When I first got this game for Christmas, and then another version for Easter, I was very excited because I heard great things about this game. And I still feel that way. I must play this game 4 or 5 times a day. Although it has some downsides, it is a great game for anyone who loves dogs.
PRO's:
Your dog never grows old & remains a puppy for the entire time you play the game.
It is addicting and a fun game.
The graphics are outstanding.
Taking your dog for walks and entering it contests can bring you prizes, items, or/and money.
It is so much fun picking out what dog you want to buy & you can browse between many- and each dog has it's own personality!
This game never gets old.. for me, atleast!!!
CONS [although there aren't many!]
If you do not play the game for a while, your dog turns against you and becomes very angry with you.
It can get fleas from going outside.
You can only take it for a walk every 30 minutes, enter it in 3 contests a day, and train it three tricks a day!!
Now that I am done giving you my input on this spectacular game, I must conclude with one phrase that will sum everything up. "BUY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!"
Hope I helped `=D

All in all, I honestly can never tell when a game can surprise you as a big hit. That has been the case with virtual pets and Pokemon. Going back to the 90's, that has been a very popular trend. Although many peopl have honestly thought that was definitely going to fail. Ironically, when Nintendo released the DS system last year, they just really haven't found a game that would definitely appeal to all ages. Although they have had some good games like Meteos, a revised edition of Super Mario 64, there just hasn't been something for all pet lovers to really enjoy. Now, there is something for them to enjoy.
Nintendogs for the Nintendo DS, is the latest answer to virtual pets. The game features a variety of loveable dogs that you can make them do tricks, roll over, and chase their tails. The dogs are vurtually adorable and have the unique appeal you'd see dogs have in any pet store. The graphics in the game really do come out very well, within each detail of all of the canines, while the music might be cutesy and sometimes too annoying. The control for all of the editions is very simple to maintain within the stylus, and definitely can be maintained simply with the turn of the hand. With each dog, you can also get special treats like collars, and pet toys and make them do special tricks for more funds as well.
All in all, when I got to try the demo edition of this game, I honestly thought this would be very interesting to try and own. I was right. Nintendogs is a great game for all Nintendo DS owners young and old, and for those who want a dog, but just simply can't afford it.

Hi, first thing's first - This game isn't everyone's cup of tea, some like pet sims, some like shoot-'em-ups. This review is for the former, or those that want to buy this game!
Nintendogs is a charming game (yes, folks, it's still a game!), with nice music, sweet animation and graphics and innovative gameplay.
"Sounds" - The dog barks are very realistic, and the little jingles when you teach a dog a new trick fills you with happiness (that could just be me...). The music is very suited to the game, and the piece when you take your dog for a walk is amazing - a French tinge to it, I'd say....
Graphics - An important part of this game, as it's trying to win over people with the cute little puppies! Very smooth and realistic, a few glitches here and there, like the frisbee fuzzed in the dog's head, but it is a very interactive game and these things can't be helped. The dogs interact realistically too.
Gameplay - The best use of the mic in any DS game to my knowledge (I'm in the UK), it is a little frustrating when trying to teach a new trick but the dog just looks at you with THOSE eyes (you know the ones...). Eventually they learn it, and the little jingle fills you with satisfaction and pride. One thing though, don't take this game out into public - it makes you look like a girlie when people see what you're playing (apart from Japan, where it's the norm) and talking to your handheld? Man, other people don't realise it has a mic, unless they own a DS too, I s'pose... Anyway, it just makes you look like a berk.
In-game 'things' - You can walk your dog (one of my favourite bits, you don't have to walk with it!), feed it, wash it, pet it, teach it tricks, take part in competitions etc. There are loads more, but you definitely need a break from it after a while, to let the dog get hungry, dirty etc.
If you are thinking about buying this game and have pestered your parents / talked to laods of people about it, buy it. If you are thinking about it but haven't done any of the above, think about it a bit more. I just love Nintendo, so I was destined to buy this game! Personally, I'm now looking forward to Animal Crossing DS, and I'll probably get that for Christmas because I'll bug my parents about how you can live in this village and lead an alternate life and fish and catch bugs and pay off a mortgage and live by the sea and- here I go again.... Bye for now, next review should be for AC DS!!!!!
P.S, My dog is called Ninty (short for Nintendo) and is a female Labrador. She is currently leading a very healthy, happy existence inside my DS!

My Review For the Nintendogs game is outstanding. The idea is terrific especially for people who do not have a dog nor do have allergies. I recently played this edition of the Labrador Retriever and I was amazed of what it can do. Its a stimulated game where it is like in a real life situation. You feed the dog, train it in order for it to listen to you, and much more. Although its a great game it also have negative parts about it. I suggest the people who have patients to play and train this game then do buy the game. Opposite of this is, the people who are fustrated and impatient to play and train this game should not buy it. Takes a lot of breath to train a dog in that game. I rate that a 5 out of 5
Some technical features about this game taken from the offical Nintendo website:

How Do I Play?
This is your pet, and although it doesn't shed, it still needs your love. With the stylus, you pet your Nintendog, all the way from head pats to belly rubs. The more love you give, the more your Nintendog will bond with you. As your puppy becomes your best friend, you use the built-in microphone to teach your dog its name and many tricks! So after you train your dog to know its name, it will come to you (and your DS's bottom screen) when you call its name. After it learns a trick, it will perform that trick when you tell it to. After it learns the sit command, your pup will take a seat each time you say "Sit."
Of course, like a real dog, you need to care for your little pup. This includes regular feeding, watering, walking and bath time. If you're a person who doesn't play video games every day, don't worry about anything bad happening to your Nintendog if you don't get to it every day. Nintendogs don't die, and they stay puppies forever. If you haven't played the game for a few days, though, your puppy will be thirsty, hungry and might need a bath when you start the game up.
Your puppy needs to go out for walks, naturally, but these walks are special. In addition to giving your pup some exercise, your Nintendog will come across special item boxes. Inside these boxes are all sorts of goodies, from apparel to toys. With tons of items to be found, your Nintendog will always be stylin' or at least have a fun ball to chase around.
Be The Best
Nintendogs isn't all pet and prim. There are trophies to be won, and money to be made! Show that your Nintendog is best in show by winning the three events: disc competition, agility trials and obedience trials.
In obedience, you score big points when your puppy does a certain set of tricks at your command, so grooming and a good relationship with its master is vital. With agility trials and the disc competition, you'll use the touch screen to throw a flying disc or lead your dog through an agility course. These two require some practice before you actually enter the events (although some dogs are just naturals at catching a disc).
With the money that you earn from the events, you can buy supplies and more dogs from the kennel! Don't let your Nintendog get lonely. You can keep up to three dogs at a time, and you can store more at the "dog hotel" where they'll look after your dogs.
Bark, Bark, Bark!
If another person is playing Nintendogs within the Nintendo DS's wireless range, the two of you can meet in Bark Mode. When you enter this mode, your DS searches for a wireless partner. When you've found a match, your dog will play with that person's dog!
You can bring gifts into Bark Mode and swap them with fellow Nintendogs players. Also, you can unlock a breed on your game card by meeting a dog of that same breed in Bark Mode.
Bottom Line
This truly unique experience will do more than bring you and your Nintendog together. It opens your eyes to a whole new way to play video games!
I Love Nintendogs!

We go back a year ago to when Nintendogs first came out.
You see the comercial with the girl complaining about her stuffed animals.
A while later my dad asked if I wanted it. I told him I wasn't interested.
A chunk of time later I go to a soccer game and see my friend there. She has the game. I got hooked on to it right away!
Thanks to the non-attractive comercial I was playing with my friend's games until Christmas.
At first I wanted a Chihuahua and Chihuahua & Friends because I'm in love with Chihuahuas.
As in my waiting period for the holiday, I had a black Lab that I adore very much so I changed my mine so that I wanted a black girl Lab in Lab & Friends.
When I got it on Christmas day I screamed so hard!
I named her Warfess.
It took me a while to teach her her name.
I was playing with it that day non-stop.
When the family on my father's side came, I just was sitting around walking and playing with Warfess the whole time.
I never played competitions with Warfess until one day, at my gran gran's, I was doing the disc competition with Warfess. Those disc games did a lot for her!
Then a while after Christmas, just me and Warfess, my friend who also has Nintendogs said that she and her brother wanted a schnauzer.
When I went home and I thought about it. I was getting her a Schnauzer.
With the extra money from the disc contest I was able to buy a girl schnauzer. It took me a while to name her. I thought "What's gray?". Then I thought of "Shadow". So Shadow's her name!
Then a few months later, my friend was saying how an orange Shiba looked like a fox.
With the extra cash from the contests I decided to buy an orange Shiba.
It took me a while to find what I wanted.
My friends named their Shibas "Foxie". I didn't wanna be a copycat so I named her "Foxa".
The 3 of us are chilling now!
Were "Champer Control"!
GO NINTENDOGS!!!!!!
I truely recomend this game for DS starters!
Don't start with Animal Crossing!
Nintendogs will keep you busy with your DS until you get a new game!
Hope this helps!

I've wanted this game since August and finally got it for my birthday. I thought the breeds were very convincing and adorable. my virtual family now consists of two shiba inus, Zeus and Athena, and Dallas my german shepard dog. I love the different personalities of my dogs. You have to do most of the things that a real dog needs such as feeding, brushing, walking, and (was that a flea that leapt from my dirty dog?) cleaning. I enjoy watching the sunset and taking moonlit walks. It is truly magical practicing frisbee late at night in the park with noone around. If you are considering getting an Nintendog, get it! But be prepared for a bit of work too! Training for competiton is hard, especially when your dog decides it refuses to go across the tetter totter no matter what. Older children may find the game a bit easy, but if you are a true animal lover, who like myself cannot have a dog because of housing, you will learn to enjoy just spending time with your dogs, and dreaming of the day when you can have a real dog.
P.S. Could there be nintendohorses too, where you muck, groom, train, and compete in numerous events of all disciplines? Just a suggestion.
The Best Christmas gift for my grandson

Well, it was a bit of a hassle getting it to my grandson who lives a 1000 miles away, because of the Christmas rush and demand, so he received Nintendogs Lab after Christmas, and it was the one gift he really really wanted! He is nine and a half and LOVES this game! My son, his father, says he has worked up to 6 dogs and has them do tricks as sit, lie down, fetch, etc. My grandson recently told me, however, he's cut back to 4 dogs as that number is easier to keep. Even three months after receiving Nintendogs Labrador he still loves the game and has not grown tired of it. I know absolutely nothing about it, never have seen it, only know what my son and grandson tell me. My grandson is quite easy to please, but rarely gets this enthusiastic about a gift given. He would rate this game 5 stars for both fun and overall. It appeals to him in both entertainment value and intellectual stimulation. I not sure how happy I am with children glued to little "Gameboys," as our 4 year old granddaughter got hers also at Christmas [from our daughter], but at least with Nintendogs there is some educational value about it.
My 9 year old daughter loves this!

This is the first game my daughter asked for when she upgraded to the DS. She has had it for over a month and now has four dogs in the game. So far she is not showing any sign of getting tired of it. Her friends have other versions of Nintendogs and they often link their systems and let their dogs play together. I think she's enjoying this game as much as any game she has ever had.

I've had this game for my DS for about a month now and I absolutely LOVE it! It is amazing how the built in microphone works. There is so many things that you can do with it also. There's contests, shopping, walks, and bark mode where you can look for friends. I love this game out of the other 8 games I have for my DS. A TRUE FAVORITE! It is definetly worth $30.
Pretty Good, But Not Too Exceptional...

Well, I got this last year, and I have to say I really loved it. I played for a while, constantly training and playing with my own virtual pup! ^-^ But, unforutanelty, my constant playing was Nintendogs' eventual downfall. It suffered from EPS, Ecessive Playing Syndrome. Basically, you play it 'till it's sucked dry, and there's nothing left to do.
At this point, I'll point out the Pros, Cons, and the In-Between Things that Aren't Really a Pro or Con.
Pros: *Lovely Graphics, it makes the game look realistic.
*A large assortment of toys to be found!
*Bark mode: let your dog interact with other player's dogs. For me, it's a bit pointless, since I don't even use it, but oh well.
* Do realistic things like Feed, groom, and play with your puppies!
Cons: *Not enough breeds. And, the ones you do have, really aren't all that great. (Except for the Labrador ^-^)
*NOT ENOUGH TO DO!!! This is the last, and pretty much worst of all the cons. Although there is only two cons and four pros, the cons outweigh the Pros by a longshot. Graphics won't make up for the fact that the gameplay is not substantial. Sure, it's fun adopting a pup for the first time, and training them, but let's face it. After a week, it gets repetitive. The only way to 'play' with your virtual pup is to pet it, or throw a stick, ball, etc at it. And when you take your dog on a 'walk' it's really pretty boring, and It's only a way to get more balls. Contests are sort of fun, but there are only three different types, and you can only enter each one three times a day. -_-; Plus, you can only have three dogs with you at a time. The others have to be stored at a hotel.
In-Between Things: Dogs don't grow up. Not exactly a con, but not a pro either. Nor is it realistic. It's sort of endearing to watch a dog grow up. Now, the dog could grow up, but, it wouldn't have to die either. (This is the way it is in the Petz games, for the computer. They grow up, but never die. plus, they can breed and have kittenz, or puppiez. yes, in the Petz games, there are Catz.)
Overall, this game is about a C-. Good graphics, boring gameplay. This is a game to rent, not buy. Overall, I'd suggest you buy the Petz games instead. A LOT more to do in those games. Until next time! C-ya!
