This game looked interesting but its really kinda boring. Although its not awful like Metal Bots or anything like that, and this is why I gave it 3 stars. Some may like this game. I do not hate it, I just find it kinda boring and repetious.

very impressive

This is one of the great gbaa games ever. One of the best graphics for GBA and more. This should have a average of 5 stars. The gameplay is interesting, exciting, and fun.Thats why I call it one of the greatest gba games ever.

Okay Game!

This is an okay game because I bought it here online for [$]. If I paid full price for it, then I would be a little upset. It does has it's flaws and can very frustrating at times.

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure was good as a P.C version, and now, with it's arrival on GBA, it's even better, with sharper picture, clearer sound and impressive quality. The aim is to take Harry Jr. through the mayan jungles, forests, mines, temples and tooms, to find treasures, avoid crocodiles, tigers and other such nasties, and basically try to stay alive. It's a bit too difficult on some levels (Yaxchilan Lagoon and Toom of Palenque), but overall, it's good fun, with some added surprises and good-natured action. Kill those monkeys! Ha ha ha ha!

The original Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure was released almost 8 years ago for the Genesis and Super Nintendo, and I loved playing it on my Genesis, I played it constantly. When I heard it was being released on the GBA, I snatched it up, and it gives me a nostalgic feeling when I play it now. However, all of the problems that plagued the original are present here, the tediously designed levels and somewhat uninspired gameplay, but the good outweighs the bad. The graphics look better than ever, the animation and control is super smooth, and the backgrounds are nicely detailed. All in all, this new version of an old classic is a pretty good addition to your GBA library.

It's the pits....

Straight up, it's not worth the money. Not only is it clumsy to play, but it's incredibly boring. There are plenty much more exciting games to spend your money on. I can't believe ANYONE could find ANYTHING interesting in this game.

Too detailed for its own good, tedious, frustrating

This is a quest through the jungles of South America, you are an explorer equipped with a short whip, a sling (slingshot), and a boomerang, against a jungle of animated snakes, spiders, deadly plants, quick sand, annoying monkeys and so on. The controls first of all are annoying having B as the jump button and A as the attack, L as the boomerang and R as the sling. Then next, the background graphics are so needlessly detailed, that you can hardly tell what is part of the level and what is part of the background! The animations are cartoonish and annoying, because its impossible to lets say do a small jump, the player will always takes huge leaps! The levels are very large and detailed, each has a different theme, but there are traps, where you can actually fall from the end of a level back to the beginning and have to do it all over again, making the game very tedious and frustrating! If you want a fun game, along this genre, take a look at the Gameboy Advance game, Lady Sia. Its also very unfortunate that I have given this game one star, because I have never given anything one star.

DO...NOT...BUY!!!

One word...Pitfall

Two Word...IT SUX!!!
The graphics is below average, it should of been Game Boy Color. The plot is extremely childish. I mean save his dad. I don't even know the name of the character I am controling. The images are even childish. It looks like it was animated by Walt Disney. I have had this game for two months and I haven even spent 10 whole minutes playing it. It is the most disapionting Game Boy game since Turok. This game is below average and should have stayed on Atari. Do not buy it!

I have this game for the pc. The controls are fantastic, the levels are fun, the action is intense, the sound effects, and the music are fantastic.
But now that this game has been brought to the GBA, the controls are sketchy, the wonderful level music has been eliminated, and the sound effects are just plain annoying. The extra features that were in the pc game (such as the bonus mini-games and the Atari 2600 edition--which was great) aren't there. This game, somehow maintains it's addictive quality. BUt if I were you, I'd rent it first.
