I have been playing Star Wars Galaxies for two years and watched that beautiful thing fall like a angel, my friend kept telling me to try this game. I was bored one day and decided to download the trial...holy cow. There is just something about this game...the world is massive, there is so much to do. Yeah some of the starter quests are the same but they pace them and place them in a way that it doesn't get boring or take the fun out.

After about a day or so I found myself hooked on the game, it can be VERY easy to get to hooked on it so I have to be careful and limit my gaming time. What I love about it is you can hop in, do a quick quest to get your fix and hop out...I love it. This is the way MMORPG's should be.

Excellent game. The one vice I have with it is the younger (18 and younger) people playing it. But other than that, excellent game with excellent graphics.

simply addicting

As long time RPG gamers - both computer and old-pencil-and-paper, we came into WoW through a friend who suggested we try it after the NWN2 fiasco.

We love Role Play, we love action, we love all aspects.

WoW delivers! The graphics are decent and unique. Great for immersion. Why you ask - because they aren't top of the line cutting edge! The game runs decently on every computer we've tried it on down to laptops with 4mb video ram (ok their frame rate sinks but still decent game play!)

Role play - if you're on a decent RP server, is awesome! We're having a ball.

Characters - each race/class has decent lore and the world lore is engaging (if sometimes conflicting). We like the fact that the "bad guys" aka Horde aren't so much "bad". Everything is perspective. Very adult concepts, which make for a very fun framework.

Servers - be a bit careful about which servers you play on. You'll need to choose based on PvP (player vs. player) or PvE (player vs. environment) or RP (role play). We much prefer RP, and when we want to beat on other players there's always the battlegrounds and/or world pvp (groups of players attacking cities and such). But figure the environment that you will enjoy the most and don't be afraid to abandon one realm/server for another style to try it out.

Well worth the entertainment expense for us!

Addictive game

This game can hold your interest for a long time. There are many aspects to it and you can play it anyway you like. There are provisions in the game for those who only play occasionally, yet there seem to be people playing that do nothing else.

Worth it by far

I've been playing World of Warcraft now since closed beta. I've got a chance to see the world evolve to some extent and I can tell you that I love this game as do most who pick it up. The one con people always seem to bring up is the paying 15$ a month to play but having been a player of many previous MMO games it doesn't shock me. I can easily justify spendng 15$ per month on something that keeps my interest. Going to the movie theater alone once or maybe twice in a month would cost you that and thats far less entertainment for your money.
The game plays beautifully even on slightly aging computers. You don't need the latest and greatest to enjoy this game but it certainly helps. The graphics may look a little more cartoonish but the characters are so well animated and the world is so fleshed out that you really feel like you are a part of it. I tried out EQ2 on a friends account briefly and just didn't get that feeling with it. The combat in WoW doesn't feel monotonous, trade skills are simple but useful, music is orchestrated and top notch... not much else to say. The game is very balanced for PVP... more so than any other MMO before it.

If you are trying to decide between EQ2 and WoW and you are a previous EQ player as I am, then you owe it to yourself to atleast check this game out on a friends account or something before you take the plunge to EQ2. Both are excelent games for sure but in my mind, WoW has come out on top.

Simple Amazing & Incredibly Addicting

Simply a fantastic game! I've never before played an online rpg, although I have played many off-line rpg's, and this game is by far the most entertaining and fun. Whether its playing quests with your friends, venturing into unknown lands, or simply customizing your character, this game will always keep your interest. For all those who enjoy playing rpg's, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

I'm in WOW bata :)

I don't know about the min requermint, but I can tell you my pc's config, I have a P4 2.4, 512RAM, Geforce 5200 128MB
the installer is about 2.4GB, it took me half an hour to install, so it's big. I think I might need a better video card, coz in 1024x768 I only can use the lower setting.
I'm night elf hunter, LVL 10, now I can tamp beast now :D
the game is great, you have to see for yourself.

all I can say is WOW about WoW!

OK, i have played alot of MMORPGs, starting with UO and ending with SWG, and can honestly say this is remarkable. I am still keeping my SWG account because JTL has kept it alive (barely) but I am going to be spending most of my time on WoW. Graphics are remarkabe, it runs smoother than SWG, and there is alot more content. Yes, there is some nasty lag in open beta, but that can be expected, its a BETA and its a stress test. thats what you get when there are 500,000 people trying to play the game before its released

Beta shows Blizzard at top of their game.

After playing the open public Beta of World of Warcraft for several days now, I can attest to the fact that this is a deep, engrossing, beautiful and fun MMORPG. The characters and landscapes are brilliantly colorful, the animation is very sophisticated, the game-play is streamlined and fun, and the tradeskills are super cool. Anyone who likes Blizzard's games (Warcraft, Diablo, etc) will love WoW. It's easy to pick up, but manages to keep you entertained by introducing new things as you go. This is a tremendous game. I started the beta with no intention of buying the game, and now I'm sold.
