007,that's how you spell James Bond

this game is the best!I used to have golden eye 007 and it's multi-player mode is so much better ,but the the world is not enough game has a 20x better one player mode!you hear the voices of the people instead of letters at the bottem.but some levels are not even close to the movie like the second and to warn you that if you are going to buy this game, you better have a controller pak ready because it's the only way to save!

I'm glad I didn't get rid of Perfect Dark

Don' get me wrong. This edition of Bond is Good. The graphics are great and the framerate crisp, but the weapons are limited, the multi-player boring, and if you fail a mission it automatically ends it. I thought it was fun on the first bond and PD that if you failed a mission you could still continue with it if you wanted. I got the game yesterday and I'm 3/4 of the way through it. It took me a couple of months to get through PD. And I'm still messing around with the Challenge mode options.

All in all T.W.I.N.E. is a solid game, but it comes up a little short in the end

EA, when will you learn?!

Goldeneye is the best game on N64, even beating Zelda, which I happen to like quite a lot...mainly because it is made by RARE...and the name is a pretty good one: It's "Rare" that you find such great games such as Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. So when EA took over the business of Bond, they were in for a lot of work.

And they didn't do a good job. I bought Tomorrow Never Dies for PSX...that game sucked...but when TWINE came out, I thought I'd give it a chance considering the reviews it received. For one thing, it sure beats TND...but that's not a compliment. The graphis of TWINE are just about as good as Goldeneye's, but the people look better, and they talk, so that's cool. However, Bond moves noticably slower in TWINE, and the red dot on the screen that never leaves can get annoying. The guns shoot better, and are much, much louder. I like how it reloads like Perfect Dark, where you can actually see Bond insert a new clip. (and by holding B and pressing Z, you can put a silencer on your P2K and do other things...very impressive.)

Next, I like the multi player levels...they're big and pretty fun, but there's something missing...I don't know if it's the lack of players you can choose from, or how the game runs just as slow as the 1 Player, and doesn't make it as exciting. I liked Goldeneye when you'd chase a guy around while being shot at, and still get away. No can do in TWINE...you either shoot the guy then get shot from behind, or never get the guy in front of you...and I hate those sneak attacks! All of a sudden you're getting shot in the back of the head, and you turn around to face your death...very annoying.

So why did I give this game three stars? It has better weapons and graphics, and the game itself has some pretty impressive levels too. However, the control factor here can get annoying: first, the aim is nearly impossible to master, and you can't look up and down easily without aiming. Plus, when you get used to the fast paced action of Goldeneye, playing TWINE can get pretty boring. (But I do enjoy how the guys die in TWINE...they have cooler deaths than in Goldeneye.) Well, after playing The World Is Not Enough, you feel a little disappointed. The game is slower, the guns are harder to shoot and not as accurate, and overall, it's not as fun...plain and simple. (and why is there a loading screen?! This isn't Playstation!)

So here's the deal: If you like Goldeneye, get Perfect Dark...but if you're too stubborn to play a game starring a girl, then by all means, buy the sequel to Goldeneye...it's not my money...but if it was, I'd be taking Perfect Dark instead.

(However, if you own a PlayStation and don't have Medal of Honor, you better get it, and its sequel: Medal of Honor: Underground. They both are very fun, and as close to Goldeneye as you can get...they're great shooting games, and from EA...is it even possible?! I guess so. (I'd rather be James Paterson from MOH than be the slow, kinda fat James Bond from TWINE...that's what I think, anyhow.)

The World is Not Enough: FPS Shooter's Heaven

If you are a fan of F(irst) P(erson) S(hooters), or of the 1997 hit game Goldeneye 007, this is the game for you. The World is Not Enough has it all. Shoot all kinds of weapons, from semi-automatics to missile launchers to spear guns; change your gun from automatic to semi-automatic or silence it with a controller keystroke; play one of the very cool multiplayer scenarios and even name your character in multi; dive underwater, jump from roof to roof in Bilbao, you name it, TWINE has it. Not only do you receive these cool features, but TWINE has cinema scenes with real audio clips! I am very confident that, if you liked Goldeneye, you will eat TWINE up. I am 17, so I should know what I'm talking about since I'm a teenager. The missions are challenging and realistic, and you get real weapons, not futuristic ones like the Moonraker Laser, which is cool but non-existent. Whether in single player or multiplayer, you will have many, many hours of enjoyment from this game. I recommend it to anyone 13 and up. And always remember.... one thing you have to remember in TWINE is ... or be ...!

Stealth and Intrigue to a new level!

TWINE is a game that I thought would be hard pressed to live up to the quality established by Goldeneye. In many ways, TWINE surpasses Goldeneye to my surprise, it features quick gameplay, smooth graphics, tough missions requiring discretion about firing, and a good storyline. The mission segments of the game really have it all (except for driving the BMW and the boat), you can blow up a helicopter, swim, disable alarms, use night vision and radar glasses, weapons have secondary functions, and enemies are surprisingly perceptive to your movements evidenced by the fact that they can hear your footsteps and react! The multiplayer section could be improved by offering variable intelligence levels for the AI because these guys are TOUGH! The multiplayer moves very fast though and there are several strategic games to play like "capture the flag". The only way this game could get any better is to allow you to drive, make variable AI intelligence, and have some missions based on older movies as seen in Goldeneye. Overall this game can beat Goldeneye based on its fast frame rate, huge levels, multiplayer options, and large selection of weapons, gadgets, and characters with excellent graphics and voice compression. Kudos to EA, who has long dominated sports games(in my opinion), on creating a fabulous first person shooter!

Joanna who?

This game is definitely more lethal than Goldeneye. I love the voices that are in there, but I wished they would have more of the actors that play the characters. I also wish Agent mode wasn't so easy. I felt it was a lot harder in Goldeneye. I feel this game has a lot of reply value. I love the new weapons it has! You can't really compare Goldeneye to TWINE because Rare did Goldeneye and EA did TWINE. I feel EA did good on carrying on the Bond legend! I also feel by the time you'll be done playing this game you'll be saying, "Joanna who?" Bond is definitely BACK!!

Design Errors keep this game from overtaking PD

When I heard about a sequal to Goldeneye I was interested to say the least, I read some previews and it looked cool so I preorderd it. After beating it I was left with mixed feelings, Yes the visuals are good, but PD or even the aging Goldeneye could easily compete. This would sit up on the high throne of FPS if it weren't for design flaws so obvious you wonder what got over EA. First of all the loading screens, N64 owners will not wait 15 seconds for a game to load, not to be confused with PSX or PC owners. And the expansion pack issue, when you set it to high resolution the frame rate drops to about 15-20 FPS, causing me to play the game without expansion pack support. Enemy placement is good but does not vary, making very small replay value. And another issue, EA tried to make a non violent first person shooter, I mean I don't want to sound barbaric, but when you shoot someone blood goes everywhere, and this should be present in a shooting game, even if it is restricted to blood patches, I mean go all the way or stay home. I don't want to sound like a nay-sayer this game has good points too like the bond theme and characters all though I would have to admit it would take alot more polygons to properly animate Denise Richards. All in all a great game held at bay by dissapointing weaknesses

Not as good as Goldeneye64, but still a good game....

I purchased this game a few days ago and was surprised by the quality of the solo missions. They are very in depth (is that two words???) and contain many cinematic clips. Mabey it's just Rareware (action games) vs Electronic Arts (sports games ) but Goldeneye was made three years before this game without the expansion pak and the graphics are still 10* better. It may sound idiotic, but when I put in the game and began playing, I turned off the 64 and tried pushing in the expansion pak further. It was all ready in all the way. Another annoying thing is that Bond walks up and down. Whenever you walk anywhere, the screen goes up and down up and down up and... you get the idea. Oh yeah, did I mention the multiplayer [isbad].What were they thinking? I think the video game is actually the result of the movie. The film Goldeneye was awesome and they made an awsome game for it. I thought that the film TWINE .... If you are reading this review and trying to decide whether to buy this game, it's you're call.....

Say goodbye Perfect Dark there's a new game in town.

Wow! That is what I thought when I opened up the package and saw the BLUE game cartridge! And the game lived up to the Hype that surrounded it. You are James Bond and you have at your disposal dozens of Q labs gadgets, from the taser watch to the mighty anti-tank missile...yes I said missle! The voice acting is supperb with the voices sounding just likle the stars(oh and by the way John Clese reprises his role to provide the voice of "R"). My only complaint is that the Multi-Player does not allow you to tinker with all the little things but it more that makes up for it by having a fanominal frame rate. If you are thinking about buying a FPS(First person shooter) by The World is not Enough. RIP Perfect Dark 05-2000- 10-2000, Survival of the fittest you know Joanna. BOND IS BACK! Thanks.

See the world through the eyes of Bond, again.

In 1997, Rareware brought us the successful first-person shooter, "GoldenEye." The game was great in so many ways and it became a part of everyone's collection. Three years later, the people of Electronic Arts, Eurocom Software, and MGM Interactive brought us another winner. "The World Is Not Enough" is the best movie-to-game translation on the N64. To start off, the graphics are superb. The backgrounds are well-detailed as are the characters. The various weapons look excellent and sound excellent, too. Unfortunately, the game lacks the classic James Bond theme, but makes up for it with realistic and great-sounding explosions and clear gunfire, not to mention good voice-acting. The music gives the game the real James Bond feel, it doesn't get any better than that. In terms of gameplay, the single-player is great and addictive, but the multi-player is nothing new. Stick to "GoldenEye" for great multi-player. You'll be playing this game for a while with the many secrets that can be unlocked. To sum it all up, "The World Is Not Enough" can certainly hold its own against "GoldenEye."
