If it's in the game, then it's somewhere other than Easport

Then was a time when you could look nowhere else for the best sports games. It did not matter how many sports games were made, if it wasn't made by Ea Sports then it was not worth playing. That era is sadly gone. It has passed the same way that many of the old stadiums have. We now reflect on the games of old because the last thing one wants to do is look at what Ea is producing now.
Their games are worse than Michael Jordans attempts to hit a curve. Triple play 2002 has shown again that the creativity, imagination and dedication to the sport they are trying to emulate has faded.
The graphics of this game are just plain bad. It is slow, The players are out of proportion and the overall effect just isn't there. The gameplay is bad and players are unresponsive to commands. Batting is done via that new idea in baseball game. The stupid target/crosshairs box. Someone should just realise that idea is just plain dull.
Realism is not really there much either. At the end of the day it just is not that much fun. A game I did enjoy was high heat. Not a great leader in any area. But the gameplay was strong enough to have fun with. And having fun is what I want from a game. But until we see a baseball game to the standard of NFL2K2 by Segasports then I suggest we save our money and wait till we get something good.
AWFUL

this game is terrible. its way to easy to be realistic. im hitting hrs w/ my leadoff hitters and 9th hitters. you cant put together a REALISTIC game. baseball is a game of strategy and patience, and the score is like 20 to 17. its pathetic

I don't own this game but I have played it in Toys R Us and it really [stinks] with a capital S. If you buy this game you are truly insulting your system.

this game ruls! the graphics rock and the gameplay is a lot better. the statiums look better than ever and so does the grass and dirt. there is also only dirt clouds on the dirt area and not in the outfield too like last year's version. the people look real. even if you like more of a simulation this is for you because you can get homeruns but not as easily. the rosters are up to date except the white sox dont have kenny lofton. i highly recommend this game to any baseball fan.

Great graphics but the game play is a little hard to get used to. The movement of the players is fluid but controlling them within the field is not necessarily so. Rockin' soundtrack, though.
Surprise hit of the season!

I normally don't like Triple Plays series. But I rented this seasons and liked it lot. The control is much better than AlL-STAR BASEBALLs though the graphics are not as good. I like how you use the analaog stick to control where you through to. I also like the Home Run Derby Mode.I do however, wish that this game had a franchise mode. In my opinion, this is better than ALL-STAR and High Heat Baseball, but I'd wait until I play MLB 2003 before I buy this.

I have bought every Triple Play game since '97 and the game has gotten better every year except for 1 aspect; gameplay. From '97 all the way to '02, it has remained the same. Just some simple changes could be made to make this game better. This is just an average game...
Dont waste your cash.

This game is bad. I thought I'd be on it for hours, but I lasted 30 minutes. The game play is dull. The situations aren't realistic. I dont recamend a game where Toby Hall can beat Sammy Sosa in a HR derby. The graphics are horrible. I cant tell the difference between Bonds and Preston Wilson! The stadium graphics are OK even though They're not as good as ASB2003 and WSB2K2. I'd recomened not to wast your $$$ and buy ASB2003 or High Heat Baseball 2003.

Having owned every Triple Play game from '96 to 2001 for the playstation 1, I initially skipped TP 2002 for ALL STAR BASEBALL due to the poor reviews after getting a PS2. While ALL STAR is a really good baseball game, TP '02 still has that "at the ballpark feel" to it that no other game has. The gameplay is not awesome but it is really good. Yes, like other reviewers have stated, the players heads are slightly too big for the bodies while they are batting. But aside from that flaw, the graphics are the best ever seen on a baseball video game. For players looking for a more "true to life" game by maybe getting 4 or 5 hits in 9 innings, get ALL STAR. But for the most fun, TRIPLE PLAY is still the best.
