IÕve been a SF fan for a long time. After purchasing my GBA earlier this year, I discovered that SF alpha for GB color does not play too well on the GBA. Well in response to the GBAÕs screen glitch I purchased this version of the popular Capcom title, and I chose a winner! This game has more pack and punch than any SF game I have ever played! It just simply rocks! Some recommendations as to the choice of fighters that are poweful are: Choose Fei-Long, heÕs a Bruce Lee imitator and almost fights like him. HeÕs my favorite character in this version, and typically pounds most of his opponents! Guy was extremely powerful in the GB color version, but in this version he cannot drop throw as easily like he could before. Purchase this game and have fun!

Street Fighter perfection; well almost

After delay, and delay, and delay, I really wasn't looking forward to the GBA conversion of Street Fighter Alpha 3 and I was dreading to see how it would play, but I was pleasently surprised. Nearly every aspect of it's arcade, PS1, and Dreamcast counterpart is here with a few minor tweaks, and fighting game fans who own a GBA will find something to love with this game. The characters are a bit smaller but are still fluidly animated and look surprisingly good on the small GBA screen while the soundbits are good as well. The game's biggest flaw is the control scheme (as expected) and it will take quite a bit of time for Street Fighter veterans to get used to the GBA's button layout. Special moves are a bit harder to pull off, while the super moves require even more patience to learn due to the control layout, but once they are learned they will get easier and easier to pull off. All in all, with the lineup of fighting games on the GBA, Street Fighter Alpha 3 only pales in comparison to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo Revival, but Street Fighter fans who own a GBA should definitely give this a try.

Based on the Dreamcast version . . .

I've played the Dreamcast, PSX, and Arcade versions of this game, and it is THE 2-D fighting game by which all others should be compared. This game essentially has everything the Dreamcast version has, including 3 new characters from Capcom vs. SNK 2. Capcom did great with Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival for the GBA, and I trust this will not disappoint either.

Though I have yet to play the game, I have seen videos of it - the animation is smooth and the graphics are honestly comparable to the Dreamcast version. And the best part is . . . it's portable!!!

This is a must have for any Street Fighter fan, and quite frankly, for any Gameboy gamer!

This is an amazing fighting game!!!

Street Fighter Alpha 3 saw delay after delay. After awhile, I got tired of waiting and tried other games. When I saw this game at the store, I got it for myself as a Christmas present. This game is worth the wait. All the famous Street Fighter characters are here, with their signature moves, like hadoken and shoryuken. The characters are full of animation, surprising for such many characters. The game's only downside is that some combos like Akuma's Messatsu Gao Hado are very difficult to pull off. Other than that, this is a great fighting game. GBA owners with a taste for fighting should definitely try out Street Fighter Alpha 3.

Looks Cool

I have no doubt that this will be an awesome game. I've seen screenshots & read reviews about it in Game Pro & EGM. The graphics are about GBA'S best they look like the psx's graphics witch is good for a handheld. Gamepro said it was extremely fun and a must but for GBA owners and fighting junkies.

This game rocks!

The minuite I picked up this game I wuz hooked. The special moves are a bit hard to pull off, but amazing when u manage it. Final Bison is reeealy hard to beat, but the sweet ending movies make up for it. If you liked Turbo Revival you'll love it!

Good but could have been better

The GBA's SSF2:TR was practically identical to the arcade original (and that's not a bad thing). Still I wasn't expecting the handheld port of the advanced SFA3 to be nearly as faithful to the coin-op version. This game looks an awful lot like it did back in the arcades. Even the smooth character animations hold up. Aside from the pretty graphics, the gameplay is also topnotch. All the special moves (even though some are [difficult] to pull off) and combos are in there waiting to be pulled off, of course you might have some trouble executing those moves on the GBA's small directional pad. Moves that require circular motions are especially tough to pull off (even though I tried). Slightly busted control aside, this is an exceptional port. They even added some new characters that are exclusive to this version only. All in all, SFA3 is well worth your time.

A Great Game!

This game has a ton of stuff packed on the disk. There is also a lot of stuff to unlock and will make players who like to do this do a lot of work. If you are just a casual player, then you will be pleased to know this game has codes to unlock everything. Besides the characters, the unlocks are very unique and neat. Also, the different modes are cool. The dramatic mode pairs you up with another person and you fight two against one. The training mode lets you practice and you can set up the opponent to do different things, like jump. The survival mode overlaps the other modes a little as you can chose different other modes like Dramatic, but instead see how many character you can beat without losing. Also, you can chose your partner.
Some negatives are in the game as well. On a sunset level, it is really hard to see the life meter gauge for the characters. Also for an older gamer, it is hard to use L and R buttons since the GBA is small. Another problem is it is hard to do some moves, like teleporting.
Besides this, Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a sweet game!

Best GBA Game Yet

I like this game because there are many ways to control the fighters, and the fighters look good. Lots of action. Every fighter has his/her own style. Instantly playable, yet with many levls of complexity. Be sure to look for the spectators watching the fights. Great game. What a blast.

Handheld fighting perfection... almost.

The graphics, amount of characters and special moves, amount of fighting options, and sheer quality of this fighting game is borderline crazy. You get so much for a portable game thats two inches square.

Having Street Fighter with over 30 characters for on the go is awesome. You cant ask for anything more... well you kind of could.

The only thing that stinks in this game, and its a big stinker, is the control. On a console controller or in the arcade i could bust out 50 fireballs in a row without a sweat. This game is a different story. The small size of the GBA/DS makes performing these special moves extremely tough. After 10 minutes of this game i feel like i need Bengay or some cream from the arthritis that this game is giving my fingers and hands. ;)

All in all this is a terrific title for short periods of time even though the control of some of the moves are painful to pull off.
