Do the people who made tp02 even try to make it better than last years? They did not suceed in any case. It is relatively to hit and pitch, but fielding is just too difficult. My advice: buy High Heat 2003 instead

It is definetely the BEST BASEBALL GAME FOR PS2. High Heat and Allstar are terrible you have got to get this game. I do wish it has franchise mode but otherwise its the best. The graphics are superb. Oh yeah EA makes the best sports games so this one just adds to their trophy case.

On the word of reviews and ratings of people who played the games, I originally went out and bought All Star 2003. I was highly impressed with that game except for one thing; I couldn't hit the ball! Someone explain to me how the Montreal Expos can shut out the Cardinals! I went back to the store and traded up for TP 2002. Despite the crummy reviews from some of the other raters, this is a very solid game, and is very realistic when jacked up to the hardest difficulty. It may be missing the little nigglies of baseball, but all the fun stuff is there.

Being a big fan of baseball I was extremely disappointed in this game, especially after it promised so much. The thing that IS good about this game. THE MUSIC. But that's about it. The gameplay is unrealistic. You have three difficulty levels when playing this game
*Rookie - Way tooooo easy, It's boring. Avg. Score> (Win 35-0)
*Pro - Still kind of easy, still boring. Avg. Score> (Win 12-1)
*All-star - WAY TOO HARD, you can't strike anyone out, no matter how good your pitcher. Avg. Score> (Loss 12-2)
There's just no way to have fun. Unless getting 8 homeruns in one game everytime or, getting none everygame is extremely exciting for you... sure 8 home runs a game.. sounds like fun. but it gets REALLY REALLY BORING.
Also, the commentary is really annoying and way off all the time.
Phrases like "drilled up the middle" (I hit it softly to the second baseman) "This has the distance!" (popped to shallow left)
It's full of false hopes :(
There are some times this game can be fun. I think what would make it the best game ever is some sort of career mode and challenging but not too challenging game play.

The detail that's in the graphics of this game are amazing. Every players pitching style, batting stance and swing is imitated to match the real player. The detail of the stadiums is very impressive also. I've have no complaints about how the game plays. I've had 15-0 games, and 2-1 games in extra innings. Players draw walks and hit home runs at a similar pace to a real season. If you love baseball, you should love playing this game.

this was a good games but not perfect. if i could i would give it a 4 1/2 stars

overall i highly recconend this game
