The coolest mega man game EVER!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 27 / 28

This game is the end of sidescrolling and the beginning of action/RPG for Mega Man. You play as Lan and his PET, or Navi, Mega Man. Lan lives in the Real World, while Mega Man lives in the Cyber World. TO play as Mega Man, Lan must jack into something (PCs,ovens, etc.). Lan and Mega Man must help to save AC/DC town from evil. My reccomendation: BUY IT.

VERY Mega Man

This un doubtedly one of the top ten best Game Boy Advance games ever! It has nonstop action and killer thrills, but let me say this, "Who needs a plot." This a game you can enjoy nonstop, even at a slow point, there are always battles to be won. This is a top on any list of quality games, in short, it's really great.

Good game, but...

Considering that this is a GBA game, the graphics could've certainly been better. They are somewhat mediocre - not much better than average GBC RPG. The sounds are of better quality, as is the music; although they're bit repeative, they're not *too* repeative, not even the battle music.

The plot is quite predictable, and some of it is cliched - it even has a traditional mad scientist and his goons. *yawn*

...so why four stars? I like the battle mode. It's quite innovative, a perfect blend of action and strategy. You have to carefully plan which of the hundreds of chips to use in battles. Even careful planning won't guarantee success: you can choose no more than thirty chips, and out of those, only five can be used each turn. The battles are fast and furious - if you've planned well, they're often over in couple of seconds. The downside is that they can be quite difficult at times: to beat the stronger enemies you need strong battlechips, and you have to keep switching to better chips during the whole game. To get the chips, you need to beat the enemies fast enough (not getting hit yourself helps). It can be very frustrating at times. I can only recommend this game for those players who have *lots* of patience...

Strangely enough, very good!

In my opinion, there aren't many games for the GBA that deserve a 5 star rating at the moment, but this title is one of the exceptions. I won't take my time to write a short summary of the game's storyline, since the site's review asically has it in a nutshell, but I really would like to focus on what makes this game so great. First of all, while this game is an RPG, it features a very unique action-oriented battle system that is not at all hard to get used to thanks to a mini-tutorial included in the game. In other words, if you're slightly sick of the usual RPG battles, this title might provide a somewhat refreshing change. Even better is the fact that when you defeat your enemies you will sometimes be able to get chips that will allow you to learn their moves, which first of all adds a collect-them-all replay value element to the game and second of all for once makes you actually look forward to the game's many random battles. The game itself is bright and colourful and really has as much personality as any other game I've encountered on the system. The translation is also wonderful, with characters talking like normal human beings instead of using the usual RPG cliche-speak. I also found out from personal experience that you do not at all need to be a Mega Man fan in order to get into this game, which can only be a good thing. Bottom line: if you already own Golden Sun and Advance Wars and aren't sure which title to pick up next, this could very well be the game you're looking for. Highly recommended.

This game is the best RPG game I have ever played! It has amazing grapics awesome sound and it has a tight RpG style of Gameplay. When I got the game I never knew what to expect but the second it started i became hooked. The game is so good I got the second one. That one is also pretty cool (but I am writing a review for the first one). Anyway I recomend this game to people who like or even dis-like RPG, because this game is really cool. It really brings out the megaman adventures. I have all the megaman games on comp, PS1, NeS, Snes, N64, Gameboy color and advance and by far the best is this one. megaman battle network is totally differnt then the other ones It is more futuristic and more realistic then the others. This game rocks

Its basically Megaman in a pokemon RPG format. I am not a big fan of these kind of games, but my brother loves it so I gave it a good review.

Megaman BN 1

What a game! I, personally haven't liked a game in the Megaman series this much since Megaman Legends 2. The main protagonist is an eleven year old boy named Lan, who lives in the year 20XX. The world in this distant future is much like ours, except everything in the world is joined by the internet. The internet had become so advanced that you can't just use URL's anymore, but you must use a cell-phone like device, called a PET (Personal Terminal). To use the internet, you must "Jack In" an AI computer program called a NetNavi. Lan's NetNavi is, of course, MegaMan.EXE. Lan realizes that he is an extremely talented "Virus Buster" which means that he can delete viruses. Virus Busting is fought on a 3 X 3 grid, and megaman uses both special attacks, and the Mega Buster, fired with B. Worth the money, if just for the end, Megaman BN 1 keeps you hooked with a cast of endearing characters, and a harsh, serious, and at the same time, hillarious storyline. As I said, great game.

It's not the Mega Man of old, but it's incredibly well done

I remember playing Mega Man for the first time back in the late 80's. The classic action of going from stage to stage, earning the power of the bosses to use as your own, was a great concept. After the first title, sequel after sequel would follow, all using the same format (except for Mega Man Legends 1 + 2). With MMBN though came an interesting twist. Mega Man is no longer a robot, he's a cybernetic virus busting program called a navi. Being able to jack into electronic objects, you can fight viruses to your heart's desire, using your Mega Buster and various battle chips. Graphics, play control, music, sound, game design, they're all beyond perfect. The only thing preventing this game from being flawless, is the multitude of random battles you'll encounter. The game is still fantastic though. Mega Man fans will also find some nostalgia as they'll encounter updated forms of some of Mega Man's old foes. With a massive variety of battle chips as well, busting viruses has never been so much fun. For any gamer, this game is a must have. Combining elements of RPG's, action, and classic Mega Man fun, there's not many games of this caliber.

This is a REAL different direction for our fave man in Blue!
One must "Network" by "pluging in" & fight off & destroying "Viruses". By doing this....abilities increase &
Megaman can upgrade his weapons! A MUST for the MM fan & worth checking out for the "shooter" gameplayer.
I've got ALL of the Gameboy & GBA PLUS ALL the PSX Megaman GAMES!
He's my Hero! Wish the NES games for the PSX had come out in the US!
But.....give this game a try! The NEW Megaman Extreme 2
Is your regular MM game....it's for the GB but can be played on a GBA!!! Game On!
