Good, yet difficult game

This game has great graphics and over 80 different routes in 3 different areas of 3 different citys. that equals up to about 700 possible routes. The down side to this game is that unless you are extremely skilled, it is hard. You get stuck a lot.
The game automaticly saves yoiur progress every time you do anything. If you loose one race, it ruins your game, actually it dosent do much but can be bad if you keep loosing.
To any skilled vidio game racer, this would be ideal.

This game is good. You should get the racing wheel along with this game if you haven't had it yet. Great game. Just get it while it is available.

MSR is hands down the most realistic and detailed racing game out there ever. I was very impressed with it from day one. The people who rate this game bad are the ones who have no idea about true street racing. Sorry, but you can't make sharp turns at 100 MPH and jump over traffic and slam cars through boulders. It isn't Demolition Racer or Crazy Taxi- granted those games are a blast but are not designed to be realistic. It is however, difficult, and it takes a lot of getting used to master the Kudos system, but the selection of cars is just unreal. I'm still very early in the game but I've seen some of the cars I can't wait to unlock. I'd choose this any day over GT 3 or Tokyo Extreme Racer, graphically and much more and better tracks. As far as the music goes, I personally like most of it, but if you're unhappy with it, just mute the music and pop in a CD in your own stereo which is probably right next to you- plus you still have the sound effects! I also like the wide variety of views, it adds to the realism- I'd love to play this on an IMAX screen. This game definitely offers a challenge, many different tracks, awesome graphics and VERY smooth gameplay. Get it ASAP.

This game is pretty cool, but the realism I was looking for was not there. Most of the tracks are dimly lit, so its hard to see where you are going. This game is freeking hard too man! You get penalties for crashing into walls, and you're even penalized for side-swiping other cars to get ahead of them. Why? It's a racing game, the idea it to get ahead. In short, the penalties are deducted from your points, and unless you gain enough points, you cant advance in the game. I purchased this game since Grand Tourismo 3 for PS2 was delayed. If you own a Dreamcast and a PS2 like me, wait for GT3.
Great racing game

This is one of the best racing games I've ever played. The graphics are really nice (the buildings are photo-realistic). The soundtrack is awesome too -- you could "compile" the tunes in one CD or let the DJ's play them for you.
You might want to consider buying a VGA adapter for the Dreamcast to fully appreciate the great graphics.
One minor thing which prevents me from giving this game 5 stars is the fact that most of the game is locked at the start. You would have to take on a challenge to get a car and unlock the races. As bad as it may sound this "feature" should keep you glued to your seats playing the game.

This game would be good IF and only IF all cars were unlocked and you didn't have to "earn kudos"... there should be a seperate option where u get to race any car you want at any time without having to earn it
Don't buy!!!

This game ..., from the beginning to the end MSR is boring. So don't buy this game, but only if you want to be bored to death.

This game is very good. Lots of cars to pick from, real weather conditions and time of day. One thing I really like about this one, is the way it puts you in training from the beginging by making you earn everything (you start with nothing) you have to race to get your first car. A few times around a track and you quickly over come the interace issues. From that point on you become a better driver and the game continues to become fun, rather than a struggle to drive using an awkward controller set (as some racing games do).
Four out of five stars, because I really like the control, options, and the graphics are above average.
The bad/and things to consider - The game is hard and it is a simulation (not arcade like) - If you want the most graphicly appealing racing game for dreamcast this is not you stop. Try "Test Drive: Le Mans" or "Test Drive: V-Rally" (V-Rally for arcade, LeMans is simulation like this game). - The menuing system is one of the worst I have ever delt with.
Best Game ever for racing!

This game is sooo realistic. Don't listen to the reviews that say that it is too complex (no offense) but it is probably because they don't know what a real racing game is supposed to be. In this game there are 3 cities that you race in: San Francisco, Tokyo, and London. But all 3 cities have a combined 200 courses from little 2 minute races to 10 minute ones and 10 laps or smething like that. You have to unlock each one except a few which you start out with. You have to beat the times set by yourself and if you it the wall tha is a 5 sec. penalty. You win a curency that I think is Japanese called "Kudos". You also have 3 cars to start out with. Then you have to earn "Kudos" to purchase the next car. In each race you average rated on skill, penalties, and speed, about 60.5 "Kudos". The 1st car you have to buy is like 139.5 "Kudos". The last car is 50,391.5 "Kudos". This game takes patience. It does not take very much space at all in the VMU, either. I think it takes 10 blocks of space. ________________________________________
Take it from me, this is worth $... but I am going to wait ... But you need to get this game for YOUR collection. It is a must. I haven't figured out how to create a sound track but I also rented it and it didn't have an instructional manual with it. SOOOOO.... I'd get this if I were you. Thank you for your time.

THis is a lousey game. there isn't too much else to say about it. The only reason it didn't get 1 star is for it's decent graphics, but that's about it. The cars are slow, the music 'bites', and what the hell is a wey hey anyway!? And who's idea was it to call this street racing? This game consists of alpha romeos, opels, and saabs driving at slow speeds during the day time with lame am radio going. I'm sorry. That's just not what street racing is all about. If you want real street racing, get tokyo xtreme racer! And if you are getting tired of this game's slow moving cars, then play mario kart. Those cars are alot faster.
