This game is great if you have time to boost your confidence and skate like the pro's! There are 3 cool modes that will last you for a long time! There's a Career mode that will let you collect cash, boost your skater's abillities, and earn you cool new areas. You can skate with Tony Hawk, Eric Koston, Buckey Lasek, and more. If In Career Mode if you can't unlock a level, just free skate! Free Skating is for the gamers that don't want to use time in Career Mode, or gamers that want to find hidden things in Career Mode without a time limit. And last but not least, to practice and get a stradgy for Career Mode, you can do a Single Session. This will help you in Career Mode EXTREMELY! So, do some grabs, get some air, and skate safe with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2! P.S. Activision is GREAT!
It is amazing that this game is so great

This game is one of the best I have ever played. As a veteran (of-sorts) of Tony Hawk games I know that this is fun. The game's graphics are by far the best thing a handheld system has produced, and what really amazed me was when I took the cartridge out of the box and put it in my GBA: The thing's tiny. Just proves how good games on the GBA are. The game holds the flavor of the second having you collect cash to progress. The view is a bit of a shock first but it is easy to get used to. The controls are really inventive and are almost as easy to use as console versions of THPS. The leves are a little weird though, escpecially when compared to the console versions. The levels are mostly from THPS2 but the Warehouse is from THPS (a favorite) that still contains all the same fun as the original version. The levels have nearly all the same halfpipes, rails, and ramps as the original two, just some of the things are taken out. It's no big deal though. The only weird thing is that in the levels most of the time, you feel like the skater is tiny and the level itself is huge, but when compared to console versions the level proportions are the same, just this game's isometric view kind of screws up the proportions. It's no big deal but is weird when you think about it. I love this game and play it all the time but some may believe the learning curve is hard. I was fine with the game but it does take a while to get enough cash to progress through levels. All in all worth your money and the most decent game for the GBA yet.
they finally got it right

Tony Hawk 2 for the GBA brought a new twist to the world (and industry) of portable gaming: FUN. Prior to this game there weren't too many reasons to go out and by a portable system. Just be honest; the Gameboy Color doesn't quite cut it...there may be a vast selection of games for the system but how many are worth your money?
Hawk 2 clocks in at 40 dollars, which is the high-end for Advance titles, however it is soon apparent that the game is worth every penny. Pretty much all the features (including playability) of the Playstation/N64 versions are here---the pros, the smooth action, tricks, as well as locations to skate. It should be noted that there is no Create-A-Skater function available on this game, despite what you may have read on various internet sites (hint hint). The controls do take a little while to get wired, but once you do, it becomes second nature.
Gripes? I have a couple. Some areas of the parks/locations you skate are too dark. Also, depth perception is annoying at times; you think your skater is on point to land on a ledge, rail, etc and in reality he flies right over it and into a wall. The music is pretty bad---I turned it off first thing and haven't had anymore nightmares.

This GBA title has been seemingly swept off every store shelf in America. With a huge line of skaters including Kareem Campbell, Eric Koston, Bucky Lasek, and of course Tony Hawk himself. In this sequel you get to skate new areas like School 2, New York City, and Skate Street. As well as enjoying a level from the original, the Warehouse in Troy. With an array of challening tasks to complete in each level, and secrets to unlock, it's no wonder everyone loves the sequel to ,in my opinion the greatest skating game of its time, THPS 1! However I strongly believe this one has outdone its original couterpart. Especially with the enhanced graphics and better play control on the Gameboy Advance! Activision has truly done a great job desinging this on folks. Pick it up as soon as you can!

Although the handheld market does not have many other games in this genre to compare against, this easily stacks up against the others. Containing all of the play mechanics from the previous console versions, this plays and looks like a gem. Since the GBA can barely handle 3D, it uses a three-quarters isometric view instead of the begind-the-back third-person view home console gamers are used to. Although getting used to this perspective takes a couple of sessions worth of getting used to, you soon won't notice this unconventional view. The trick system handles perfectly, as only four buttons are needed for the ollieing, grinding, grabbing and flipping. Although I find the default control setup the most comfortable, there is the option to change it. The gameplay modes include your basic trick attack (try to get high scores), career (try to complete all the levels as your favorite skater), and training (self explanatory). After beating these various play modes, you will open up cheats, hidden skaters, and a new level. The only reason why this game received four stars is the lack of multiplayer mode, create-a-skater and create-a-level modes. Although this may be an unfair criticism, as the Activision just could not fit everything into the game, I find that the inability to skate with your friends greatly reduces the replay value. Even if you did not like the console versions of this game, I would recommend renting this game if you do not buy it. At the very least, go to your local video game retailer to try it out and help to further your decision.

When I first played this game, I thought it was going to be the best. I had no idea on how the graphics were, but I heard that they were great. I thought the view of the game was going to be lik DreamCast or like the PS2, but when I played the view totally (stunk). I wished that the makers of the game would've made a better view. If the view for THPS 3 are'nt better then THPS 2 than I won't buy it. Thats why I gave it a three stars

This is one of the best games yet for the GBA. The graphics and animation are some of the smoothest and just plain best (especially compared to games like Dexter's Deesaster Strikes).
Although the game has been toned down from the PLay Station and N64 versions, it still retains some really great playability.

Actually im 13 but my age was not on the form, anyways: I bought this game when it first came out and i am still playing it today. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 for gameboy advance is an amazing game. It plays just like its console versions on playstation and dreamcast besides a few changes due to the gameboys limited hardware capabilities.I would deffinately have to say that this is the best skating game on the market, considering i am a skater;even though almost everyone i know that loves it isnt a skater. This game is the closest thing to real skating there is.Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 puts you right in middle of insane skateboarding. It's easy to learn yet hard to master and will keep you hooked.I would recomend this game to everyone tall and small. You dont have to be a skater to like this game, it will catch you from the beginning no matter who you are. It is the greatest skating game *ever* - period.
One of the better ones...

I've had a Gameboy Advance for the past few months, and I would have to say, this game stands out as one of the best. The animation is fluid and the action is exciting. Yes, it does have a steep learning curve...it takes a while to get a feel for turning and doing tricks at first, but once you get past that hurdle, everything clicks and it becomes fun trying to find all the items necessary to complete each level, while also learning how to perform various flying skate tricks. This one gets my stamp of approval.
nice game. won't dissapoint fans.

I borrowed this game from my friend and it is pretty cool. It has levels like the n-64 version plus some new ones. it also has the warehouse from thps1 which is really cool. it doesn't have a multiplayer but it doesn't matter beacause if it did you would just take turns so i see who gets the best score on single session. career mode can get annoying cause you have to earn money to get levels, and you also buy specials and upgrade your stats with it. i liked earning 5 tapes a level better but i don't think they will go back to that.one thing that bugs me is tricks get repetitive. you can only buy special tricks so your skater always has the same flips, grabs, etc. however, if you get really good, then you can earn characters like spider-man, mindy, and the shadow. one neat thing is that you always have a goal to accomplish, like making all the gaps, or beating the game with different characters.there aren't that many levels. the goals are pretty hard, too. i would have liked it to be more like the first one which you can't get for gba. all in all, if your a fan, and you patient enough you should get this game.
