If you already love Age of Empires, you might not think it could be improved. But the Conquerers Expansion Pack really is a big improvement. The new civilizations are interesting to play (Korean, Mayan, Aztec, Spanish, Huns) There are bug fixes and improved features, like farm queuing (replant the farms in advance without the annoying rattle of expired fields.) There are new unique units like Korean War Wagons and Turtle boats, plus new technologies for monks (herbal medicine) and new military units (halberdiers and Hussars.) A tremendous product.

I LOVE THIS GAME!The Aztecs and Mayans are welcome additions as far as I,a native American ,am concerned(just try to beat the Elite Jaguar warriors,only French paladins have half a chance) and the Spanish were definitely necessary,while the Koreans(hint:the Turks and Saracens are perfect counters to the Koreans)and Huns add flavor(especially if you like being the Japanese).Almost all the minor bugs in AoEII are fixed and the new campaigns aren't bad.The individual unit AI is far better than any other game I've played.Multi-player games are terrific!The graphics are beautiful!The Beta patch is one of the few industry patches that is NOT necessary,but it is fun and very easy to download.Once you've played it non-stop for about a year and you are finally starting to become a little bored,you can simply get the scenario builder and then the sky is the limit!I have a LOT of time(I'm a disabled vet) and a fair amount of disposable income,but for those of you that don't -PLEASE- do yourself a favor and try this fantastic game,you will not regret it.If I could never buy another game in my life,I could get by with this one;5 stars just doesn't say enough!

Everyone is appropriately writing about the great increases in warriors, lands, etc. Totally agree, but don't also overlook the graphic improvement. While AofE II already had AWESOME graphics, the expansion disk has tweaked this and made it even more beautiful, lifelike. AofE is the BEST game.

The Conquerors expansion is an excellent expansion to Age of Empires 2. It has 5 great new civilizations that catch your interest with new advantages from those of the original 13 civs. It also makes it easier to playby helping minimize micro-management. The villagers work after the collect the drop-off point, they work more efficiently and dont have to be re-assigned the same job as much, and sense danger and then try to escape. The units are also better and there is a bigger selection. The multiple maps are another great thing giving people maps to go along with their civs. If you like strategy and historical civilizations The Conquerors Expansion is a must buy.

What a perfect game! My 7 year old loves it and playing over networked PC's you can play against each other - battling and learning about the Huns, Persians, and Vikings. I don't feel like he's playing a shoot 'em all up game and we get some great family time!! One word of warning. You can get so engrossed in the game that several hours can go by, and you emerge from your PC with totally exhausted eyes. You daren't blink - you might miss a sneak attack! Can't wait for the next installment.
