I purchased this game for my daughter. She is having a wonderful time training her puppy! There are so many things to do with your dog -take walks, teach him/her new tricks, enter them in contests, etc. Well worth the money,
Love it and I am old!

I received this game for Christmas. I am a 47 year old Mom with actual dogs of my own. I love this game! Since it is voice controlled, and I now have 3 vitual dogs in the house, I need to talk to the game frequently. I can honestly say that the 4 legged, hairy dogs I own, are jealous of the game! They will also sit, lie down and beg along with the virtual dogs! It is too wild. I play the game frequently and I find that you kinda get attached the virtual pets. Each pet has a different personality and reacts differently. It is just a hoot! The first time hubby took one of the dogs for a walk and it stopped to do it's business, he looked at me and said, "You have got to be kidding me!" It is just a fun game. Make sure to pet your pet often so it will sparkle and love you!
If only all dogs were this cute

The advantage of this game is that you can unplug it and do something else and the dog is just as you left it when you return.

*sigh* At first I was very in love with this game. Being an animal lover who can't have a dog right now, this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. I adopted a Shiba Inu named Bo. Very loyal and friendly. He learned quickly and we got through many competitions. After a couple days I noticed he had fleas. So I gave him a good scrub down and brushing and was sparkling clean. Literally.
Overall the interaction in the game was entertaining. Being able to find things and play with the dog. I especially liked the difference in length the discs would go. I acutally had a life preserver which was the best for competitions. Agility training was entertaining and a bit of a challenge.
On walks there were some drawbacks. There was a beachfront. Yet you couldn't take your dog to the beach to play in the waves. The game became very unrealistic. Of course, the first thing you notice is the dogs will never change from their age. They are stuck as puppies. Though many of the breeds are miniature adults ie: the corgi. Puppy corgi's do not have an enlongated body yet.
As it came being an older game player, I had less time to devote to fake walks, and meaningless competitions. After being gone so long, I'd spend a lot of time (I currently have 3 dogs) cleaning them up feeding them getting one on a walk before I was bored out of my mind. It's the NEVER ENDING GAME. Your dog doesn't get older, it does not get sick, It does not steal small snacks from you when you're not looking.
The game became stale and fast. As far as game play and touch screen. Pretty neat. Playing jump rope, or people being able to have a mini helecopter or mario kart excellent. But the idea of having this game forever? A dog forever? Unrealistic. It's like the movie the Matrix where the "creator" said the first matrix was without violence without crime without disease. It crumbled in on itself. And this is how I see Nintendogs. Because there is no death, there is no disease, there is no realism to the game other than a good belly rub.

I got this game when it first came out and ever since then I have loved it! Everytime we go on a car ride or when we're running errands, I always bring this game and I will play it the whole time! Its a great game for all ages! I am 12 years old and still not tired of it! When my little cousins come over, they fight over who's going to play Nintendogs first.
This game has great graphics and really does teach you the responsibility of having a dog!
OK I love this game but it's not coming out on PSP!!

OK this game is awesome!! and it's not coming out on PSP why.... because then u couldn't pet your dog, feed it, walk, it and play with it cause u need a touch screen and a stylus to do that!!! So don't wait cause it's not coming out on PSP so don't even wait cause then u couldn't do what is listed above!! So if u have a DS and $30 dollars then go out and buy it! I love it!! P.S. again it's not coming out on PSP cause u couldn't do what u can do with it on DS!! IT'S NOT COMING OUT ON PSP PEOPLE!!

This has got to be one of the coolest games ever. I mean, sure I have a real dog, but that doesn't mean i still can't enjoy playing with a virtual dog. I mean, I can't take my golden retreiver on trips to the store and stuff. She does not really like riding in the car anyway. Now they found a way for me to have a dog that can come with me. I'm thrilled. My real dog isn't very easy to train. My virtual dog is really easy to train. I play with my nintendog about every other hour for at least 45 minutes unless I'm asleep. I still play with my real dog though. If I'm playing with my virtual dog and my real dog brings me a toy, I stop and play with her. Having a virtual dog does not stop you from loving a real dog. I love both. One I play tug a war with and the other I enter in agility and obedience contests. It all balances out. There could be more to do, but I still find enough to entertain me. I only have one nintendog and I still have many activities I can do with her. Because she is a nintendog, I have some ver serious doubts that there will ever be a psp version. Keep dreaming or give up and buy this awesome game!!!!!
THE best game EVER

3 words. BUY THIS GAME. It is awesome. These kids in my class have it and talk about it all the time. If you are a parent and dont think that your chiled should have it, think about this. This dog dosent wake you up at all hours of the night. It dosent requere you getting up at 5:00 to feed it. Going to the store to get food,Forget it! And best of all no OPSIES if you know what I mean. So parents if your kid wants this game get it for them. And if they dont,it would be a great surprise.I am 12 and want it for christmas because I cant have a dog. So if you are like me this is the next best thing
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Nintendos Labrador version is brilliant, You can have I think it is 8 dogs, 3 at home and the rest in the kennels, the interaction is brilliant, you use the touch screen to stroke and brush your dog or even to throw balls and other toys. You can even blow into the DS built in microphone to blow bubbles in the game. The rest I am yet to find out but I definatly reccomend the game to everyone. Now im just waiting for a Nintencats, I think that would be good. Overall rating 10/10
