This game got REAL OLD after about an hour. There is not much to the game after you've explored the one-on-one racing and the half-pipe trick course(s) a few times each.

On top of that, the soundtrack is horrible and annoying. It reminds me of a Commodore 64 game I used to have -- I think it was called "Boogin'".

My kids got this game and didn't like it at all. They said the tracks were hard to stay on and were hard to see, then finding the trail again was very difficult.

nowhere near as good as 1080

Compared to 1080 for nintendo this game is underproduced and annoying. Examples: It's impossible to shut off stupid remarks from the computer while the game is running; likewise, gameplay is lessened by thoughtless obsticles (sheep on a ski slope! ) and poor play dynamics (Bash through giant boulders that fall directly in your path -- )... This title feels like it was rushed to market -- it was tuned very poorly for its final release. Another personal gripe: It's impossible to turn off the lame music tracks. Lastly, having seen what the Dreamcast is capable of graphically, in games like Sonic and Soul Caliber, this game doesn't come close.

Money Wasted...I love you 1080

I tried my hardest to enjoy this game, but I failedmiserably. I had previously owned a N64 and 1080 snowboarding durringthe time I bought this, and after playing Rippin Riders I literally went out and bought a N64 and 1080 again, cause This game made me want 1080 back in the worst way. Sure the graphics are awsome and the frame rate is a speedy 60 frames per second, but if your like me, graphics dont matter... Its all about the game play. This games game play isnt that great.

The charactors dont match the enviornment at all. When you think of snow boarding, you think of Black Flys Sun glasses, Speed rock, baggy pants and beanies. You dont think of A guy that dresses like Bob Marley, A DJ that wheres summer shorts in below zero weather, And Break dancers. One Of The Charactors is actually a mareine! The Charactors are lame.

As For The Music... I was very upset that each charactor is restricted to one song, and each stage you have to hear that charactors song again and again and again. So the music dosent change by stage (like It should) It changes by charactor. How lame is that? And then you got the same ol, lame ol, "dude" Anoucer that taunts you and makes you want to throw your brand new dreamcast controller through the tv. He yells things like "awww dude, your doing terrible!" and "DUDE!" "LIKE AWSOME DUDE! " See 1080 never did that.

All I can say is steer clear of this game unless you like cheesy charactors, Old Gameplay, Tiring Music and "dude" anouncers.

Snowboarding Fans, Wait For The Next One...DON'T BUY THIS

I was very excited about getting Rippin' riders, the first snowboarding title for dreamcast, but when I got it, i wish i hadn't. While yes the courses are very attractive, they take about 20 minutes to finish, and you have check points to get to, and it took me about 7 times to finish the first course. Also you can't race the next track, unless you finish the first one. But the thing I hated the most was the fact that the superpipe mode where you do tricks, was nearly impossible to do anything cool looking, and landing was near impossible, and the announcer always says the same thing, which had me at times yelling at him to shut up. So Bottom line is wait for the next snowboarding title, don't buy Rippin' Riders!

Good One Player, Great Two Player

For those of you how don't know, this game is actually a port of the Japanese dreamcast game "Cool Boarders Burnnn." Basically, Sega couldn't call the game Cool Boarders because Sony owns the rights to the name. Anyway, Rippin Riders is a good game that can never get over the hump to be a great game. The graphics on the game are fantastic. When your ride through the church on the second level your jaw will drop. The controls are very good but not perfect. There will be times when you will miss a move because the button combos just don't feel right. So where is the problem, when the game itself is just a little dull. It can't decide if it wants to be a stunt game or a racing game. The main courses have to much riding and not enought rippin. Of course the stunt pipe is included for those who want to see how close they can come to death by pulling off the perfect trick. What saves this game is the two player mode. First of all the graphics lose no detail when going from one to two players, amazing. Plus, having someone else on the course to race really adds to the fun of the game. Never underestimate the trash talk factor. Overall, Rippin riders just falls short of greatness. Fans of the other coodboarders games (at least the first two which were actually progamed by UEP systems who did this game) will find a lot here to like. As for everyone else. Rent it or better yet let your friend who gets every game buy it get board of it and then get it from him cheap.

Fun for a while

Now that the Dreamcast has gone on permanent vacation, one of the things it will be remembered most for is it's awesome sports library. Rippin' Riders is not one of those games however, but it's clearly not a bad game either. UEP Systems, the developers behind the Cool Boarders series, seem to have been on a time budget to put this game together. Graphics are super smooth and look great, while the sound effects have very nice touches here and there, but control is a major issue. Not to mention now and then you'll run into a wall that came out of nowhere and it costs you valuable time to figure out what direction to go in when you get back up. Plus, after you unlock everything between hidden tracks to hidden characters and boards, there is really nothing else exciting to do in the game. All in all, Rippin' Riders isn't really a bad game, but the last time I checked it is the only pure snowboarding game for the Dreamcast, and that alone makes it worth checking out.

Great graphics, poor control.

This game has wonderful graphics but the tricks are way too hard to accomplish. Plus, where is the racing? All you can do is race your self. The half pipe would be cool if I new the tricks.

Not Bad

This game had potential. Beautiful graphics, good control. However, in an effort to bring out as much realism as possible, it is extremely difficult to figure out where the trail is. Also, the MTV reject voice dude gets on your nerves.
