Extremely entertaining multiplayer action!

Wonderful and immersive graphics with gigantic playing areas for up to 32 people! You can play as a soldier, tank, jeep, or in a warhawk. Each one has its advantages and drawbacks and the game design prevents any one from being too powerful. Since it is online only, you are tossed into games with players who may be far more skilled than you. Thankfully, you have the option of choosing ranked or non-ranked games so there are places to practice. Once you get confortable, you can play in ranked games to accumulate points which will unlock customization options. Three different modes; capture the flag, zones, and deathmatch keep gameplay from ever being repetitive. And because all players are real people (not computers) every single game is different and has its own characteristics. Steep learning curve, but stick with it. This game is very enoyable once you learn the basics!

This game is a riot. You can be a foot soldier with many weapons(Rifle, knife, handgun, grenade,rocket launcher, flame thrower, etc..), use vehicles like a jeep or tank or even stationary turrets and machine guns and the best IMO is flying around in the planes! The game just looks beautiful and is what these games should be, fun.

This game is a fun game. It is only multiplayer, but the great thing is that you can play split screen online with a ton of other players.

Warhawk is the best multiplayer game on any console

This is not an exaggeration. This is the most fun I've had playing a online multiplayer game on any console (this includes halo 3, which disappointed me with online play).

Ground combat, jeeps, tanks, warhawks, tons of weapons and more. MASSIVE levels with very far draw distances and best of all it runs extremely smooth (60fps) with 32 players at 720p or 1080i resolution.

Graphics: 9/10 Very detailed considering it runs extremely smooth with explosions everywhere, super far draw distancs, and 32 players online
Sound: 9/10 Also good. The sound effects are great and even better they had a full symphony compose the music.
Controls: 10/10 Great, even uses the Sixaxis (motion sensing) for the vehicles, with some practice flying the Warhawks is really fun and fast paced.
Online Play: 10/10. Tons of servers with almost zero lag.

Best of all you can play up to 4 players split screen on your PS3, then go into the same server and work together, start your own server and people will join, or just do your own private LAN game.

Finally the game has an expansion out for more levels, and more vehicles that is an optional download for $8.99 (or $11.99 for both). I haven't played this yet as I am still having fun with everything the game came with, but there are lots of servers running both. It is good to see the game is actively maintained and updated by Sony.

Finally there is also a $60 version that comes with a Bluetooth headset if your into that sort of thing - the game supports voice chat. Or any bluetooth headset compatible with the PS3 will do.

Frustrating But Addictive

Warhawk is the type of game that no matter how much you may try, your still addicted to it. That's how it is for me as I have never played an online game in my life until Warhawk which presented quite a challenge as there is no introduction or tutorial, you are just thrown into a battle and given a couple hints along the way as you pick up different items and such. Nevertheless the game is incredibly addicting and is a must for all Playstation 3 owners.

Thumbs Up:
- looks good, feels good, sounds good
- A selection of filters allows you to fine tune exactly where and what you want to play
- the ranking system with awards and customization makes you want to keep playing

Thumbs Down:
- If you have never played an online game you might be turned away because there is a steep learning curve, even for veterans
- Some the physics don't make any sense, like how can a knife destroy a jeep with two swipes?
- Doesn't relate to the game as it does the players, some will plague the radio with gargled crap and if you don't communicate your team will loose, horribly.

This is a very fun and addictive game! I picked it up yesterday and have not been able to put it down. If you want a game that's challenging, fun, and can be played with people worldwide, then this is the game to get!

Unique experience on consoles

This game is pretty good. It's a lot of fun and the developers continue to support their product with improvements and expansion packs. If you like using vehicles, especially flying, while also being able to have ground combat, this is a great game. It'll be popular for a long time to come so due to the unique experience, so you'll definitely get a lot of game play out of this title. Really great price if you don't have a headset.

so far i have Oblivion singstar eye of judgment and ressistance and many more. i liked the ressistance online multiplayer and i really wanted a headset to chat to others so i picked up the warhawk bundle and i tried it out and so far i havent played ressistance since. yesterday a new add-on was released for a new car and map it cost $7.99 and just as warhawk was starting to get boreing there was fresh excitement again and i have had this game sincesdecember so it has provided about 5 months of non-stop entertainment. so if you want a game that will last long this is the way to go

Well this game had 3 out of 4 elements to war.all it needs is some sea battle and this game will be the total package.the is a excellent bargain to have a good online game and a headset. Take the fight on foot,jeep,tank and even the sky the choice is yours.

The game itself is a lot of fun. It reminds me a lot of the Halo series, except it's just the online multiplayer part. The controls are something to get used to if you never player a shooter on a console before. The combat is pretty intuitive, and the computer helps you lock onto targets.
The online play is great. You can get medals and ranks which are saved on Sony servers as you play. The only thing I don't like is that if you want to play a local game, even if its just one on one on the same console, you still need to be connected to a network. Also, the included headset is pretty bad and I never even use it because I only find it as a nuisance.
