When I first heard that there was going to be a handheld Mario Kart, I almost jumped out of my seat and yelled in joy. Mario Kart: Super Circuit has lived up to all those expectations and more.
The character models were taken straight out of the N64 version, and at times, almost look better. The backgrounds look like a slightly modified version of the SNES game, but they still fit in perfectly with the game. Also, unlike the SNES game, sharp turns actually look sharp, with the body leaning and smoke coming from the tires.
MKSC makes great use of the GBA's Mode 7 scrolling capabilities, which, for the less enlightened of us, means that the background is actually turning, not the character. Without this ability, the game would need to be fully 3D, which I'm not sure the GBA's processor can actually handle.
In addition to the new levels, MKSC includes the 20 classic levels from the original, Super ario Kart. The cast of characters remains the same as in the N64 version, and are still just as good.
The multiplayer mode is possibly the best part of the game. It has 4-player link-up capabilities, with the normal battle, Grand Prix, and Match Race. You can also trade your ghosts with friends, effectively training yourself fro your next race with him (or her, whatever the case may be).
All this and more make Mario Kart: Super Circuit easily one of the top 3 GBA games (along with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and I'm not sure what else), and possibly the best Mario Kart yet
Great game!

I got this game for my birthday and thought it wouldn`t be too great....then I played it! It`s a great game that isn`t too easy but is challenging enough to keep you coming back. I`ve been playing this for a few months now and can`t beat the Special Cup. This game, however, gave me a feeling that I`m getting closer almost forcing me to play again! I love it!
ThE best GB advance GAme ToDaY

This game is a great game because of the realistic graphics and game fun. If You have ever played N64's MARIO KART, it is the exact same thing. All of The characters are the same,(YOSHI,PEACH,WARRIO,DK,BOWSER,MARIO,LUIGI,AND TOAD). tHE LEVELS ARE DIFFERENT but you can unlock seceret levels from the original MARIO KART From snes and N64 by getting 100 coins or more at the end of the cup.I have had alot of fun with this game. If you are looking for an easy,Wonderful,Fun filled racing game I reccomend this one.

I just had to buy this game when I got my Gameboy Advance. It is a great game, highly addictive and works well on this console.
The colours are used to their full advantage and the reduction in size from a PSX or PS2 version does not adversely effect the gameplay.
Hours of fun.
A whole lot of fun

I loved the original Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo, and Mario Kart 64 was one of the only Nintendo 64 games I thought was any good, so when I heard that a Mario Kart game was coming to the GBA, I snatched it right up. First off I will say that it looks a lot like the 16-bit Super Mario Kart, but it plays like Mario Kart 64 with the real tight controls and track design. The sound quality is excellent as well, some of the best I've heard in a GBA game. All in all, Mario Kart: Super Circuit is an essential title to your GBA library.

Although on the box the graphics seem [lousy], once you put in the cartridge the graphics are crystal clear! It is highly addictive and although it is easy to beat, it is one of the only games you can enjoy once you beat it. Also the multiplayer mode puts this game over the top! I recommend this game to EVERYONE!
GREAT GAME

Mario Kart was the first game I ever got on my GAmeboy Advance, when I first got it and started playing it, it was fun, if not slightly easy, the graphics are great, but do not change very much on one track, it is basically the same graphics following you around corners.
I like sunset wilds the best because as go onto the third track the sunset goes from red to Navy blue, like a real sunset.
After I'd played the 16 tracks that you start with for a while i got bored, I don't like the concept that you have to collect a certain number of coins to get to bonus tracks, as my steering is not too good that's hard for me.
The steering, its very difficult to use, and after two hours of playing my thumb was sore and numb, may i suggest a joystick add-on for this particular game?
After having this game for two weeks and playing it heaps I still have not got to the special cup or any other bonus tracks.
Is that good?
This game sure has great lastibility, great for long road trips or boring weekends at home.
Overall, after all my grumbling I still reccomend this game to everyone!
I suggest that you buy this over Mario World Advance and Harry Potter.
But, if you are unconvinced about buying this game and you don't mind waiting, Banjo-Kazooie will be released for GBA later this year! It's bound to be a hit.
Right now it's also... very [reasonably priced] because new games are coming in.
More about the game?
OK, well there are 16 tracks to start with 4 tracks to each of the 4 cups.
You can choose how much cc you want, and a huge number of characters to play as, if you press the select button to hear them beep their own individual horn.
That's all from me!...
Great gameplay, lousy replayablity

This game is truly great, and will probably become a classic. However, I found it extremely easy to beat. Two hours and I had unlocked the special cup and beaten the whole game. There's a way to unlock four tracks from the classic SNES version, but it's more difficult to get. This still only amounts to 24 tracks, that are short, and contain only flat racing. The GBA is not capable of 3D terrain in this game. As far as sound, the voices and sound effects are great. The music is decent, if not repetitive.
I suppose the ultimate fun may lie in the multiplayer action, but I don't know anyone that has a GBA, and you can't battle against the computer.
Overall, this is a good game, and it should definately be in a GBA owner's library, just don't expect to be playing it for hours at a time.
