This is the latest addition to the pokemon games. If you thought Pokemon crystal was good, You got something coming!
This game follows up AFTER the crystal versions. The girl and the guy appear so different but cool. The pokemon are animated and in MORE color. You can have tag team battles and more! A must have!

Is This Really A Pokemon Game?

Whoa! I bought this game thinking it was going to be alot like the older versions (Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, and Gold). It's not! It's a lot better. Look:

Sounds - (9/10) They finally ditched the "Pokemon Can Only Say Their Names" thing, so now they actually sound like wild animals. The fighting sounds are alot better, too.

Graphics - (10/10) This is a whole lot better than the other versions (excluding Ruby). You can actually see the colors, the people look like people, and everything else looks like it normally should.

Difficulty - (8/10) This game pretty much hits you hard from the beginning. The first Gym Leader has Pokemon at level 14 & 15! It forces you to train alot, but fortunetely, you can re-battle the people you've already fought (If they challenge, you!)

Music - (6/10) The music is pretty catchy, but after you've played the game for a while, they're just a distraction and a waist of battery power.

That's basically it! The game is fun and entertaining. Note: You might also want to buy the strategy guide to find out how to get cool items.

i think that this game is fun because
#1:100 new pokemon.I was getting bored of those old ones.
#2way better graphics; no more pixeles or dots on the screen.
#3cool legendary poKemon, KYOGER(on the front).
there is one down side to this, to get all of the pokemon, you have to trade with somebody who owns pokemon Ruby
Example: sedot in excange for lotad.

Wow...

I've loved Pokemon for the last 7 years. Words can not express how amazed I was when I first played this game. It's great. Revamped graphics, and a lot of problems fixed. It shouldn't matter if it's popular anymore, you should get it. It's a fun game, which gives hours on hours of fun. It's just that great.

If you wanted to capture every POKEMON in the Pokemon Sapphire or Ruby version you can all you really need is the GameBoy Advance Sp ( because you can play in the dark and no one's shadow won't be in the screen ) , the Action Replay ( that shows Kyogre and Groundon ) , and the Pokemon Sapphire version the Action Replay can get you every single pokemon in the entire game including ( DEOXYS , JIRACHI , ENTEI , RAIKOU , SUICUINE , HO-OH , LUGIA , MEW , MEWTWO , and ETC )

to catch old pokemon from

Red , Blue , Yellow , Gold , Silver , Crystal , you will have to find them in the grass on Route 101 to find old Pokemon at level 2-4 even a fully evolved Charizard , Blastoise , and Venusaur at a low lv.

to catch Honen pokemon

Ruby , Sapphire , Emerald

go to your PC and in the first box ( BOX 01 ) the pokemon that you wanted for example ( REGISTEEL ) would be in thier on the top left corner.

the Action Replay must be on at all time.

A just turned 13`s opinion...

Regardless of what people are saying this game has great graphics, compared to the older versions. It is missing pokemon intros in the battles though(Pokemon Crystal). This game is great for people who enjoy RPG games. If you want to get your moneys worth out of it, I recommend getting a link cable and the Ruby version. If you do so you can have 2on2 battles and trade pokemon that ARE NOT in this version with ones from ruby. Nintendo did a good job on this but is wearing it out by having basically the same storyline. Go around and beat gym masters and trainers and fight Team Aqua aka Team Rocket. In this version you can`t trade with other versions besides Ruby. And there are only about 200 out of 350 something pokemon you can capture. I feel that nintendo should move the next version to Game cube or take a leap in the the PC`ers realm. Nintendo did a good job with the Stadium version, on a game cube system at least it`ll be more into it with like 4x the current graphics.

Overall this is a good game for a beginner but for a seroius gamer who loves RPG`s you should go for something more along the lines of maturity. Thats my opinion on what I think about this game. The choice is totally yours though.

Pros:
Great Graphics
New pokemon
Easy Gameplay

Cons:
Basically the same storyline
Can`t trade with other versions (Y,B,R,C,G,S)
Need to buy other game to fully complete game
Needs new base system, PC Game cube.

gotta catch em all!

An Old Pokemon Game Player Review

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 4 / 5

Hello, this review is by a guy that's been playing pokemon since it came out. I use to bring it to school and play it behind my large backpack as my teacher preached her head off. Got a B by copying girls. Life. Anyways.

If you are new to pokemon, then this game should be great, why? A whole bunch of new pokemon. New stuff excites people, simple as that.

However, unlike most people, I also see the negitive part in a game. Thats what makes a review useful.

Bad Stuff:
-For those who have been playing pokemon since the old times, you SHOULD be really bored with its game play now. Why? Let me ask you this. Has the game really change? To me, all it really did was add a girl rival, some new pokemons, new objectives, journey and settings, and new version name. TA DA. The game play is practically the same old game play it was from the first game. You catch pokemon the same way, pokemon fight the same way, same o same o. Just a little bit of added items.

-Looking at some of the pokemons, you can tell they are getting desperate in creating them. Like they were in a rush. "Oh I know, a bear pokemon, lets see, lets make it a teddy bear with weird patterns and call it this and that. Man I'm on a roll!". You should look at Gold and Silver version, wow! Desperate?

-The pokemons are new but their stats and moves don't make them new. If you get my point. In fact, I think most of their lvl up moves are plain messed up and weak. Therefore making the game hard and even frustrating. The bug, plant, and poison pokemons are still stuck with extremely weak special attacks. The creators should play the game more before releasing stuff.

Don't you ever wonder why the people with little imaginations are running the world and the ones with it are stuck on a computer typing reviews? The pokemon show is dying and they do nothing about it other than simply adding on more episodes.

4.5 stars - A damn good portable RPG

Pokemon 3 (Ruby and Sapphire versions.) The third installment in the Game Boy Pokemon RPG series.

Nintendo's Pokemon franchise became a massive success in its native Japan relatively quickly. Although it took the franchise a little longer to catch on in America, it finally did catch on, and when it did, it took the nation by storm. Pokemon games and products sold like crazy, despite the fact that the franchise was virtually unrecognized in America at its time of release. By 2003, the phemonenon was pretty much dead in America, but still, Nintendo went ahead and released the two latest adventures in the series, Ruby and Sapphire. How do these games up? Read on for my review.

PROS:
-THIS GAME GIVES YOU MORE OF THE SAME MONSTER CATCHING AND BATTLING ACTION THAT YOU HAVE GROWN TO LOVE IN THE FIRST AND SECOND GAMES. To put it simply, if you liked the first game, it's quite unlikely that you won't like this one.
-THE GAME GRAPHICS ARE DRASTICALLY IMPROVED OVER THOSE OF THE PREDECESSOR TITLES. In this game, the graphics are not only improved, but the game is also optimized to make usage of the Game Boy Advance's thirty-two bit technology. It's nothing earth-shattering, but it's as good as a Game Boy Advance game like this can look!
-IT'S NOT JUST A REHASH OF EARLIER GAMES. Although the game uses the same general formulas, the game is entirely new, and the world is much larger this time around. Even after you beat the game, there is still a ton of stuff to do, like capture all of the creatures in the game and train new monsters. The game even introduces the concept of two-on-two battles!
-NINTENDO DESIGNED THIS GAME WITH PLAYER CONVENIENCE IN MIND. Remember how in the first games you had to go through all those menus just to use an item (like your bike or fishing pole?) Well, in this game, you can set the select button to use an item! This really comes in handy and speeds up the general flow of the game.
-TONS OF NEW CREATURES AND ABILITIES. Many of the old Pokemon are gone, but there are tons of new ones! And some of the new ones are pretty damn cool. Needless to say, there are new legendary ones as well.
-YOU CAN TRADE WITH POKEMON SAPPHIRE, AND THE UPCOMING FIRE RED AND LEAF GREEN GAMES. This is necessary to complete your Pokedex, since no one game has every creature.
-THE GAME REUSES THE CONCEPT OF BREEDING POKEMON. If you get a male and a female Pokemon together at the Daycare center, they just might lay an egg! This concept is necessary to get many of the "baby" Pokemon in the game.

CONS:
-YOU CAN'T TRADE WITH THE OLDER GAMES! This is a huge problem which is the major reason the game doesn't get a five-star rating in my book.
-MANY OF THE PROBLEMS THE OLD GAMES HAD WERE NOT FIXED FOR THIS GAME. Examples of this include not being able to rename Pokemon you get in trades, not being able to unlearn HM moves on your own, and the general pace of the game moving too slow.
-CONSIDERABLY MORE DIFFICULT THAN EARLIER GAMES. Chances are you're a gamer who is looking for a challenging portable RPG, but in many ways this game is TOO difficult. It seems that no matter how much you level up your monsters, it just doesn't seem to be enough in many places.
-THE MYSTERY EVENT/EON TICKET CONCEPT IS FLAWED. Why, you ask? YOU NEED AN E-READER FOR THEM! And, to say the least, the E-Reader is a rip-off! Why didn't Nintendo find another way to incorporate these elements into the game?
-WHY DOESN'T THIS GAME USE THE TIME OF DAY AND DAY OF THE WEEK SYSTEM THAT THE PREVIOUS GAMES USED? This was one of the best things about the previous games, and I am disappointed not to see it here.

OVERALL:
Pokemon 3 is a damn fine RPG, even if it doesn't quite top Pokemon 2. If you have a Game Boy Advance, this is an excellent game to add to your collection. A little word of advice - you can NOT get all of the Pokemon in one game, so if you get Ruby, you might want to make sure a friend owns or will buy Sapphire, or vice versa. Also, these games are going to be compatible with the forthcoming Fire Red and Leaf Green, so you might want to start building up monsters in this game now so that you can import them into that game when it comes out! Either way you look at it, Pokemon 3 is a damn good portable RPG.

Its alright

Although Pokemon Ruby may be a better game for the new upcoming season on pokemon I would advise you to get sapphire. First of all the name is better. Second of all Latias the little one has the power to beat Latios thats in the ruby version. Kyogre is in the sapphire version. Kyogre can easily beat the mess out of that ugly inferno beast of a crocadilian nature who lives in a volcano with no friends, just its [no fun] to play with. Don't by ruby..., buy sapphire because it plainly rocks with much better pokemon!
