The best current wrestling game!

This is the second installment of the smackdown series. And I see it has improved more than I imagened. This game has ton of new wrestlers and all of your old favorites. This game has also tons of new kinds of macthes including: Hell in the Cell, Iron Man, Handicap, Cage, King of the Ring, ladder, tons more. The storylines are fiannaly current. And you can now create your own allences which will help you durning the season mode. The season mode has not improved though it is slow and long and very unfair. The only good thing about the season is if you can stay in long enough you will get secreat characters. This game also has tons of new high flying moves and double team moves are amazing. This is an awsome game and a must buy but it could use some improvements.

WWF SmackDown 2 is a winner

If you like the first game then you will definately love the sequel !! Improved graphics, new moves and newer characters keep things interesting. You can play a season playing as a character, or do individual matches. Options like creating your own character, moves, ppv's, stables and more make this a great buy. I only didn't like when you had a ppv or a season Raw or smackdown where you as a player didn't participate. Hearing funky music while you see a health bar go back and forth took up too much time. But I Did enjoy going through all the different matches. Also, when you play a season you can get a chance to either help Vince out when he needs help. Say yes and you can be called into "special matches". Plus other great surprises. I would definately add Smackdown 2 to your collection. Its got the graphics and the feeling of really being a wrestler.

WHAT? This game is great

This game is GREAT. With so many different match types(tables ladders and chairs, cage matches, tag team, ladder matches, and much more), over 40 characters to chose from including : the rock, kane, undertaker, rikishi, scotty 2 hotty, xpac, edge, christian, mat and jeff hardy, and many more! The gameplay on this game is wonderful. It is very easy to learn the controls and to unlock many new different match types. This game is rock-bottoming fun.

pretty good but not enough for a true WWF fan

This is a very impresive game for the PS. Good graphics, good gameplay, and very addictive. There are many flaws though. One is that there is no commontary. Second is that there is all of these old wrestlers that dont wrestle any more like Mark Henry, Gangrel, Viscera, and about half of the others. Another is that you should be able to control your charactor when he/she is not in a match in season. I hate how weapons dont do any damage. I mean punching your opponent hurts them more than a ladder. the last thing is you cant go into the audience and the audience looks like animated cardboard cut-outs. There are so many more but they are smaller things that arent really noticable when you play. I am not trying to tell you not to get this game but there are just so many problems that THQ just ignored. There is one thing i forgot. they should really make BLEEMcast for this game.

Ultimate drinking game

This game boasts brilliant graphics that never seem sto slow down regardless of how many combatants are all milling about. The different modes of play are also top class. The best feature in my mind is the extremely in-depth 'build-a-wrestler' section. You really can create precisely whatever you have in mind with an exhausting amount of faces, physiques, tweaks and colour/shade meters. My only gripe is that if you are playing a game against more than one opponant, the controls have a tendancy to make your character focus on just one enemy, which is very very frustrating when you've levelled somebody and you're about to pummel the next guy, but your wrestler won't turn around. They seem to just stand there staring at the body on the floor when the other guy is kicking the chocolate outta you. Anyway, fine game. Fantastic fun when you've got a group of drunken mates around.

Keep ROLLIN'!

WWF SMACKDOWN 2 is one of THQ's most powerful hits for the PlayStation. With better graphics, Hell in the Cell matches, and plots that develop during short cinematics in the game, You may have to put the wife and kids to sleep on this one. Maybe no commentary like in the original Smackdown, but we can ALL live with that! So get pumped for Smackdown's next entry into the ring, when THQ releases SMACKDOWN 3 for the PS2, also, WWF RAW is WAR for the XBox.

Great game, just like it's original

Smackdown 2 is a great game for not just WWF fans, but fans of pro wrestling in general. The create a PPV is great, the season is much improved over Smackdown's, and the titantrons/characters are up to date compared to November, 2000.

If you haven't purchased this game yet and you don't like the PS2, buy this game! But if you own a PS2, I suggest you wait until Smackdown 3 is released later this year.

wwf smackdown 2 is not even out so why are people astying they've played. But there is going to be tlc matches, ladder matches, casket matches and yes hell in a cell and mor . the whole roster has been updated with sho funaki and even raven. The caw has been given a completemakeover. your wrestler could be an ex f1 racer. And you can have your own symbol like dx or tazz. Oh and there is a slobberknocker match where you have to defeat as many opponents as you can in certian time limit. The restyou can find out on the other customer reviews

If I didn't mark out for WWF, I would hate this game

Let me get to it: The wrestling engine, player lineup and create-a-wrestler are the most amazing things I've seen and are what make this game (except for 3-way or 4-way, because selecting which wrestler you are fightins is really annoying and those matches go FOREVER).

The thing I don't get is what's with the career mode? It is simply the most infuriating thing I've ever seen. You have to sit through all the matches on your "TV Show" or "PPV" (of course, you can skip them, but that takes 2 minutes a pop, JUST TO SKIP!), and your wrestler isn't even always on! Why do I have to sit through 7 matches that I'm not even playing in. SOOOOO BORING! Also, the cut scenes are an embarassment. There's like 5 different ones, and they take so long to load they are not even remotely worth it any shape or form.

Hopefully Smackdown 3 will solve these problems. If you have a bunch of friends and want to play this, get it, but if you want to entertain yourself, I'd wait.
