This game is a keeper,it's the only fighting game I would reconmend for the Playstation 2 console. Not only does it have walls the combos are endless! Just cruise the net and look for videos of home console gameplay it it spectacular, awesome need I say mo? No. ...This game is addictive at the arcades ans so it's addictive on the console. This is why PS2 well keep selling! ...The new fighters are off the hook especially CRAIG MARDUK!...

Well...as my title implies, Tekken 4 is merely more of the same game. If you're new to the Tekken series, and cost is not an issue, then I would buy Tekken 4 simply because the graphics are better. But if you're looking for VALUE, Tekken Tag Tournament is a better way to go. If you already have some Tekken games, then don't even bother with this one (unless you ONLY have the first Tekken). But personally, you're much better off abandoning the Tekken series and getting Virtua Fighter 4. Trust me, VF4 is MUCH better (it has an AI that's about 1000000000000 etc. times better than Tekken's; you actually have to change your patterns with that one. Plus the gameplay is a lot better...a lot quicker and more challenging) and let's not forget the price gap between VF4 and Tekken 4. Nothing too special about this game so I would've given it 3 stars, but the fact that only the graphics made a huge improvement docks down from its rating (the only other new goodies are Tekken Force mode which is nearly identical to Final Fight for the SNES sans the graphics and the sidestepping system...the blocked in, walled up stages are really that spiffy...especially cuz VF4 already has em =P)
Slick, sexy, smooth and... fun

Get ready for the next battle as Tekken 4 leaps into action and... I'm a bit short on ideas now but thatdoesntmatter THIS GAME RULES AND KAPUT! Not really but almost. As said, the game is slick (Christie Monteiro), sexy (Christie Monteiro), smooth (Christie Monteiro) and fun (playing as Christie Monteiro)! As the above hints my favourite character of Tekken 4 and Tekken 5 is Christie. Now to the real buisiness. Now don't say "It's just a Tekken 3 with better graphics" just yet, this is nothing like that.
The graphics are (as everyone says) totally awesome. All the characters (espessially -you guessed it- Christie Monteiro) look great and the animation runs really smoothly. The stages all look gorgeus ecxept for maybe Jungle and Building. Those look empty and rushed and are actually bad looking. All the special moves are well realised and just plain flashy.
Now for the sound. The music is great. Even though the stage Jungle looks horrible, the music is far from awful. Also, the music from Beach has lyrics. It goes like this: Barararababababara, oooooooooooooooooooooooooo, wah wah, oooooooooooooooooooo, wah wah, ooooooooooooooooo, wah wah waaaaaahhhhh etc. Also the music from the stage Arena is just great. Loud rock music and the crowd going crazy when you knock your opponets out just feels so great. Also, the voices are mostly good... Marshall Law on the other hand squeals like a stung pig but in his ending, he sounds normal. Whew.
The characters are a good choice but there should be much more. Like only 19 (19!!!) characters in the whole game sounds a little smug compared to Tekken 5's 30! Here is a rundown of my top 5 characters.
#1. Christie Monteiro (Regular, thank god)
I HAD to pick her first. She is like my all time favourite. She controles just like an another favourite, Eddie Gordo, but still rocks. She is like so awfully sexy. How can you resist? I can't.
10/10
#2. Ling Xiaoyu (Regular, great)
My second favourite (In Tekken 4 at least :P) and is awfully cute. Her outfits are thankfully better than in the last two games (Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag, oh my) and even Tekken 5. She also looks sexier than in Tekkens 3, Tag and 5.
9.5/10
#3. Nina Williams (Unlockable, crud)
Many guys see her as a villain but I actually see her as a good guy, silent assassiness (6 s's Tee hee). Her story is disturbing but skip the opening and there are 6 minutes (or so) of joy in the story mode.
7/10
#4. Jin Kazama (Unlockable, WTF?!?)
Jin's back. Yay. But he is unlcokable this time. Boo. He has a boring story but skip the cut-scenes and then he rocks.
7/10
#5. Steve Fox (Regular, I don't care)
he is just about average. Crazy mafia story and no kicks are some of his downfalls, superspeed and awesome punches are a plus.
6/10
Pros.
1. Christie Monteiro... still
2. Plenty of ladies to choose from (I am a boy if you haven't noticed)
3. Smooth foghting system
4. Sidesteps
5. Ling Xiaoyu
6. It's Tekken. What's not to like?
7. Lots of returning members of the Tekken club
8. Jin Kazama having a new fighting style
9. Eddie being playable by pressing triangle at Christie when the game is beaten with Christie (Same story still)
10. Tekken Force. Best played with Christie or Nina (Both sexy gals)
Cons.
1. Heihachi's costume. A dieper that looks like a thong. Eeeeeeewww
2. Nina's story. So disturbing
3. Jin's story. So boring
4. Christie's ending. So girly
5. Christie not getting the attention she deserves
Graphics: 10 Looks good and runs so smoothly. P.S: Christie is SEXY!!!
Sound: 09 Great music and awesome voices. P.S: Christie sounds SEXY!!!
Gameplay: 10 Awesome and almost smoother that Christie's skin P.S: Christie even plays SEXY!!!
Lifespan: 10 Play never or forever... the second one then. P.S: Christie is SEXY!!!
Final Verdict
Awesome. Like a box full of fireworks. Only lasting about forever :D!!!
Better Together
Tekken 4 + Tekken 5
Go get it.
NOW!!!
P.S: Worth buying for Christie alone... which is SEXY!!!
P.P.S: Christie is sexy.
P.P.P.S: Christie is hot.
P.P.P.P.S: CHristie is... you get the idea.
Just buy it.
The End.
Adios.
Bustaz better make way...

Tekken 4 is aight. I mean, it could use more useful characters. Craig is a big ol' house and, although people who use him disagree, is a waste of pixels. Other than the lack of new talent and the tag option the game is one of the freshest. Virtua Fighter 4, yeah, it looks good but that's tripe. Tekken 4 is the game to have...until Mortal Kombat 5 hits and puts Namco to shame. MK FOR LIFE...!
THIS GAME STINKS!

I hate this game! They don't have any of the good charactors from tekken 1, 2, and 3! I was really dissapointed. I can't beleive I actually put this on my wish list! Take my advice and DON'T buy this game. It is a waste of money. I mean, the controls are just a pain. Don't even get me started on the moves. Half the good moves take so many buttons that by the time you can hit all the buttons, your opponet has already slugged you. If you want my opinion, buy Tekken 3. I mean, the moves in Tekken 3 are not as tricky as these. Also the graphics in this one are nothing compared to the other 4(including Tekken Tag Tournoument

Alright let me poot it this way, the tekken series is getting old , really old, and PS2 is also. Come on its been out a year before all the other new generation systems of course it has better reviews. The PS2's only good for GTA Franchise so other than the GTA games PS2 games [are weak]. Tekken will be like all the other ones. You wana fighting game, use youre brain and get Gamecube, Super Smash Brothers Melee, 3 extra controlers, and youre friends.... Just trust me and get Gamecube. IT has so many party games coming out and also allot better games. Like SUper Monckey Ball, Star Fox, MArio Party 4, wario land, Metroid Prime, Zelda(no brainer its gona be good), and more. So just forget about PS2 and Tekken and get gamecube You'll be better of.
this game rocks!!!!!

i love this game! its fun and theres a whole bunch of secret characters to unlock(jins my favorite) and there all easy to unlock! just beat the game on easy mode with some characters. and also introducing tekken forse! whitch that you choose a character and go through in antire level whitch is okay but its sooooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooow and sooooooooooooooooo boing you might like to try it 1 or 2 times but tekken force is not much of an advancement but overall it is a great game and i recomend it for kids 10 an up
