Usually when a new or highly-awaited movie comes out, there will be lots of merchandise surrounding it, including a video game. ... Spider-Man: The Movie is truly an exception.
Gameplay- Anyone that has played the previous Spider-Man games for PS-X and N64 will know that the control was great. In Spider-Man: The Movie, new developer Treyarch has improved on the classic's controls. When clinging on the side of a wall, you can hit the Z button to enter Camera Mode, where you can pinpoint exactly where you want to fire or web-zip (another new addition to the next-gen games). A similar move called Target Lock Allows you to target enemies in an auto-aim style. However, web-swinging is harder to control than in the original, and causes you to inadvertently hit walls, and if you're in a room full of enemies (preferably with guns) you have to start Target Lock on your own, and you'll probably have been wasted by then. 7/10
Graphics: Absolutely perfect-- on some occasions. Rare cutscenes have picture-perfect quality, but most in-level cutscenes have mediocre (think Blitz 2001) graphics. 8/10
Sound: Truly Columbia Picture's style of music-- very dramatic. I especially like the music in "Search for Justice". PLus the tutorial voice is hilarious. For instance, when you jump off the edge of the building, he'll say "Whoa, whoa. Watch it there, Captain Jumpy!" You have to actually be playing it. PLus Spidey and Green Goblin are voiced by the real-life actors Tobey Maguire and William Dafoe. 10/10
Overall, Spidey gets a 25/30, which equals to 4 stars on amazon.com. This is a great game for any Spidey fanatic, or someone who just wants an "interactive" version of the movie.

The game is quite short in my opinion, but it was a great play. And although there is no multiplayer (which would be awesome), the realistic surroundings and the sweet action scenes just boggled my senses. I liked how you could control spider man's web string and fly from building to building, and i thouroughly enjoyed the fights with the green goblin. I hope that there will be a spider man sequel coming out on gamecube just as the spider man sequel hits the silver screen.
This was better than the Movie!

Compared to the movie this game is a huge foot about to step on a small ant. This gameplay is too cool! Finding Uncle Ben's Killer, Fightning Scorpion and the Vulture, and a whole lot of other stuff. Of course multiple ariel dules with Goblin. Web controls are sweet! Tie-ups, domes, impact shots, ziplines, yo-yo's, web bombs and more! The combos are cool! Handspring kicks and triple palm punches. Web swinging is tricky at first but once u get it down, it's on! You get all uniforms like spidey's uniform, Peter Parker and 2 other awesome uni's! This takes the cake for movie games! You must have it at all costs!
This is the best spider-man game yet

...I in fact have read many articles and watched many movies and I know this game is gonna be a total hit, it has many aerial combos, includin kicks, punches, the many uses of web, backflips and a whole lot more.Web swinging will be a whole different story from the past spidey games since you will be able to roam the cities much more freely. The game will focus on the movie but will have also added bosses like Shocker,The Scoprion and more. So hold on to your spidey web guys cause its gonna be a very cool game.
Good Game :)

This game is rad. It builds on the older Spiderman game, however it adds huge levels with no fog, awesome textures and reflection, interactive scenery, and a slight touch of reality. This game also has an awesome camera system with target locking (much like the n64's Zelda games). And hey... the air battles are awesome... very very original. This is a great game that should probably entertain a lot of mature gamers.

My brother bought this game.It is GREAT!!! The game is really cool. It takes a while to beat it, but you can save the game after you beat each level, so you can turn off the game system and start again from that level later. The game is awsome! Once you beat the game at certain levels, you can unlock certain characters, and when you play the game as those characters, the game is slightly different. I would give this game a six out of five star rating if I could.

If you've ever wanted to crawl walls, websling and avenge your Uncle's murder, this is definiteley the game for you.
The game start's out with an intro into the life of spidey, starting with Uncle Ben's murder and moving up from there. You advance through the game fighting many super-villains that weren't featured in the game (mostly Shocker,Vulture and Scorpion) and, of course,The Green Goblin and that pesky goblin glider.
I purchased this game on May 4, which goes to show for the endless replay value. Even after you beat the levels, there's still the Art Gallery and The Specials Menu, where you can input codes and turn the Green Goblin play mode on and off (asuming you beat the game on hero difficulty, that is).
This game has one of the best concepts I've seen on a video game yet,and it's one that keeps you coming back day after day.
This is as good as video games get. If you don't have it, buy it!
Just like the movies

If any of you liked the Spiderman game for N64 then you will love this one. The graphics are perfect and they capture every move of Spiderman's perfectly. Just to tell you they call Spiderman the movie but it does follow the movie as much as most of you probaly thought. It has extra villins like the Shocker and the Vulture. It also fetures the scorpine but, he is kind of good. This game is harder then the one for N64. This game is also funner then the other one. You can find new moves and get enough points so you can get new things at the secrect store. There are also new things you can do for example save a person by picking them up and puting them in a special spot away from danger. For the people that only liked the other spiderman game for N64 as a one time game then you will probaly think the same for this one. For the others that liked to play Spiderman over and over again you will do the same for this game or even more.

This game seems like it could be a lot of fun except I can't get past a couple of fundamental issues. The hardest part of this game is dealing with the poor camera and control. It gets really fustrating quite quickly rolling around in a corner as the camera moves around and the control direction changes. There are 2 camera modes, passive and active, and neither seem to do anything different. A chase camera like Tomb Raider would be a welcome feature. The camera also whip-pans in and out of the camera hemisphere while crawling around so some people will probably get motion sick. Also it's very easy to lose track of enemies' locations- the camera focuses on the character and suddenly there's a bunch of guys right behind you. Also, when trying to look around Spider-man gets in the way as it's a behind view vs. POV. I want to fight the bad guys, not the camera and controller- I think I'll probably put this one up on ebay.
