Yeah I know its not released yet, but I played both games when i was younger, and i absolutey love em. Final Fantasy IV (II) was the first game I ever played on the SNES, and it feuled my love for RPGs. FFIV is such a great game. its challenging, fun, and the spells are just so cool! the bosses are actually fun to fight, but some enemies can really ... u off. but whats great about this version is that they added a two player battle mode, and you can actually run in the dungeons! in the snes version u have the same monotonous, slow pace thru-out the entire game, but now u can run! but i highly reccomend getting this game b/c they are goin to change the translation and add new CGs (FMVs) and it will be a fun new exp. for all the ppl who have played it! now, chrono trigger, ion my opinion, is the best rpg ever made. the story line is fantastic, the controls are easy and fun, and the attacks are just plain awesome. but what makes this game cool is this--there are NINE ENDINGS. there are nine times u can fight the boss and u get a different ending EACH TIME! so u can play this game to death! another thing is that u can start a new game (after beating it with all ur stuff from the last game. its is fun, but not really challenging. in this version, they added new anime movies from the artist of DragonBallZ! this is going to be an ecen cooler game than the SNES version. I highly recommend getting this package because it has some of thie best games ever made and it will be another great addition to ur PSX game collection. it will be part II of the SquareSoft "Blast From The Past Collection" and we can hope there is more to come...GET THIS GAME! :) your loyal gamer friend, -FZP

GOOD I'm the first to actully write a review here.
unfortinly I do not have THIS version yet but ... it's chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV two of the best games ever made. and you can have all these new RPG's, But Chrono Trigger still beats them all. All I can say is get this game. The loading time might kill like in Final Fantasy Anthology but I really didn't have much of a loading time with FFA as many people said they did. This is a Must buy I think.
Two great games, now in one box! ^_^

If these games on the playstation can live up to the original super nintendo versions, this is going to be a magnificent set. Final Fantasy IV (previously known in America as FF2) is one of the best FFs ever, and Chrono Trigger is DEFINATELY on the list of best 5 RPGs ever, on my personal list it is number 3 behind only Final Fantasy 3/6 (American number/Japanese or Anthology number) and then Final Fantasy 8. FF4 comes in at about 4 on my list of all-time rpgs, and I've played everything I've been able to get my hands on.
This is what many have waited for!

Squaresoft has finally gotten two of the greatest, FF4 and Chrono Trigger! It has been long awaited, and both of these games came out for SNES, and are now being released together on the PSX. There is to be added stuff in it, but since both the SNES versions were excellent, I'd say this will be too!

In essence, it was Final Fantasy 2 that hooked a lot of people into the the craze of the series b/c most didn't know of the first one. For those who did were ... over the 32-bit power of this enhanced game. It started most of the concepts that exist in today's recent Final Fantasy's. With this reproduction of this classic w/ new FMV's, it sure to draw back all the old fans as well as some new ones who are curious too see how much the series as evolved over time. If you can stand to revert graphics wise then you can really enjoy this game. After all, superior graphics cannot beat the power of a solid story line. Chrono Trigger, like most things, beats it's sequel Chrono Cross. After Final Fantasy 3 came out as well as Secret of Mana, squaresoft realized that alot of people loved final fantasy but liked Secret of Mana's fighting system where you can see the enemy before you get into a fight and can be prepared vs. just running into them by surprise. Squaresoft decided to combine the best of these 2 games and created Chrono Trigger and made it the best game for the SNES system, as far as RPG's were concerned. Some people may have noticed as I did that Chrono, the main character, looks a lot like Goku from Dragon Ball Z. The reason for this is b/c Akira Toriyama did the art work for it and has now done the anime cut scenes that have been put into the game which is something that I look foward to seeing. This is among my favorite RPGs, at least w/in the top 3. It still beats even a lot of new ones on the PS1. I recommend buying this even by the simple fact if you like RPGs, you are getting 2 for the price of one, and if you pre-ordered it from ..., then your saving even more money on 2 classic games that for me, started the fever for Role Playing Games that hasn't stopped yet.
FFC is matched only to the SNES versions of both games.

Final Fantasy Chronicles was releases on Friday, June 29. I recieved the game on its release date and took it home immediately. After frantically ripping the wrapping and the sticker-label off, I removed the Chrono Trigger disc and inserted it into my Playstation. The opening anime cut-scene is pretty cool but a little choppy at times (don't worry not all of the cut-scenes are choppy). To sum up the Chrono Trigger portion of FFC I have to rate this one a 4. If you want to open up the menu, or try to battle you should expect at most a 7 second wait. I AM glad to see that Square even paid attention to the game in the first place. I personally thought that they would ignore all the "please bring back CT" letters. The Akira Toryama anime cut-scenes are a great addition to this game though. The music is re-done and the graphics are a little cleaner (barely noticeable though, to retain the look of the original). All in All... IT'S CHRONO TRIGGER!! What else could you possibly want from Square? (They already have FFT covered too, expect that in July.) If you want Chrono Trigger for a fair price with bonus extras mode and anime scenes, then get this. Now on to FF2 (IV). FFIV is great on Chronicles. The load times aren't as grim as with CT and the script has been totally re-written. (Let's hope that they don't leave out the "spoony bard" line though). It is great and Square did a great job putting this on CD. The movie scenes are FF7esque and the menu is easily accesible. Not much more to be said about this game, it wasn't messed up as much. In closing, I recommend this game to those unfortunate souls who missed either Chrono Trigger or FF2 on SNES (including myself). If you have BOTH titles on SNES don't waste your money on this title unless you want them strictly for cut-scenes or to complete your collection. I gave this game 5 stars because I am thrilled that they brought these two classics back and with so many new things to explore about them. I hope this review helps you.
Amazing!!!

This game is extremely wonderful! Let me start by saying that I have played these games before, and since you could emulate em', you might figure why bother buying? In typical Square fahion the extras are cool, but not worth a purchase, and with a poor ... job in terms of actual production (the load times can be harsh), why bother? Because along with these faults, these 2 games have AWSOME GAMEPLAY & STORYLINES!!!! Throw some wicked cutscenes into the mix and you truly have something special. So in closing I say buy this game. For newbies (to the games) it's awsome, for vets its solid and ... everyone else!!
Nostalga galore!

Wow. I almost didn't believe it when I heard this was coming out. While I have never played Chrono Trigger, I have played the life out of my SNES version of FFIV (FFII in the states).
FFIV is an almost direct conversion of the original game, with some new translations that make the game more mature, not to mention amusing. They have added some new features, such as Dark for Cecil (remember the paladin scene? You can now use that cool attack). Other than that, the game remains the same, with few other things.
Now for the downside(s).
The FMV intro for FFIV is above average for the industry, which is to say it's a pathetic effort by Square, especially considering the quality of their other works. The save feature of FFIV is very slow for saving to a memory card, which does make the memo save more useful than usual. Finally, the game seems a bit more unbalanced than it used to be, I'm not sure whether this is due to tweaking, or simply my memory fading in my advanced years.
Chrono Trigger: Accessing the menu screen is a 10 second affair, and that's all simply due to load times. While not seeming significant, it WILL wear on your nerves before long. The delay before battles is long as well, 2-3 seconds where you think the game has frozen.
All in all, they have annoying tendencies that could have been easily fixed, resulting in a release that feels very rushed. Does this mean you should not buy it? Not at all. That just means that these very good titles have a few bugs. Bear with them, and you will be richly rewarded.
Enjoy!
