Do you need a game that you and your friends can settle grudges / place bets / have fun with? This is the game! Single player mode is all fun and good, but getting a group of people playing is the best. The winner stands, and no one can play the same character twice are two house rules that keep things interesting around here.

Soul Blade is the best game I have played for playstation so far, the number of ways to play aren't really limited (I myself like Edge Master mode and arcade mode using Seung Mi Na)This is the ultimate game for people who like close combat and a selection of weapons. I have completed every characters arcade mode with my brother and my friend. and i have gotten all of seung mi na's and rock's weapons.

Or so the prologue goes in the Soul games. This game came out on the Playstation, before the Soul Calibur series. You might could say that this is a prequel to the Soul Calibur series. Anyway, I bought this title after I had already played Soul Calibur II and Soul Calibur III.
By the time I bought this game, I was already accustomed to the great graphics, fluid movement, and responsive controls of the PS2 versions. That is the reason why I did not enjoy Soul Blade. I am sure that it must have been top-notch back in the days of the old Playstation, but today, it definitely cannot compare to Soul Calibur III. The basic idea is the same though. You have a small cast of characters who are seeking Soul Edge. Soul Edge is a sword with magical powers. It consumes the souls of those who use it. However, in return, they stop aging and they obtain combat powers that exceed that of even the very best warrior.
You might want to buy this game and add it to your collection, if you're a fan of the Soul series of fighting games. However, I would not recommend buying it if you actually want to play.

Excellent graphics, superb sound track, easy control. What else can I say? From the makers of Tekken comes Soul Blade. Instead of martial arts, this game features weapons. It is superior to the ToShinDen series and rivals the Tekken series.
Although this game is a few years old, it is still one of the best fighting games. Not only will you have hours of enjoyment with your friends, but you will also play single player to get the two secret characters. But more importantly: EDGE MASTER MODE. This story mode enables you to get better weapons than your standard one. You have to win battles with certain stipulations: such as only throwing your oponent, killing 6 in a row, low energy, ring out, etc. This is a very challenging mode, but the rewards are fantastic.
This soundtrack is one of the best for any fighting game. It ranges from classical music to a techno feel to neo-Japanese. The sound effects are top-notch. You can hear sword hit sword or knunchucks hit axes.
The characters have personalities. You can choose from a goddess to a ninja to a barbarian.
If you want hours of enjoyment from a superior game on the PlayStation I would recommend this game. The only drawback- I mean ONLY drawback is that there are only 10 characters to choose from. In this day and age, there are around 20 or 30 characters in fighting games. Other than that, GET THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!

When attempting to decide between the PSX and the N64, I discovered that PSX had Soul Blade. A friend of mine and I had already sunk numerous quarters into the local mall standup. This was my chance to not only play the characters I enjoyed, but to finally be able to afford to learn the others.
Soul Blade is, without a doubt, my fave fighter. The graphics are terrific, the soundtrack is sweeping, and the learning curve is challenging without being over the top. Would I reccommend this title ? Without hesitation. At [the price], it will pay for itself in the first week.
Soul Blade Beats Up Other Fighting Games.

If you had to choose just one fighting game to buy out of all the others, Soul Blade should be it. It has everything you could want in a fighter: jaw-dropping graphics and animation, cool moves, and many different play modes. The different modes of play add a lot of replay value to Soul Blade, and makes you want to keep playing it. The Edge Master Mode actually adds a story to the game for each character, unlike games like Tekken 3. But one of the most innovative things about this game is the different character endings. Each character has 3 different endings, making you want to keep playing it to find out the whole story. The only problem in this game is that the computer always seems to have the upper hand if you both do moves at the same time. But all this for $20! What more could you want? If you like fighting games be sure to pick this one up.
