Expansion plus graphic improvement

Everyone is appropriately writing about the great increases in warriors, lands, etc. Totally agree, but don't also overlook the graphic improvement. While AofE II already had AWESOME graphics, the expansion disk has tweaked this and made it even more beautiful, lifelike. AofE is the BEST game.

The Conquerors expansion is an excellent expansion to Age of Empires 2. It has 5 great new civilizations that catch your interest with new advantages from those of the original 13 civs. It also makes it easier to playby helping minimize micro-management. The villagers work after the collect the drop-off point, they work more efficiently and dont have to be re-assigned the same job as much, and sense danger and then try to escape. The units are also better and there is a bigger selection. The multiple maps are another great thing giving people maps to go along with their civs. If you like strategy and historical civilizations The Conquerors Expansion is a must buy.

What a perfect game! My 7 year old loves it and playing over networked PC's you can play against each other - battling and learning about the Huns, Persians, and Vikings. I don't feel like he's playing a shoot 'em all up game and we get some great family time!! One word of warning. You can get so engrossed in the game that several hours can go by, and you emerge from your PC with totally exhausted eyes. You daren't blink - you might miss a sneak attack! Can't wait for the next installment.

The Conquerors improves Age of Empires II very much!! It has five new civilizations, new units, and it also fixes bugs that were in the game! I highly recommend this! Buy it!

First, I must critique.
Here's a review I read:

I have played Ages of Empire II: The Age of Kings, over and over again. I was getting kind of bored with it so I thought the expansion would be great. What's so new??? Not much that I could see. I'm the non-conquerer type who likes to get the relics or the wonder so I found nothing new. Definately nothing worth paying for the expansion. Maybe if you are a battle kind of player it might be different."
Here's my review:
The guy who wrote that review is an idiot. Who goes and buys a strategy medieval warfare game if they don't like to battle? What kind of "non-conquerer type who likes to get the relics or the wonder" gets any kind of war game? It's like a man giving a bra a bad rating because he's not a woman. Besides, new features include:
-New civilizations (like Central American civilizations and Europeans from the age of exploration)
-New units with new spacial abilities (such as the "kamikazi" Sabotuer man)
-New maps
-Incredibly useful new features such as pre-reseeding your farms
-Being able to tell a villager to build a resource camp and having him automatically begin to gather that resource when he has finished building (as opposed to just standing around idle like an idiot from the other game)
-Being able to change the population limit to 200 in created scenarioes (a very useful feature).
This game runs the same as Age of Kings, but it has all those great new features (by this time, Age of Empires 3 is out, so the features aren't all so new, but they improve so much on the original game).
More of the same...

If you are interested in additional structured missions, like those in the standard verion of AOE 2, then this is a great game for you. I didn't find it incredibly worthwhile to play these additional missions.
