get a perfect score in each level. it's a pretty daunting task, but it's worth it. Trust me, buying this game for 30.00 is worth it, you won't regret it. well that's all folks, you figure the rest out on your own. gotta run, smell ya later.

I already have this game and you know what else? My brother, my sister, and I beat this game in about 2 months. Man, this game is challenging! When my mom bought it, I squealed with joy and started jumpin' for joy. This game is not for babies. Everyone knows who Yoshi is. The object of this game is to beat all the levels and unite baby Mario and baby Luigi at the end. Also at the end, you have to beat baby Bowser. Watch out for Bandit's because they try to capture Mario who is riding on Yoshi's back. If you find a super star, Baby Mario turns into Superstar Mario, who can fly, run up walls and dash. Before beating Bowser you have to beat Burt the Bashful, Salvo the Slime, Bigger Boo, The Potted Ghost,Prince Froggy,Naval Piranha,Marching Milde, Hookbill the Koopa, Sluggy the Unshaven, Raphel the Raven,Tap Tap the Red Nose, and Last but not least, BOWSER! Then the stork grabs the babies and drops them off at home. Half of them are forts and the other half are castles. Once you beat a castle, it turns into a flag on the island. Thats all I have to say!
Bye ^-^

I remember when this first came out on the SNES almost 10 years ago and how it got rave reviews. I thought it was ok, but then again, I was in 5th grade at the time. Now that it's been re-released, I can see that it's probably one of the best platform games to come out on any system.
The game's premise is simple enough- baby Mario and Luigi have been seperated when the stork was taking them to their parents. Mario lands in a jungle where tons of Yoshis are, and it's their job to help him reunite with Luigi so they can get to their parents. Yoshi attacks by eating enemies, throwing eggs, stomping/jumping on them, and in some cases: transforming into vehicles (hoo boy). Watch out though, if Yoshi is hit, Mario flies off his back and you only have a few seconds to get him back before he gets carried off by enemies. When enemies surround you, this can be quite the rush since when Yoshi is hit at this time, he falls over for a second, making time more precious. But gameplay is easy- anyone age 10 and up can figure this out in no time.
The music is incredibly catchy. I liked it a lot better than Super Mario World's for the majority. You've got to love the boss music (especially during the final fight. I even learned how to play that on bass). Yeah, Mario's cry gets annoying at times, but if you're good, you won't be hearing it much. Graphics, I didn't think were very good when I first played this on the SNES. I always saw the Donkey Kong Country series as much more impressive, and couldn't get into the whole crayon-like designs. Now that I see the 'advanced' (at the time) CG combined with regular sprites, I can see how Yoshi's Island was one of the best looking games that year. Heck, it looked better than most N64 games. And as a plus- there isn't any slow down.
There aren't many extras put into the game. We get Super Mario Bros. (the arcade version)...for the 3rd time. Please Nintendo, stop releasing this thing. Nobody is going to freak out if you don't put it out on every Mario port. The game is a little fun, but even with 2-4 players it can only be fun for so long. I'm not sure but I think they threw in extra levels. I remember the SNES version had one extra level for each world if you got the max score, but here, there are two. That still adds some replay, as does being able to go back to every level to get high scores. And it seems easier to get 1-ups for some reason. 'weird.
Mario veterans should love this, or anyone that never experienced SNES classics definately need to pick this one up. Some levels may be hard for beginner gamers though. Heck, I still have trouble with some of the levels in the middle of the game. Like everyone else says, you can always start up this game after months, and it'll still be fun. And who knew that dinosaurs turning into trains and submarines could be so cool?
