One word--wow!!! Playstation fans may be in a bit of a shock, for the graphics were originally made for SNES (anotherwords, 16-32 bit). Nonetheless, these are not games to be ignored--they are two of the most popular SNES titles around. Both come with new animation sequences (CT's anime, FF4's 3D), and are relatively simple to understand, control wise. Both have absorbing stories, good music, and characters you want to care about. A word of warning: FF4 has some "mild" language in it.

For me to see something like this package on Playstation that was originally on a super nintendo, is more than a great deal. If you loved any of the Final Fantasies, then you will love Chrono Trigger. This package is a must have. i should know cuz i own it, to me Final Fantasy 4 is very addicting and fun to play and give you more of a challenge. when i played Final Fantasy 9 it was rather easy, but when i played this, i was like wow, this is challenging. its a great game and i would never give it up. and another great game to own is Final Fantasy Tactics. one of my other fav RPGs is Final Fantasy 7, the first one i have ever played.

It was great going back to my gaming roots with Chronicles. These past few years, I whizzed through Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, Chrono Cross, Legend of Dragoon, Vagrant Story, and etc. Chronicles has challenged me once again. Forget about the graphics. Technology has spoiled you. Games aren't about graphics and sounds. Look past that. The real gem has always been the game play itself.

Final Fantasy 2 and Chrono Trigger are two of my favorite games ever. To make it better, Chronociles adds cut scenes to bring more real life to the games.

Whoever decided to rerelease these games is an utter genius. Crono trigger with it's added scenes was great. Plus all the added features at the end of the game are great. While FFIV can't compare with the current titles it is still a classic game and for many people their first final fantasy. These two great games prove that fancy graphics aren't everything.

Chrono Trigger is one of my alltime favorite games, and having it on Playstation is heaven to me. The extras added in, like the FMVs and the unlockables you get after getting each ending are a pleasant bonus to an already solid game.
Final Fantasy 4 is also a great game. I haven't finished it quite yet, so I can't really review it very well. All I can say is that quite a few new skills have been added, especially to that useless bard, and the graphic are smoother.
Yep, a great game to add to your Final Fantasy collection, especially if you are old enough to have played these when they first came out.
Does Chronicles stand the test of time?

The answer is Yesss! These are two of the best RPGs ever made. Final Fantasy IV has a great story (even though it still is dealing with the crystals) and has some of the most memorable scenes in gaming ever (like the trip to the moon). The gameplay is solid, and the added cinemas are decent. This game may be to difficult, even for master rpg gamers, but the feeling you get after beating it is enhanced because of the difficulty.
Chrono Trigger is one of the hardest to find, and best Super Nintendo games made and aren't we lucky that it is easier to find now? The answer to that is of course yes! Chrono Trigger is one of those games that I could be playing 20 years from now. The story is great, the fighting system is great, there aren't that many battles you can't avoid (thank God), and the anime cinemas by the creator of Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z added to this version are awesome. Plus, being able to travel through time just kicks...!

I rented this game and then had to return it before I was done. Now I absolutely HAVE to buy it. I'm not especially great at these games, but I found Chrono Trigger so engaging I just had to keep playing, and I was actually doing pretty well by the time I had to return it. I also seemed to be going through it a lot faster than with my other games. The graphics were great, especially considering how long ago they were done, and the new stuff was, of course, even better (how could it not be?) I also enjoyed the music, even a week later when it was still playing in my head. The battles weren't impossible even for an amateur like me, but it wasn't "point, shoot, you win" either. I must confess I got lost the first time in the prehistoric land, so for everyone as clueless as I was: the hunting grounds are north. I also liked the shopping system (seems like it had more variety than others I've played) and the enemies were great. And of course, I loved the characters, the story, the magic...the WHOLE GAME.
As for its companion, the Final Fantasy game (I won't even bother giving it a number, you know what I mean), well let's just say I'm buying this for Chrono Trigger. I may not be great at these things, but at least I usually care. Somehow I found myself getting bored five minutes into it. The graphics didn't bug me, and the story was all right I guess, but it just didn't seem to grab me. I let myself die in the first or second battle just to see what would happen, and then nothing ever really said "play again." I picked the game up because I had recently played FF9 and loved it, but this just didn't measure up for me. I was about to put it away when I remembered a friend mentioning the game Chrono Cross (the sequel, you know) and so I started playing Chrono Trigger to see what it was all about. I believe I already mentioned that I loved it.
Well, after writing this I'm positively itching to play Chrono Trigger again, and I'll even give "that other one" a try too. Maybe it's better than I remember.

The much anticipated re-release of two of Square's greatest SNES RPGs--FFIV(known as FFII in America) and Chrono Trigger--FFC is a feast for old-school gamers and younger ones who never got the chance to try these masterpieces. While I like FFIV and it's Active Time battle system, I adore Chrono Trigger and it's rich gameplay. CT could beat FFIV up and take it's lunch money every day. Given that bias, I intend to completely forego the FFIV review in favor of CT.
Chono Trigger was--is--a feast for RPG fans. A deep storyline that spans the eons, an unforgettable cast of well developed characters, good graphics (especially considering the time of development), and an excellent soundtrack give ample reason to play CT for hours on end with only soda and potato chips as sustanance. The battle system is smooth, the music perfectly accents the story and game (from the creepy music at Magus's Castle to the battle music at each of Lavos's three forms). Add to that the FIFTEEN DIFFERENT ENDINGS and you'll see why anyone would be happy to spent months playing and replaying the game. Also, New Game+ allows replay with all the stats and items of the previous file, so each run-through need not be tedious. It's a pleasure to see the goofy antics of Reptites, or the drama of Glenn's quest against Magus to unfold. The new FMVs drawn by the Dragon Ball Z artist himslef and bonus features unlocked by getting endings add to a mix that can only be called perfect. All that and few of the long loading problems and skipping from Final Fantasy Anthologies.
The only flaws that come to mind are the insane effort that has to put into levelling up after you reach a certain point (but by then it's totally unnecessary), and that each run-through gets progessively easier as you carry over more levels and item, so much that it becomes a joke to beat Lavos.
But in the end, CT was fun. Very fun. If you never played it on the SNES, try what you've been missing. If you indeed did play it through on the SNES, play through again not only for new features, but also for the sheer fun that is Chrono Trigger.
