DDR for Wii Review

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 5

Wow! My daughter is getting some exercise during the cold winter, and I (her mom) am too! I love this game. I wish the girls in the video game were dressed more modestly however. Other than that, thumbs up for hours of fun, exercise and entertainment.

There's also a workout feature that lets you track calories.

Dance Dance for the Wii is with the purchase. This time you can use the Wii-mote and numchuck to do extra moves. People might say the graphics are not that good, but you are looking at the arrows not the background. Plus the GAMESTOP PAD WILL WORK. So if you need an xtra pad you can pick one up, they are only 19.99. If you like dance dance and have a Wii this game is for you.

Challenging, but fun

First couple plays of this game were somewhat challenging. Once I got the hang of it, though, it was REALLY fun. Would be a blast in a party/group setting. Looking forward to getting 3 more pads. Better have rhythm, or this game won't come easy at all.

FUN,FUN,FUN!

This game is fun AND you will break a sweat! It is tough, though. Putting the hands together with the foot coordination is a challenge even for a professional musician like me! I highly recommend this game!

Fun, but not enough songs

My fiance and I bought this game and an extra game pad and like to play it together. We enjoy the workout mode when it's not possible to go running outside. My only real complaint is that it gets hard pretty quickly and the song selection is really not that great.

I got this game for my kids for the holidays and they love it so much. They play it every single day, even now, two months later. Their friends come over and play it with them all the time. It is great exercise and they are learning songs other than what's on the top 40 radio station, which is great too. I have four daughters, ages 14, 14, 10 and 7, and they all love it. I don't know if it would be popular with boys, but the girls love it a lot! I highly recommend it for anyone with girls, especially ages 10-14.

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter as she had the same for her PS2 many years ago, thinking that she would take to this one with the same enthusiasm, much to my horror she said it was too hard, and to date only played on this about 3 times in total, maybe its the coordination (hands and feet) and she may just get into it in months to come, but from a parent perspective its a bit difficult, other than that the product is good, the mat i have to say is a little low cost, but suppose with anything costs have to be cut to bring the overall sale price into realistic values...

All in all, its ok with good tracks and decent workouts, just maybe not ideal if your kids are under 12...

A Longtime DDR Fan

I got this for Christmas and was thrilled. Before anything, we had our Wii set up and I was ready for dancing.
My first observation upon beginning game play was that I had to turn off the pesky hand movements part of the game. They were really just taking away from the all around experience.
Then, I saw the song list and was pretty disappointed. Some of the tracks were really fun..but it seemed mostly to comprise of radio songs with a techno twist.
The dances seemed a lot easier and well..it's just not a classic DDR game.

After playing for about a month, unlocking some of the better songs, my final say on the game is that looking at it as a game..seperated from it's predecessors, it's alright.
Looking at a long history of amazing DDR games though..this is a big let down.
Perhaps if we could move back to some of the more "DDR like" songs the game would be better.

very good

I see some of the bad points that other people have made in these reviews. They are all pretty accurate.

This is my first DDR experience. I will say that the songs are very challenging for me. 99 red balloons is really tough.

I have worked up to where I can do most songs on basic.

So for your average person that wants to try and get up and get moving I would highly recommend this title. I don't really see me getting really advanced but I should still be able to unlock enough songs and dance floors.
