It doesn't get any bette then WoW. What Seinfeld was to sitcoms, what Star Wars was to sci-fi movies... Warcraft is to video games.
Ok, there's bad parts: you pay per month so this game will end up costing you a LOT of money. The game is designed to be addictive (just like cigarettes were)... it can be hard to stop playing. Ok, some people feel that way about games in general, but this game goes beyond that. I've heard people say with a straight face, "I don't think I'll ever stop playing WoW." And I'm talking about grown adults with kids and jobs and real lives.
This game is so far beyond any other online multiplayer RPG game it's not worth comparing them. And if the idea of playing with thousands of other people that know way more about the game and have been playing it much longer scares you, don't worry. The experts have no interest in picking on "noobs" and they are prevented from getting in your way or harming you by clever well done in game limits and controls.
That's not to say that people can't grab something just as you are about to pick it up, etc. But that's part of what makes it feel like a true virtual world. The virtual world aspect is empowered by a huge selection of fast easy ways to "express" yourself to others in the game in addition to voice and IM communication. This game takes the community aspect of 20th century online services like AOL and put them into a beautiful, fun, and incredibly huge 3D virtual world. The game has built in mail, auctions (like ebay), IMs, and chats, plus plenty of public meeting places in the big cities. You can walk, ride horses, travel on boats, fly bird-back, ride trams, fly in helicopters, swim under the oceans, climb the tallest mountains, you name it.
It will take you weeks to even start to understand how "grand" things are in this game. As you explore you will discover more and more aspects of the game that add to it's realism. The game does a very good job of introducing them to you slowly so as not to overwhelm you while you're getting up to speed with the way things work.
If you were curious enough to read this review, just buy it. You will not be disappointed. I've never heard anyone say, "I tried WoW but I didn't care for it."
Well worth it....

I have played almost every MMORPG that has come out and I have to say that this is of the highest quality. I am not saying it is my favorite game because I enjoyed Asheron's Call over 10 years ago far more. However, for players on large this is the most user friendly, understandable, and entertaining game to date. There is almost no learning curve at all and plenty of people to play with in the game. There is no wonder why WOW is the biggest mmorpg ever. Oh and its fun too lol!
Uhh......waste of money??

Okay, first off this game totally sucks. I'm a long time fan of RPGs. I've beaten the complete Final Fantasy Series, EverQuest is great, some of the other Warcraft games were good, Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, ectera. But this game let me done completely. I expected a h3ll of alot more from Blizzard. Even Diablo and Diablo II were better than this. If you're a hardcore Warcraft gamer/fan, then you will probably love this, if you're just an RPG fan.......buy something useful, like EQ2 or something. If this review hasn't convinced you, then please, do buy the game...........from me. I paid $49.99 for it, I'll sell cheaper, check out the Used & New selling and look for me.

Definitely a great game. Recommend everybody should at least try it out. 7 million subscribers are not wrong. Don't listen to the naysayers from other games, they just wish their game was actually popular. Popularity does denote quality, this game is high quality!
quite lengthy!

Everyone likes to compare this game to EverQuest, and with good reason. The amount of time it will take to completely finish this game is incredible. You will NOT get bored with this game any time soon.
The difficulty in this game is pretty hard, but not quite as tough as EverQuest. I don't know why, really.
All the quests and features that are included in this game are guaranteed to satisfy you for a very long time. I really recommend this game to everyone. You will NOT grow bored with World of Warcraft.
get it

If you like mmorpg's then this is the best out there by a long way. Updated regularly and plenty of help. Takes about an hour to really get into it and is constantly challenging but no good game is easy. Prepare to lose you life and have fun while doing it.

I avoided purchasing and playing this game for a long time, mainly because I did not like the idea of paying a subscription fee per month to play. But eventually, my nephew convinced me to try a free 10 day trial, and that was it: I was hooked! This game truly is a blast to play, and I can see why millions are subscribing monthly to play. Blizzard has successfuly created an alternative reality, where magic, dwarves, elves and other bizarre creatures roam a starnge and beautiful world. And the world is vast, and continues to evolve. It is fun to do the quests, fight the battles, find new items, and discover new places, but it is the interaction between other "live" players that makes the game truly fun. I suppose in a way, it is much like "the Sims", only in a much more fantastic and fairytale-like environment. If you like this kind D&D type game, then WOW is the ultimate way to enjoy it. Yeah it still sucks that a monthly fee has to be payed to continue to play, but (and I hate to say it) it seems worth it! As long as the game continues to be fun and keep me coming back, I'll pay (though I wish it was just a little cheaper: like under $10 a month). I play an average of about 10 to 20 hours a week, so at 15 hours a week (or 60 hours a month) that breaks down to about $.25 an hour, which is pretty cheap entertainment. Eventually, though, it'll probably be the ongoing monthly cost that makes me stop playing. So the bad things about the game: it is highly addictive and requires a monthly fee to keep playing. The good things about the game: there is real interaction in a simulated fantastic world, with real people, and, of course, it's a lot of fun!
Expansive world with lots to discover but be prepared to devote hard earned time and money

The fact that World of Warcraft has 2 continents and several zones on each makes playing WoW an enjoyable but addictive and time consuming experience. Any rewards worth mentioning only materialize after hours of game time. With WoW the more time devoted translates into a higher level for your character through constant exploration of the picturesque terrain and monster killing. Not to mention high lvl dungeon instances which can only be accomplished by joining others and forming groups or raids. Overall the game would be a lot more fun if the monthly subscription price tag of $15 were reduced a bit.

World of Warcraft is a good game. Online interaction with other players gives more fun than regular games. Easily addicted. I played almost everyday since I started a year ago. 1 hour - 10 hours a day. Language used is OK for kids.
