This a darn good racing game with a lot of cool extras. Fast paced action, a good save feature, fun as heck tracks, cool cars er rockets er whatever... And the lasting part of this game is always trying to shave just a second here or there on your old track record. They even have a championship race track where you can ride against your previous high speed ghost (c'mon guys if this was the same for every track this game would be a Rembrandt). Of course the different skill level of drones can get annoying when you know you should be waxing them. It's frustrating when you can practically lap the expert drones in practice and barely beat them in the real races. It's obvious the gaming engineers decided that the drones would basically stick to your position at all times (I guess for a challenge). Which means when you jump a quarter of the track and there still behind you-- Grrrr. That's probably why the track maps in practice mode show your position and the drone's position while racing, and show neither on regular racing mode. But ok... It's an excellent game for short spurts on the train, plane, annoying family vacation, or the school bus. Quick starts and fun racing. Great for anyone on the go.

This was my first GBA game and I was stunned by the amazing graphics this game featured. It has the best control set-up out of any GameBoy game I've ever played. The race cars are cool and the tracks are amazing. The have obstacles but not too much. The snow tracks can sometimes be tough when you end up slipping on the ice. The key to getting the best turns is to press the "A" button repetatively while turning instead of holding it down. FOr more hits about racing, press the SELECT button at the title screen to access the secret tutorial. I would recommend this game because it is the best racing game I've played on the GBA.
Ok... But boring

This game was very good, as a look at the box game, but not as a playing game. Well.... I got to give it some credit, because the graphics are sweet. Also its fun to play the first few times, but the next levels are way too hard for beginners. I got to say it good if you want to play it 24/7 but it is pretty hard so dont get your hopes up.
Final line: Its ok but dont get your hands on it till it goes done in price, unless you have the commitment to actully beet it and not just leave it there on the side.

Okay, I'll tell you right now, I am a veteran player at F-Zero games, I own everyone. F-Zero is a real great game to have. Any GBA owner shouldn't be without one. Seriously, I don't care if it looks like the one from SNES, it is a great game, with classic graphics. This game features many modes to unlock, well not too many, or you'd never finish the game. You can unlock up to 10 cars. The hardest would be that of the Jet Vermillion, "the best" car in the game. Yeah right! This game's only prob. is that you have to have friends who own the cartridge to, or the multiplayer will .... But, if even you just have one friend with that cart, it is awesome. Of all F-Zero's, over all this is the best. Here is a tip, the Jet Vermillion is unlocked easily if you just go to cheat code central, and click their Japan of America link, the website will tell you what else you gotta do. Also, overall so far, I found Hot Violet has done the best for me, its the easiest to control, at least for me. I haven't completed the whole game yet, but I'm getting there.

F-ZERO is a great game from the SNES. Although at can get boring after the first few hours it is a great GBA starter. It is nothing like kart racing in Mario Kart, but has its own perks. With challenging courses and amazing speed F-ZERO is a must have for all.

Fans of the smash hit Super Nintendo game F-Zero will not be disappointed in this fresh reincarnation of the popular futuristic racing game. The new game F-Zero: Maximum Velocity manages to pack a large selection of racers, four player interaction and what fans of the original have come to expect, mind blowing speed. This is all packed unto a tiny GBA cartridge, and instead of the normal Game Boy music, composed of mainly beeps we're starting to see some real music. Overall a new generation will be introduced to an aging but still excellent seiries, and as stated above, F-Zero:Maximum Velocity will will not disappoint.

This is my first Game Boy Advance Game, and so far, it is a blast! This game, unlike many other racing games which I have previously played, is rather addictive, for when I lose at a track, instead of quitting and retrying later, I persist with my often futile efforts. However, this game received only 4 stars out of 5 due to the fact that I am devoid of all clues whatsoever as to how to gain new racers such as the "Sly Joker" and the "Stingray",which I yearn for. Also, utilizing both blast turns and the L and R buttons on curves and corners to turn in unison presents me with a conflict between my brain and my fingers' reaction time, so I frequently use blast turns by themselves, since they are simpler to execute. My currentfavorite racer is Nichi's "Wind Walker," which combines the vital features of speed and agility. However, it lacks in the "power" department. Overall, this game is astonishingly satisfying. Oh, and by the way, did I mention the awesome 3-D, 32-bit graphics? The background scenery is pretty good, but it could use some improvisation. Au contraire, it isn't a true deciding factor in the game, since you cannot truly notice them while attempting evasion of your opponents, staying off of the edge of the tracks, and all of the other various obstacles included in the many tracks, and I don't give a burnt-out microchip, since what I value most highly in a video game has always been gameplay and always will be. Anyway, back to the point. This game provides entertainment to the budding expert gamer, or the video game rookie, of which I am the latter.

This game takes me back to SNES days. That's not a bad thing, As F-Zero was the first lauch title for the SNES. It's aptly so that another GREAT F-Zero game launches with the Game Boy Advance.
Graphically, This game is QUITE similar to the SNES version(s). Luckily we are treated to new cars, tracks, circuits.
What makes this game stand out is the parallax backgrounds which hide below the mode 7 rotating track. Quick info, Mode 7 was, in the SNES time, quite revolutionary. It's 3d rotation of a 2d picture.
What F-Zero GBA adds is a 3rd layer, giving the game a deeper look. The cars hover on the track which hovers over the stage of choice, sometimes a mesa, sometimes clouds. YOU REALLY FEEL LIKE YOUR CAR IS FLOATING.
Controls are QUITE UNFORGIVING. Yes, you can get used to the controls. Yes, gas tapping (rapidly tapping the accelerator to make hard turns with minimal loss of speed) helps. There's nothing worse than losing a race in the last lap because you were bumped by a yellow or green "nobody" car. This happens often. Bumped into the walls gives you a pinball effect, and slows you down almost to a halt. THIS IS ANNOYING. While I do have a gripe with the controls, it's how the game plays that makes the controls be this way. The controls have to be this way.
My biggest gripe is with hand cramps. I get cramps in my hand from the gas tapping repeatedly, and have to take a break. This is more of a problem with the size of the GBA and placement of the buttons. It needs mentioning, though, as I'm not the only person who has this problem.
The multiplayer (single cartridge) is lacking. With one cartridge you can only play ONE track with ONE car, and you can't choose either. THIS IS ANNOYING. I have played 2 player with 2 cartridges. I have not sampled 3 or 4 player with 2 cartridges. I cannot say how that works, your guess is as good as mine.
Despite all these complaints, this is a GREAT GAME. It has beautiful graphics, good gameplay, and a decent soundtrack. It is well worth ... or ... bucks, but no more. If you can wait, it's a good idea. This is a good game and well worth buying.
