One of the best pet simulators?

Nintendogs ushers in a new era of handheld pet simulators with crisp, fresh graphics, touch screen interaction and voice recognition. In Nintendogs, you first have to decide which puppie you want (each version has diiferent breeds). Then, you raise the puppie and feed it, give it water, wash it, play with it, and train it. The game is real time, so you can't completely forget your dog for weeks without it completely disliking you. You use the stylus to play and pet your dog, and certain strokes of it will cause the dog to sit, lay down, etc. While doing the stroke, you can say the command (for example, rub you stylus across the dog's back and it will sit, if you say sit when you do the stroke, it will learn that you saying sit means to sit.) Nintendogs look like an incredible game and truly shows the power ofthe Nintendo DS.
It's so real!

This game is very realistic. You get to pick a dog breed and raise your dog. At first, the game was a little hard because it was hard teaching my dog its name with voice commands on the speaker. It took me 2 hours to teach it its name. After you get that, the game gets fun. You get to teach your dog tricks and use them to win a dog show competion. If you win a dog show, you can buy stuff for your dog. If you get enough money, you can buy another dog! I really like taking my dog for a walk. You can meet other dogs around town. The onley problem I have with this game is that your dog goes to the bathroom on the floor. All you do then is to touch the paper bag with your stylis and it's automatic cleanup! Since my parents will not let me get a dog, this game shows me how to take care of a dog, so it's like my own dog! I recommend this game highly for dog lovers! Woof!(Bye!)

Trust me, when I saw this, I had my doubts, but then I saw the lab and friends version. I have a lab, so that attracted. Eagerly opening my game i realized, this has good graphics...
When you start, you are immeadiatley swept into the dog kennel. you pick your first gog. I got a lab, (yelloW) named molly. In this version you can pick from Labrador Retrievers, Miniature Schnauzers, toy poodles, pembroke welsh corgis, miniatuer pinschers, and shiba inus! let me tell you, if you think this is dumb or not cute, you have to have a cold heart, because the second I bought molly, i fell in love. it's so involving and cute. There's so much more, but this game, is the reason i kept my DS, and I'm glad I did.

Please, disregard the last review. Nintendogs will never be ported to the PSP. It is NINTENDO ONLY!!! The PSP does not have a microphone nor a touch screen and Sony does not currently have plans to make an add-on of either. I haven't acctually played the game so the 5 stars are meaningless. The bottom line is if you wait for the PSP version, you will never play this game because, it ain't gonna happen.

Nintendogs is a puppy simulator for the Nintendo DS. This is probably the best Nintendo DS game ever! I recommend getting a Nintendo DS just for this game!
There are 3 versions of this game: Chihuahua, Dachshund, and Labrador.
Graphics 10/10 - This game has jaw-dropping graphics! The graphics in this game are the best I've ever seen on a Nintendo DS! The framerate is smooth, which is very good.
Sound Effects 10/10 - This game has awesome sound effects! The dogs sound so realistic!
Visual Effects 10/10 - Great visual effects!
Gameplay 10/10 - This game is the #1 Sim/Stradegy game on the Nintendo DS!
Overall: With 6 breeds in each version, wireless multiplayer abilities (requires 2 DS systems and 2 copies of Nintendogs (any version)), 3-D graphics, ability to train your dog using voice commands, and tons of stuff to do with your dog, this game is a must-have for any Nintendo DS owner!
5 out of 5 stars

First of all there is sooooo not going to be a NINTENDOgs for the psp. Hello touch screen and mic!!!!! Second of all this games rules! Just because it's not about fighting dosn't mean it's a bad game. You can do all sorts of stuff. It's just like a real dog,but a lot of dogs can't do a lot of stuff in nintendogs. This game is great fun for boys and girls!
Wow.

I preordered the game because I could get a great deal on it, and figured it was too good to pass up, even if I hated the game. No need to worry about that.
I got it as soon as the shipment came in, and have played it nonstop since then... that's about 36 hours now. The American version is MUCH better than the Japanese game. There are extra items added, and each version has two extra starter dogs. Nintendo fans and online community members will recognize various Nintendo icons in the game, such as game creator (and creator of Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Pikmin, among others) Shigeru Miyamoto (called "Shiggy") with his dog Pik and former Nintendo Power writer (and current Localization Team member for NOA) Alan Averill, called Alan.
There are twenty breeds overall, with three variations of each. The game starts out at the kennel, and you pick your dog. After it comes home with you, you have to teach it its name. Young children who still don't speak clearly will have a hard time with the voice recognition, because they'll learn to speak correctly and the dog won't know it's name. There's also a lot of reading involved, and on a handheld, there's not much room to read it for your child.
There's no reason to buy all three versions of the game. The only difference between them is the starter dogs, but you can unlock every breed.
The Bark Mode allows you to stop playing but have your dog search for other players. If someone else playing Nintendogs comes into range, your dog will bark and you and the other person will be able to interact. You can also send the other person a present.
People saying this game is for little kids are completely wrong. I've seen people from age 3 to age 63 love this game- including myself at 16.
Lair of Eric recommended for ages 6 and up (or whenever you can read).
