Don't expect much from the mini games

The mini games are horrible, but the 1 player adventure mode is great. Using the Wii remote works and feels so much better then a regular controller. The later levels get pretty frustrating but it's really a lot of fun.

Great for little kids, not adults

My three year old loves this game. He doesn't play the main levels, just a handful of the mini-games, but plays them repeatedly. And asks every day. Worth the money for me, but if I was a single adult, I would probably pass for the $50 I spent.

Just OK!

Like many other of the reviewers, I have to admit, the "fun" little mini games can be very hard to play. I bought this thinking it was a fun game that wouldn't take much effort, so not the case, Sure they do have some simple fun games, but for the most part it'll takes a lot of getting use to. On the other hand the actual game isn't that bad, not that intriguing though, so I doubt i'll invest the time to actually beat it. In all, its just OK!

Kind of a let down

This game is still fun (a monkey in a ball HAS to be fun, right?), but it seems to lack the party draw that Rayman has. The mini-games are entertaining, but just not as fun as other Wii games and they lack the wacky presentation that we've seen in other games like Rayman and Warioware. Overall, it's a pretty mediocre game.

WORST GAME EVER MADE

This is by far the worst waste of my money, ever. The controls are terrible and i mean terrible. It makes it too frustrating to play. I strongly recommend you do NOT purchase this game. Youve been warned.

This was the worst waste of 7 dollars

This was the worst waste of seven dollars to rent a video game, ever! We returned it the same night we rented it! The play control was awful, and I agree with the review that said the wii sport's control is better. Way better. I would never pay full price for this. Matter of fact, I wouldn't buy it used either. If this is your first purchase into the Wii system, seriously consider something else. Rayman Raving Rabbids is way, way better if you are looking for fun minigames and a good introduction into the wii remote's method of control.

I was hoping for so much more

This is the first title that I have played on the Wii where I was annoyed that the over use of the Wii's unique controls. It tries to be so original that some games are nearly unplayable. There are many places where using the analog thumbstick on the Nunchuck would have been a much better control solution than moving the Wiimote towards and away from the screen.

This was purchased with the idea of having a nice party game. Unfortunately, it is much too hard to pick up the controls on many of the games and the people who are not really familiar with the Wii just get frustrated. Wii Sports was much better for party play. I would also recommend the new Rayman game over this.

A well-crafted peice of entertainment

This is a good game and with Zelda, something you should get for your Wii. It has deep Singleplayer levels and lots of Multiplayer action. Although everything isn't perfect, mainly some of the Multiplayer games, it is very good and you will get alot of entertainment for your bucks.

Best Party Game

We love this game and the wide variety of activities it covers. Whether you are 50 or 10 this game plays well. Some games require nunchucks for all players and having multiple wemotes is a definite plus for this game. While you don't have to be a dedicated gamer to enjoy this one (I'm not), somehow the kids do seem to catch on faster but with a little practice adults can now compete with their teens on a video game....certainly do appreciate the wii for bringing famlies into gaming.

Good Game, Seems rushed out...

You don't have to play the game forever to unlock all the mini-games. But many of them are not very good. I was disappointed that the main game was single player only, guess I should have read the reviews first. But I had all the other Super Monkey Ball games and trusted the name, but this one is not up to par, especially with wii games costing $50. Yes the game works with the new controllers, and no we did not have trouble controlling the monkeys, but with a family of four waiting to play the main game, it is very annoying.

The whole product seems like they wanted out for the launch date so they cut corners. I can see them in the development room saying they could not have multi-player ready for launch, and knowing there would be an outcry, they decided hey why don't we just unlock all the mini-games, and create a few more, 50 sounds like a good number!

If you are a monkey fan and have the wii you are going to buy it anyways, if not I would wait until Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz II (You know it's coming!)
