DON'T LISTEN TO THE GHOST RECON HATERS BECAUSE THEY HAVNT EVEN PLAYED IT BUT I HAVE AND IT IS GREAT TRUST ME.

this game was pretty good. i really liked the graphics and the controlls were easy. the only bad thing was your teammates. they rarely fire and almost kill 1 out of every 4 people you kill. the missions were long and u couldnt save but it was easy so i thought who cares f u cant save in a mission. this was the best shooter game i played but if you dont like this one i suggest halo or medal of honor thoes were also great games but this was AWSOME!

if you like shooters and want to do something fun in your spare time, get this game.Its so good ,the only downside is the lack of co-op play

the game simply doesn't live up to it's prequel. You no longer have the option to switch between soliders, there is NO strategy as you now comand only one team, and can not order them around a map, only give them useless comands that you will hardly use. The maps are EXTREAMLY linear, and you can't choose you're own path, but go down the one the computer forces you to. there are fewer weapons to choose from (and most of them are very similar)... and the AI is just terrible.... or maybe it's the oppisite... the AI is too good... unrealisticly good. example: I was playing a mission where it is pitch black (you use night vision), and raining hard. I was sticking to the bushes and hiding behind rocks, sneaking up on an enemy camp I knew was ahead. Then, all of a sudden, through the darkness, rain, bushes and boulders, EVERY solider in the camp instantly turns tward me and just opens fire, with 90% of all the bullets hitting me square in the head....this might be forgivable if you could switch to other team members after dieing, but this is not so.... if you die, it's game over. and missions can get VERY long, and ther is no in-mission quick save. In short, I hve played for almost 8 hours, and am still on level four. And over time, I've just come to like this game less and less. the only reason I have given this game 2 stars is because online is decient, but not nearly good enough to warent a purchase... If youa re a hard core fan of the original, rent it, but every one else I would recomend the first Ghost Recon over this one any day.

Very Disappointing..... Nothing like the original. I can't believe I wasted my money.

NO OFF-LINE MULTI-PLAYER !!!!!!

Don't make my mistake. Stay away from this game if you liked the original.

I thought this game was pretty good. They improved the Graphics, and made the AI and Sound Better. But that 3rd person view was annoying. There were times when i tried to make a shot but my Character's head kept blocking my veiw, so then when i moved around to get my head out of the way I got shot, or killed.

Your squad was very bad, They couldnt hit a barn if they were standing next to it. How could someone they say is and expert Marksman have less kills at long range then the person with the assualt rifle.

So to sum it all up, its a good game with the improvements, but it has a lot of downsides that lower my rating.

Wow! This game looks great! When it comes out i've got to buy it!

Yeah, the commericals made this game look way better than it is, it almost was made to look better than SOCOM II...

Well, awhile back I rented this game to give it a shot. I absolutely hated this game fromt he start. Here are the reasons: Totally unacceptable loading times, they litterally take up to 2 or 3 minutes each time. The camera view: the angle you play your character at is horrible. Its like you are playing over his shoulder, and it's just really hard to control him. Also bad thing about this game is how the map is useless and doesn't tell you how to complete the missions, so you have to use your head.

Don't buy this game, as a favor to me and you're well earned money.

not your average shooter

Let me start off by saying that Ghost Recon 2 (GR2) is not as good as the first ghost recon. Even though, I still think that the graphics are great and the overall story of the game is good to. As a recent PS2 owner the 3rd person combat took some getting used to, but it has a low learning curve. I would reccomend this game to people who are NOT new to the first person genere.

What I have to say has been said in a previous review, but I will say it anyway:
Part 2 has been changed to a single-team scenario so that, e.g., only your own team can be used in a support position, leaving you to run off on your own. The open terrain of the original and ``jungle storm" (ghost recon 1.1) has been replaced with a restricted path (with rare exception) along which you must travel.
These points would be overlooked due to the improvements: availability of processing power for smoother textures, motion, etc. However, there are 3 main problems with this game that make it infuriating:
(1) there's no longer the notion of sneaking (which is supposed to be the core purpose of a "ghost recon" squad), as enemies seem to know exactly where you are even when crawling in cover, and
(2) their aim is fantastic...they all seem to be on par with US marine snipers,
(3) some part of the mission ends up getting messy, and you have to go through the whole mission over and over to the point of boredom.
Bottom line: Tries, but fails, to stradle the action of a battlefield game like Call of Duty, Brothers in Arms, or Shell-Shock (Vietnam) with stealth games such as the original ghost recon and SOCOM: Navy Seals.

I wouldn't call this a sequel, since it is too different from the soul of the original games.

Waste of time and money.

I thought about telling everyone that this game is great just so they would go out and waste thier money like I did.

Im sure you are all aware that the reason this game sucks so bad is because they forced it out so they could get it out before christmas so they could make a lot of money. First of all some of the graphics in this game look like paper mario. The videos are good but the actual game play sucks. I have played about five missions and havnt seen the XM8 yet. Not only have I not seen that weapon you only get about four different weapons to choose from. The fact that when I shoot a silenced pistol and everyone starts shooting at me is retarded. I hate the fact that I get 15 minutes into a mission and something stupid happens and I die and I have to replay the same mission 50,000 times. How about if you have a close quarters gun like an mp5 and your 2 feet from a guy and you hold down the fire button you wont even hit them once. I hate how if you want to change your stance he has to take a dump on the ground before he does it. He also runs like he has a you know what up his you know where. He runs so slow I think when im running i see a sloth walk past me. This game is worse then the new Medal of Honor game! Why is online not 3rd person? The list of how bad this game is goes on forever but im not about to waste any more of my time at this games expense, its not worth it dont buy it.
