...kazuya and lee are not new characters, they are tekken veterans who deserve more respect from fools who do not understand the
story of tekken.(it did not start whith tekken 3!...).and tekken tag was great but it had no story and featured dead characters
purely for enjoyment in fighting.tekken 4 is almost like a better looking tekken 2,but it would have been rubbish whithout kazuya.i feel that you must play the original trilogy first to earn the right to play this great game!!

Hello i own Tekken 4 and i find it very fun so let me put it in a scale from 1-10 10 being the best score
Graphics-10(Awesome Graphics the character's in the cut-scenes look so realistic)
Sound-10(Great music when your fighting and the punches and slam's sound so real)
Replay Value-10(it's a fighting game it never get's boring it's really fun when you invite your friends to play)
Fun Value-10(It will keep you entertained for a while)
Final Score-10(New features in the game like tekken force(which is when you fight soldier after soldier)story mode, etc makes this game a keeper it doesn't have tekken tag but it doesn't matter because the other options make it a great game.
For Parents it's rated T for teen(13+) but my 5 year old sister fight's me. No curses or blood just punching kicking and wrestling moves. So if you want a fun game get this one.
Fun but now if you have played Tekken 3

If you have Played Tekken 3 before then you deifnetly will be very dissappointed with Tekken 4 because The only major diffrence from Tekken 3 to Tekken 4 is the Graphics and 3 or 4 more characters. There is not game play improvement but I think the game play has even gone worst. Like it is very dufficult to jump and etc. Also The game Play in Tekken Force mode is also totally not improved you character cant freely move and he/she is locked on to one person.
I guess the only thing that was nice was the intro and Grpahics. So If you have played Tekken 3 and got bored of it them you should definatly not buy Tekken 4 because it is almost the same thing.

Tekken 4 is fun and all,but there is some flaws, like why do they all speak japanese!!(Well, most of them do!)and it's kind of a "DARK" Tekken game like Tekken 1,and 2.(When i refer to "DARK" i mean that the arenas are dark and it has a kind dark/boring story.)so you should brobably rent it before you buy it.I mean buy Tekken Tag instead,it's not a "DARK" game because it has nice normal arena's and there is NO story which makes it kind of fun,and the music is nice and calm unlike other Tekken games. But if you're a hardcore kick butt fighter and loves evil stuff, then you should buy this game.
until next time,

I have loved the Tekken series for years. This is by far the worst there is. The controls are terrible along with the moves. Disapointing. I almost wish I never bought it.
worth the wait

Tekken 4 is the best tekken ever. The graphics are gorgeous, I mean gorgeous. Tekken is now a true 3-dimensional fighting game. Position really counts this time around and there are uneven fighting surfaces which really do come into play. There are new options (you can save replays) and modes (like story mode). The additions of walls are great and play an important role in the match (get pinned against one and say K.O). Everything about this game is top notch. My only gripe, and I'm sure that veteran tekken players will agree, is that the "enhanced" sidestepping is a little too enhanced. I mean I was repeatedly getting swept b/c I when I pressed "down" to block I did a side step causing me to get swept. Blocking low is much harder now b/c you usually end up side stepping instead. So don't pick up the dualshock expecting to feel right at home b/c it will take time to adjust to just that aspect alone. Nevertheless Tekken 4 is quite possibly the best fighting game ever and that's saying alot.

Tekken 4 really didn't look good at first but man was i wrong! I rented it and it came out to be worth every cent! It's a PS 2 must have if you like fighting games. It is rated T for teen which is 13 and over but as long as parents have no problem with a kick and punch here and there then 13 and under may have this game also. Kids could have T because there aren't that bad but when it is M or AO look on back and it will tell you why it is like Grand Theft Auto = M ( mature ) Big No No for at least 11 and younger! That's the review! Hoped it helped!
man, was I proven wrong

I'll admit I was one of those people who didn't think too much of the Tekken series. I at first thought it was kind of boring and just not that interesting. But one day I looked at what was on the demo disk with my Soul Calibur 2. I noticed Tekken 4 was on it and I figured "ah what the hell?". Then I came to reliaze that I was proven wrong about the series the whole time. This game is one of the best fighting games out there. Great fighters, good storyline, unique characters, and loads of gameplay fun. One of the things I do like is in Story Mode, when you complete the tournament, the characters' epiloge has a movie to follow it, not just text. One other thing that caught my eye is that, if you play Soul Calibur 2 first, and you're been Yoshimitsu, and then you play him in Tekken, he's totally different, move wise, like he still has the sword and everything but he just looks totally different. The Tekken Force mode is pretty cool too. So before I keep going about how great this game is, and it is, I'm getting tired of typing. So overall, great game and I definitely recommend giving it a try. You can either rent it, or if you have Soul Calibur 2 try the demo. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.
Better than what you'd give credit for.

Namco put out Tekken 4...and I buy it three days after; oh my freakin' dude, I like this game. After four weeks, it's the only thing on my mind. After 9 months, my thumbs basically ache from constant gameplay-- this (besides Tekken Tag) has got to be the greatest fighting game on the market (with respect to DOA 3 and VF4). After some time of dwadling (is that a word?) over it, I see the games flaws (some reasons I rate it 4 stars):
1. Heihachi in a diaper
3. Jumpy ground (Airport)
2. Annoying Score (except for the unlockable level "Statue")
4. Irregular head switching from front to back (it's disturbingly funny to watch [especially on replay])
5. Pandas' storyline! (I KNOW it's a Panda, but damn people)
That's about (h)it as far as I could tell. So let's get to the sweet part of this skull-buster. Yes it has good GRAPHICS for the PS2. Hey, I'm a fan of the Xbox too people, and DOA has the best graphics on any damn system...period. But you can have a bad game with excellent graphics, so let's get past that and get to the fightin':
1. Highly addictive fighting engine (regardless if it IS a "button masher")
2. Comprehensive variety of fighting styles to choose from (adding to the engine...see?)
3. Great selection of arcades to wreak your iron fist of wrath upon.
4. Kazuyas' Ray-bans.
5. Interactive stages to add to your violent conflict (go ahead...throw him into that nice looking statue).
6. The Story Line; best in the league when it comes to plotting.
7. Perhaps the ultimate experience to feel that thrill of victory after defeating your foe (whether CPU or Friend).
Not to mention the ending movies you receive in Story Mode; we ain't got text to tell you the deal, we'll show you nice ladies and gentlemen. They've got a variety of situations; comedic, serious, to just downright dramatic (Kazuyas' movie is LONG). Did I mention the new characters? Personally speaking I play with Eddie more than I do Christie, Marduk is fun but he get's a tad bit annoying with those stupid GRUNTS! Namco, do me and the rest of the crowd a favor, and not make him sound like Shaq with a mucus problem? If you've already played with Fox, you should know he's the ultimate beat-down man (besides Hova [aka Hwoarang]). It doesn't take one long to get USED to the controls and moves of any character, so anyone can just pick it up and start kicking ass. If it's your first time to fight Heihachi (who is the normal boss, but story mode can change that)? He's a [punk] and will continue to be one, until you learn all his tricks (or really know your fighters' moves). But if you REALLY want to up your anty, spend a ridiculous amount of time practicing and fighting the CPU. Remember, it's easy to pick up the controls and play, but just because this is a "button masher", doesn't necessarily mean you'll master a fighter in two days. The empowering joy you get when mastering a fighter however, and battling on the highest level of difficulty (or you're boastful friend down the street) then defeating them ALL like they were merely IMPS on a crutch...is enough to make your brain sap jump for joy. Virtua Fighter 4 is an awesome game (not VF4: E), and DOA 3 are great (except for all that hype around the women...)! But if you just don't feel like remembering that difficult button combination, and simply just want to KICK some natural ass? Get this game. Basically folks, you won't be disappointed in purchasing this game, and I don't suggest renting it; because as much money you'll spend on renting it, you'll wish you bought it in the first place.
