This is seriosly one of the best games I've ever played. Fast based Mech action is right. The game is so fast and the AI is so intelligent that you'll actually start to feel like Dingo, the main character. The storyline is so much better than the first game and Dingo is SOOOOOO much more mature then that whiny brat, Leo. The music is really engaging, but the game's real strength is in the gameplay. I mean, what's not to like about dashing from one opponent to the next and slashing them to explosion.

Z.O.E is a very supreme game for gamers who love action type games. The reason for that is that the controls for Z.O.E are set well enough to give you lightning-speed capabilities.Konami is the best at making action games, in my opinion. The story was very well-sceamed and the music was a great addition to the game. Also, if one of your gamer buddys starts saying he or she can beat you or is better, Z.O.E has a versus mode that'll decide who the real master is.I beat my brother and proved I am the best. And an artistic bonus was added to Z.O.E, some scenes are cartoon animated. The graphics on Z.O.E were amazing, but still not as good as Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty.Well Konami did do a great job on Z.O.E, but my favorite game of Konami is Castlevania Symphony of the Night.Well either way, Z.O.E is a great game.Buy it now!
beautiful and fast, but repetitive

I can't say that I completely share the enthusiasm of other reviewers...
ZONE OF THE ENDERS 2 is a good game with beautiful, stylized graphics. It's fast, with lots of combat action and gorgeous special effects. Unfortunately, I find the combat to be repetitive and somewhat obvious.
I don't think the story is great. It's convoluted and choppy, and the constant interruption of anime cinematics gets aggravating. There's a lot of watching in this game...it makes for more of an interactive experience, I suppose, but it gets tiresome.
The art direction is top notch, without a doubt, but the mech-element is hardly integral. You in no way feel like you're in a lumbering behemoth...instead, you're super-fast and flying in zero gravity. It's all good fun, I suppose, but if you're a mech enthusiast and you're looking for some MECH ASSAULT type of experience, look elsewhere.
ZOE2 is basically a beautiful 3D shooter, physics be damned. Perhaps if some kind of online or multiplayer option where included the experience would be more rewarding. Better than the first game and definitely worth renting, if not to experience the look alone.
This is what VIDEO GAMES are SUPPOSED to be like!

This game is fast paced and it is actually a challenge. From the very beginning it grabs you with its much improved story and doesn't let go. I just got it the other day and I have not stopped playing it. It is a must have for anyone that likes action games. You WILL NOT be DISAPOINTED. Trust me.

This game is one of the greatest games ever created. It will show you what a game should be. It is a must buy. The only complaint I have is the length. Its really short. I beat it in a total of four and half hours. Its still worth every penny.

What an awesome game! all I'v to say is the vs battle was superb where u get to battle against all the defeated bosses or become them. Its pretty challeging with some of the bosses but its all worth it when u recieve ur subweapon called the vector cannon. What power! better than ffx7 13 knight summon

This game puts other games to shame when it comes down to it. It has the best graphics ever seen on the PS2, the story is superb, and the game play is outrageous. This is a must buy!

Though I never played the first installment of this, I did not feel at all lost during the whole course of the game and it is quite easy to pick up the whole scheme of the game. However, for those looking for some enrichment into the previous story, there is an option to learn about the previous game's storyline.
Gameplay is fast, fierce, and extremely fun. I cannot stress enough how fun it is and combat is often chaotic (at some points, a little frustrating). Jehuty (the orbital frame you pilot) controls like a dream, with quick response and fluid execution. When the battle heats up, you most likely will not find yourself fumbling for the right buttons, as the control scheme is comfortably laid out.
The difficulty level is higher than your average game but is not impossible (I'd gauge its difficulty lower than Devil May Cry), there is always a strategy in each mission and against each boss which is usually not uncovered until dying a couple times. Which is nothing to worry about, since finding out the right way to do it is half the fun. However, be warned, some parts can be very frustrating, especially some boss fights that will make you see the "Game Over" screen a few times.
This game has much replay value, despite its short length (6-8 hours), especially with the versus mode and extra missions you can unlock. After beating the game, there is an option to go through the game with a different kind of Jehuty on the difficulty of your choice and to unlock different orbital frames for versus mode. For added challenge, the extra missions offer different scenarios. Be forewarned, though, the reward for finishing the extra missions is pretty pathetic.
The graphics are absolutely beautiful. The game uses cel-shading in an aesthetically pleasing way, with fancy effects and spectacular explosions. It fits quite well with the cutscenes, which are actual anime cels.
The story fits the game well, though it isn't exactly the most thought-provoking or terribly original story out there. It lacks in some parts, failing to explain some main points but does not exactly cause sleepless nights. Though the anime cutscenes are great looking, there's too few of them. Most of the story passes by through little windows the characters use to communicate with each other onboard their orbital frames. But my biggest gripe is the lamentable voice acting. Lines sound forced and overdramatized yet can sound mind-numbingly mechanical (with the exception of the humorous battle AI ADA) in some parts. Though an obvious flaw in voice acting, it is somewhat tolerable as you play through the game.
To unneccessarily drill this into your mind again: This is a REALLY fun game.
One of those short, yet sweet games.

If you into big robots/Mecha or anime or fast games or just big explosions, this is a must buy. Big improvement over the first.

I enjoyed playing this game althought I did have some difficulties. BUT(a big but) it does have some flaws. It's really short. Also it has a [bad] story and I didn't understand the ending part. But pretty much it's a fun game.
