Wahoo a great soccer game again!

The title says it all. This is a great soccer game again. This is easily the best soccer game on the market. It amazes how each year additions can be made to the games that actually would make you want to buy the game again aside from roster changes. Yet THis is one of those games that necessetates getting the game again. Aside from killer graphics (the best you will see in a soccer game), you now have the ability to do three different types of kicks when trying to score a goal. That is incredible!!!!! Bottom Line: Do you like soccer at all? Own this brilliant, fun game.

They keep on getting better

I have played WE 6, WE 7 WE 8 and now PES 2007. Number 6 is so much fun, 4 years later I keep on playing it, even though it doesn't have licensed teams, or some players, but it is as close as the real thing as you can get. Then I played 7 game play was similar, but shooting seem very difficult and was very hard to get a decent shot from outside the box. I barely played #8 which was more of a cosmetic and license wise upgrade of the former 2.
Then this year my bro got Pro Evolution Soccer 2007, but since he lives overseas I had a chance to play it before it was shipped to him. It was a nice surprise the teams were more current than in previous version, but still don't include the updated teams from the winter transactions.
Anyway the game was awesomely upgraded. It's nice scores are more real than in Fifa. The players move like in a real soccer match, while in FIFA the players are like robots. It's so easy to pick up, although scoring is hard still. It doesn't matter how "expert" you are, you won't route your opponent that easily, if you are a good player but don't know much about soccer you will enjoy it, if you're a beginner at video games but like soccer you'll have a good time since the players move as yo would expect in a real soccer match.
When you win in this game you earn it. Not like FIFA if you get into the routines of players and find a sweet spot, you can do the same play over and over and score in 90 percent of the time.
EA did a great job with the World Cup game, but Konami is still the king of football as we call it in the rest of the world. The only thing I wish they can improve is the menu. It's basically the same lacluster presentation as previous versions.
If you're a REAL soccer fan there's no way you can prefer FIFA, even with all the licensing, btw Konami is getting more and more licenses every year. Anyway I only play with Real Madrid, as long as they are licensed that's the only important thing, hopefully they include at least all the nations that have qualified to at least one world cup, even with made up names.

Wilkommen zum Fussball!!!!

My title is a german quote by Pele from a Puma commercial. It is a perfect fit with this game!!! This is the best football ( soccer) game there is! After a year of waiting, I have not been disapointed! Here are the strong points and weak points ( the very few there are) of Konami's Winning Eleven 07!!!!!!
1. Gameplay: Bar none, this game destroys all competitors ( FIFA, its unworthy advosairy) with the most percise gameplay i have seen in a sports video game. I may have a very blown aback impression because i admit i am just coming off of Winning Eleven 8, a great game for its time. In that game, you are forced to think of every gameplan, pass, run and shot on your own to ensure victory, or atleast a draw. NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In this game, your teamates are very intelligent, even modivated. it is like they actually want to score goals. You will see once yyou make a pass, your other players make seperate runs toward the box, all while trying to stay onside. Which they do with realative ease in this game. The refs are even more relaxed. not only do they give advantage more than giving free kick after free kick, they actually shut up and let the game be played and they even give their signals, thats right no more displays. You will have to watch the ref like a real player! This is were the problems start. For people who have followed the winning eleven series, the controls are realatively the same, with a few new tricks and stuff like that. I problem i have been having is shot control. in this gae the slightest touch of the square button almost fills your power meter, you will have to master a "controlled" shot. Make sure you pay a visit to the manual before playing or you will be more upset then France in the world cup!
2. Graphics: What can I say, THE GAME LOOKS GREAT!!!! People look very real and jerseys are now even official! Even liscensed balls like the teamgeist ball that looks like the kings of football's A.C. Milan ball!!
3. Teams: while i am happy with the overall expansion of teams, I am still angered that that, after 2 games, Chealsea, Juventus, the ENTIRE Bundesliega ( german soccer league) and other clubs like new castle, portsmouth, charlton... basically the entire English Prem. League teams exept Man. U and Arsenal.
In short this is the greatest football game money can buy. dont waste your 10 bucks buying it on the 360 buy it her for a very good game on a system we all know and hopefully have. konami has said that this is the last W.E. title for the ps2, but if it outsells the 360 version, we might get another!!! And I know I am not the only one that that sound good to.

If it gameplay you want, this is the best.

1.- PES 2007 is bettet than Fifa in Gameplay
2.- PES does have the official number and letter designs of the licensed team
3.- PES players are not mechanical and slow as the Fifa players.
4.- Fifa has a better career mode, PES is very simple and has less decision making.
5.- Fifa has a bit better graphics, both are good thou.
6.- They both lack more national teams.
7.- Menu interaction easier on PES, unlike FIFA you don't get asked if you wanna save or not in every window.

I like gameplay over everything. So I like this one better.

The Best Soccer Game on PS2, Period

After purchasing Fifa 07 and being dissapointed by it's mechanical players and sluggish game play, I went ahead and rented Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 after reading a series of positive reviews online.

The difference between Fifa 07 and this game is night and day in regards to game play. With this title, I found a fluid gameplay that absolutely blows away Fifa. The most important thing to me in a sports game is gameplay, and this title is just better in that regard in every way. Scoring goals takes a lot more skill and creativity than anything in Fifa 07.

I also really love how international teams can compete in a world cup-like tournament vs. Fifa which holds no option other than exhibitions.

There are two things missing from this game that Fifa has, and thus makes me give it 4 stars vs 5. Those two things are a great soundtrack during menus, and a wide variety of teams. Missing from WE:PES 2007 are MLS, German League, and the authentic names of most English Premiere League teams. Despite this, the gameplay itself is so much stronger than Fifa's that it is a minor flaw in what is the best soccer game ever created.

I recommend renting both Fifa and Winning Eleven to see the difference for yourself before purchasing. There is a reason Fifa is so much cheaper and easier to find, it's just not as good as Winning Eleven.

Almost Perfect

I'm Pro Evolution Soccer regular player since version 1 when menus ware just a simple group of text lines. Before PES the game was know as ISS.... Konami always builded a solid and real soccer simulator, keeping that in mind all the time, the versions released until this PES6 only have the gameplay inside the four lines as the primary target "forgetting" other stuff as Fifa have.

That lack of info outside the green carpet never made me return to Fifa again, after starting the first match in PES we get hooked to the game, usualy it takes 1 to 3 hours to beginners to start feeling and learn the gameplay, after that experience isn't easy to search for other soccer title, PES is the soccer king. Even after years and large hours playing, its dificult to get the same movement or goals repeated. Each player lot of settings, body and mind, all that can change that player evolution in the field and so the team behaviour.

PS3 version 7 to release in October is of course expected to be move the line up with added player animations, updated players/teams and so much more stuff outside the lines.

About all, gameplay, ball physics, graphics, perfect... a game we must have.

I've had this game in my collection ever since its release. It's the only game I play these days. As an avid football fan and player, WEPES 2007 is the most realistic and entertaing football game on the market. I enjoyed playing the early FIFA games as any other guy but while in vacation in Bosnia, I managed to get a copy of one of the earlier versions of the WE series and after 5 minitues of play I could tell how much better it was than FIFA. Konami did an excellent job in the detail of the games to make it as realistic as possible. I really can't get bored of it. I only wish to play it more and when football season is in full bloom, this game is terrific for satisyfing your urges to win championships with your favourite team as you watch them perform live in the real world and club championships.

The only con of the game is that not many teams are licensed, specifially the English Premier League aside from Man U. and Arsenal. Other than the licensing issues which Konami are working and promise to deliver in the next version, this is game is awesome and I will continue to buy the upcoming releases in WE franchise.
Kudos Konami.

EDIT: This game has been selling at a very fast rate. The price on Amazon when it first came out was 40$. Now its hard to find it under 50$-60$. So get it while its in stock.

Cheers.

I used to be a die hard FIFA Fan, from 2001 all the way. I started out the WE series with Winning Eleven 8, I didn't like it at first, but i found it ok overall. Then I moved to WE9 which I found absolutely woeful because of the excessive free kick calls. WE: PES2007 is just perfect. It took some weeks getting used to it, but I believe I've finally mastered the series. I play on Professional Difficulty in this game, and hardly lose. Those who transit from FIFA to WE will have a very tough time at first getting to the controls. Give it a month or 2, keep on playing (on professional difficulty. The only way to master it is to challenge yourself. Also, keep on practicing, go on forums for hints, and just give it time. Eventually, you'll get used to WE, and will be blessing the name of KONAMI for creating such a beautiful footy game, with lucid gameplay and brilliant ball physics. This game, by all means, without question deserves a 5 out of 5.

I didn't barrow or rented the game I BOUGHT it, First thing caught my attention was that beauty in graphics later combined with the style of play *REALLY SWEET*. I wanted to choose the FIFA 07 ($25.) over the Winning Eleven ($40.) due to the peice different, well i can only tell you i was soooooooooooo right to spend the extra $15. bucks and get the W11 , i'm totally impressed by the game, had i been the manufacturer i would put a satisfaction garantee on the game - SIMPLY THE BEST SOCCER GAME AVAILABLE TO DATE.
