I have the capability and this game bites

Man, I bought this game because of all the great reviews and I am terribly disappointed and out [money]. The graphics are great and when the game starts out there is so much potential. Then you discover the dagger in the first room and find out that the fight scenes are going to be very stupid and your movements are not human-like.

You will get killed so very quickly so make sure you take lots of potions around with you. The night-time option sounds good, but you can't see a damned thing.

The quests are also nice and there are many of them, but I think that there are games out there like Dungeon Seige that are better equipped. Dungeon Seige is way more repetitive than this game which is about it's only plus.

I will be selling mine ... so come buy it....I thought it [was bad] but you might enjoy it..........NAH.

RECOMMENDATION: COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY

After speeding home from the store with my new game i just got (morrowind).i could not wait to get it open to play man it looked and sound so cool from the back of the box and some review i look up on the net.But wow they where wrong man this game starts out nice with the way you can pick your guy out and class and traid you what to be but that is it.After that it gos down hill fast to me.1 the fighting is week 2 wen you find a guild and join it it is for nothing but to wast alot of time doing nothing that will mean anything in the game.3 well the bugs dont help out.Well just not what i was looking for it to be after reading the back and trusting some good review sites.BUT the graphics are way cool but i could not tell if i ever got out of the dungeon the game was so dark.

The worst Game of the Year

Not sure why this game got "The best game of the year". This game sucks big time. I bought it and my friend and I tried for a couple of weeks. We agreed that this game is horrible. I sold the game to one of the local shops. If you want to play a great game, try "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance I and II".

Liked Daggerfall better

Now that was a good game. It had decent music, decent graphics for its time, and the characters you chose looked beautiful. This is so so in my opinion, as it is not enough better from what I've seen to warrant an overhaul of your machine (you need a Pentium 3 or more, a dvd-rom, and everything else to work well; Daggerfall ran on WIndows 95/98). I managed to get it to run even without the dvd-rom, but I wasn't really impressed. That all considered, the controls are harder to maneuver (since I didn't have a manual, I had a tough time figuring out how to talk to people), and they scrapped the default design from Daggerfall, so you have to move forward using alphanumerics instead of cursor keys. If you have a manual, and you have the specifications, it might be worth your while. Given the choice, though, I'd rather purchase Daggerfall again. I just found out that even though XP generally forbids Daggerfall, if you are unlucky enough to have XP and not have capacity to run Morrowind, go type in Daggerfall XP patch into the search engine to reconfigure the system. I think the deal is that it's illegal to have both on your computer, so if you have Morrowind capacity (I hate you), you shouldn't install this patch.

Gets a little tedious - not for children

Never have I played such a visually stunning and impressively massive game. It is just enormous. There are so many places to go and people to talk to it's incredible. That said this game lacked a little something. As much as it was fun to complete quests and roam the picturesque landscape it really got repetitive after a while. All the characters stood pretty stationary and in some areas the quest line could be very easily broken if you weren't careful. The beasts weren't very challenging to fight either. Often all it took to kill a beast is a couple of swipes with your blade; this even includes many of the greater beasts. This game is more about storey line than anything and the themes start to recur after a while. The characters lack voice - while people do greet you with an auditory comment that is all they ever say. It is up to you to engage them and click through the mass of topics they have to talk about and memorize what they have to say.

I also wouldn't suggest allowing children to play this game as it has many adult themes. For example: Slaves - which you can free or engage in buying / selling. Stripper clubs - where you can talk with the actively dancing girls. Homosexuals - which will require you to strip your clothing in order to advance a level. Gangs - most which will request you to eliminate other gangs. Theft - which you will get away with as long as your stealthy or strong enough.

In all this is an impressive game simply because of sheer size and beauty. Otherwise it is lacking depth.

Great game

Let me start of by saying the game, for some people, crashes on a regular bases. I have that problem also. Bethesda is making a patch to fix that.
I would give this game 5 stars if it crashed every minute. That is how good it is. The game world is huge. The storyline is great. There are hundreds of quests. Thousands of classes. Great graphics. Ten guilds to join. Comes with a consruction set. Hundreds of mods are already out. Just go buy the game. It is the best rpg in a very long time. If you have crashes the patch will be out in 3 weeks, but the game is still playable

Incredibly Awesome

I have waited a long time for this third installment of the Elder Scrolls, and it was worth it! This RPG is incredibly good. Abstain from playing it if you don't want to be glued to your PC 24/7.

The construction set included with the game is incredibly entertaining and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I was able to add a house to the gameworld to suit my character perfectly. (and believe me I am a very technology challenged person) I think I have spent more time on the construction set than on the game itself. It is so much fun to use and is not limited to modifying architecture. With it the player can create new objects, classes, races, npc's, weapons, armor, the options are almost limitless.

The official site boards are a wonderful source of information on every aspect of the game. On them, the players themselves enthusiastically share their experiences and answer most questions regarding Morrowind. Finally, fan sites are mushrooming all over the web with everything from tutorials on using the construction set, to solutions to the most obscure quests and puzzles. Leave it to the fans to generously share their creativity. All in all, I will be playing this game for a long time to come.

Kudos to Bethesda for another job well done.

I played this game at my cousins and loved it. You can pick your own skills, or, if your lazy, you can just pick out a premade character layout. There are THOUSANDS of different weapons, armor, and spells. The graphics are the best I've seen. The only problem is how your stamina runs out. Come January 1st, I'll have this game for myself!!!!

As good as it gets

Elder Scrolls is not only a great game but and awsome sequal. It has many features such as creating your own character and an exciting storyline. Plus this game will keep you on your feet for a very, very long time. Not to mension the everlasting appeal on multiplayer mode on the internet. Overall this game is a must get and plenty to do that will definately go down in history.

OK game

I've played all three games in the Elder Scrolls series, and I still think the orignial, Arena, was by far the best. In Morrowind, the landscape and culture doesn't vary very much from place to place, and the combat action can get boring. It was fun in '94 with Arena, this is '02. They should make the opponants appear wounded, or let you hack of limbs, something other than just red blood splattering when you hit them.

You can still get a kick out of this game; there is a lot of places to explore and many things to do. It's just not a GREAT game.
