We rented Mario Kart Wii last weekend and LOVED it. My three sons and i played it every chance we got and had a blast. It is easy enough that everyone in the family can play and have fun, but also challenging enough to hold you attention and keep the adults playing long after the kids have gone to bed. My sons are 7, 7, and 5 and they were all able to play competitively after only a few races. Even my wife who doesn't usually like racing games had a great time playing it. This is definitely one that we need to buy!
A great game for non-gamers and gamers too!

I am not a gamer. My husband is. We got a Wii a while back because we thought it would be good way for us to enjoy games together and have some fun with friends. I really enjoyed Wii bowling and my husband liked most of the sports games. But I didn't see any games for the Wii that I thought would make me a dedicated player.
Then Mario Kart Wii came out. My little sister had an N64 back in the 90s and I had played Mario Kart with her--it was fun, but I always had a hard time with the joystick controls. Out of nostalgia for that old game, I ordered Mario Kart Wii and an extra wheel. I was instantly hooked. The Wii Wheel makes it alot easier to manuver the car (for me, someone who had never gotten the feel of a joystick) and the tracks, the different characters and the cars all make it lots of fun. Now i'm working my way through the different cups at the different speeds, and I'm starting to race online using Mario Kart WFC--which I must say, really puts your skills in perspective!
My husband really likes Mario Kart Wii too. He had never played the game before and normally doesn't like racing games, but he said the weapons, different characters and zany tracks make it interesting. And it's great that it's something we--with our wildly different gaming skill sets--can play together.
I would recommend this game for someone who enjoyed earlier versions of Mario Kart, or who likes to play multiplayer games (you can always play a multiplayer game with Mario Kart Wii because of the online games), or maybe even for someone who isn't that into video games but just wants something that is lots of fun. You'll be hooked--just like I am!

Ever since I purchased my Wii over a year ago, my first wish was that Nintendo would rush to release an old favorite. Then the news from E3 2007 broke, Mario Kart Wii was already in the works and was slated for an early 2008 release. I watched Amazon religiously, waiting for a release date. 2 weeks ago, I came home from work and saw that beloved Amazon package on my doorstep. With as much anticipation as Christmas morning, I ripped open the box, plugged my Wii remote into the wheel, and absorbed the excitement of my new game.
Mario Kart Wii does not disappoint. Though the Mushroom and Flower cups are relatively easy, I still enjoyed the driving motion of the Wii Wheel--it's a motion I know I tried to imitate with previous Nintendo remotes, but at least now it makes sense. But if you're thinking this is your same Mario Kart from the days of yore, you are mistaken; the levels have increasing difficulty which both challenge and entertain you. I'm especially impressed with the extra moves you can perform and the different obstacles on many of the courses. I found the motorbikes more of a challenge than the karts, and it's probably just going to take some time to get used to the feel on the courses. What's more is all the new weapons that can help you move from 12th place to the center of the pack and really spice things up for those of you that usually ride in 1st the whole game.
Mario Kart continues to be a staple for Nintendo games systems. And why not? They continue to add more and more fun to this classic game.

I just never take my finger off the accelerator button and use power ups as soon as I get them. This is really great fun, classic Mariokart action updated for the Wii. Haven't tried online yet, have heard others complain about lack of a team-up mode from previous iterations, and the "Wii Wheel" is kind of jive, but overall I'm totally down for some shell shock action.
LOVE THIS GAME

I have always been a fan of Mario Kart. N64 was my favorite. This one rates right with it. Great game. It is fun to revisit some of the other systems courses. My kids love it too. I don't play with the wheel. I don't like that one bit. Using the nunchuck and WII controller works the best for me.
loads of fun!

This game is fun and great! Would be better online play if you did not have to enter every friends number to play a friend. Wish wii would get headsets as well, BUT that is not the games fault. Definately worth the money! Amazon delivered the game very promptly they did great!

I have a great time playing this game with my 12-year-old and 18-year-old sons, despite the fact that I'm 46 and have no video game coordination at all. The different characters and courses provide enough variety to keep the game interesting. And the Wii Wheel makes the game a lot of fun. I would highly recommend this game to any family with a Wii.
Many hours of fun!
