Its DBZ, but it could be a lot better

The game itself is great. Superior graphics and sound accompany fun game play. Several problems appear though hindering game play. #1 Lack of moves. Throughout the game you acquire only four moves; Ki blast, Solar Flare, Kamehamehe wave, and your punch. #2 Damage System. It would appear that no matter what level you're at, guys can do an obscene amount of damage to you. #3 Really bad AI. The same battle strategy can be employed against every boss. #4 Poor leveling up system. At times the amount of experience required to level up is far too high. The list goes on. Despite these things, and the length of the game, (it is far too short) the game is good. It could be so much better though.

THIS GAME WAS OK, THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT THE MUSIC IS GREAT. BUT IT ONLY HAD A FEW PROBLEMS SUCH AS YOU DONT LEARN THE KAMEHAMEHA FROM KING KAI YOU LEARN THE KAIO KEN AND THE SPIRIT BOMB FROM HIM. SECOND YOUR NOT VERY STRONG IN THIS GAME EVEN WHEN YOU GROW LEVELS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DOSTROY ONE OF FREEZA'S MEN WITH ON HIT WITH THE KAMEHAMEHA. THIS GAME SHOULD ALSO BE LONG ALOT LONGER. ALSO WHEN YOU FIGHT RADIZT'S PICCILO IS SUPPOSED TO HELP YOU BUT HE DOESNT IN THIS GAME. ALSO SON GOKU DOESNT DO EXTRA STUFF ON NAMEK BUT YOU DO IN THE GAME AND HE DOESNT. OVER ALL OUT OF 10 I WOULD GIVE THIS GAME A 8.5.

This game is really cool.You get to play through three different sagas as goku and you learn three different ki attacks.Your job is to help the humans,nameks,and defeat all of the siayns.You can only reach 25 levels and the game is really easy and short,otherwise it's a really great game.

How could they even release this?

This game is probably the worst game for GBA right now (there are some exceptions). The only reason it's popular is because the name contains "Dragonball Z" in it. The graphics are probably the best thing in this game and still don't compare well to other GBA titles. Everything else is just [poorly designed], including the story. You do tons of quests throughout the game. None of them have anything to do with the story. Kind of pointless if you ask me. The controls [made me angry]. You can't even walk diagonally and you run at the -same- speed as enemies. But luckily, their [poorly designed] AI makes them stop sometimes for no reason. Also, this has one of the worst hit detection systems I have ever seen. When you hit an enemy, it'll look like you did, but you didn't.. which is really annoying. To top that off, there are only four moves. Three actually, since the punch is totally useless. Now, the music... You barely even notice it. It just blends in or doesn't even match some scenes. Well.. overall, this game is terribly easy. You could beat it in one day (2-5 hours) and it has no replay value. This game is definitely not worth buying. It's worth renting at most and maybe even that'd waste your money.

Please read before buying!! You will have wanted too!!

Im just going at it head firstthis was not a great game and could, COULD have been made much much better, but wasn't. Graphiclly a good game, but im not into graphics so much as DBZ, and RPGs, and this game just doesn't add up to good roleplaying or a good dragonball z setting. The controls [are bad], just as much as the fighting properties, and flying is about as slow aas actually walking around. One main quarrel i had with this game is that it was not open, but instead very, very straight forward. In other words you can't go trying to find item or anything but theres a path everywhere where you have to stay on, and if you dont you only go off it like five paces. very controled envirnment. The game is also very redundent because you only go to level 25, and after about the first seven minutes your at level 5. Its a very kiddish game to, in that the plot [is bad] and can be very easily figured out. its also very hard!! there are little dogs that kill you in like two hits. Now in the manual it tells you that you have to line up with someone to talk to them, well guess what, its the same with foes! yes when you try to kill something while standing sideways it doesnt do anything, but you have to move under them and then face them to do them damage. PLease for your sake do not buy this game.

I would not suggest this game to anyone.

I would not reccommend this game to anyone except for an extreme fanatic of Dragon Ball Z. At first it's kinda cool, considering that there haven't been many Dragon Ball games. Although I played it with my friend before a movie for half an hour, it proved to be a pathetic game.
It was simply unentertaining. In the begginning you fight wolves and snakes. The problem is when a wolve spots you, he charges at you, and you can't get the freaken wolf away from you. you can't punch, because you'll die first. You can't run because your too slow.
The controls were kind of sloppy. and there was nothing too special about the graphics.

I REALLY LOVE THE GAME EXCEOOT FOR A FEW PARTS.THE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING SO IS THE SOUND AND STORY.BUT ITS KINDA TO SHORT AND TOO FRUSTRATING.BUT OVERALL ITS STILL A GOOD GAME.

This game is....uh..... EASY! Definately for the less advanced gamer.I woudn't recomend it for anyone over nine, but no younger than six.The graphics are ok and it sticks very close to the TV show.If your older than nine and this game seems appealing,rent it first or buy it second hand. I enjoyed it alot and I found more commendable than condemning materal in it.

It took me only 2 days to beat this game. And on top of that the game ends right after goku beats Frizea on Namek. That's it. It's just not worth the cost of the game.

Well this was all right but not much of a rpg.....

Alright I was at TARGET and had to choose between two games
Dragon Ball Z Legacy of Goku or Golden Sun, I unfortunatly picked DBZ Legacy of Goku.
I was very happy when I first got it and I saw the little intro thing,to me I think that was probably the only thing they didn't mess up on. Otherwise if they were any more idiotic they probably would of spelled Goku's name incorrectly,and it was waayy to short,for instance: First your celebrating that you finally beat Vegeta (finally) then all of the sudden your on Namek and you aren't even stronger! They skipped some of the most funniest episodes like when Goku got glued on top of the ship they could of at least shown some scenes from the various episodes. The only reason it took me a weeks to beat it was because I was still not used the Ki system and got killed many many times by Vegeta,Raditz,and especially those Wolves! All and all Legacy of Goku is cute not to adventureres and pretty much just eye candy. It is a good game though but I still think I should of gotten Golden Sun....
