Not as good as I was hoping for it to be

This game is fun, but not NEARLY as fun as the PS2, X-BOX, or the GAMECUBE versions. In those versions, judging by the previews, you can do anything you like. You can climb to the tops of buildings and you can go anywhere. But with the PC version, it's the exact opisate. When you try to climb a really tall building, it stops you after you get to a certian point. You can't go anywhere. You're always in small sections of the city each scene. Sometimes when you look at something, you can see right through it!!! Bottom line is, don't waste your money on this game. Don't be fooled like I was!!!

For kids, not gamers

I've read the other reviews and they are probably all true if you are a gearhead gamer. But, my 7 and 4 year-old love this game and we take turns playing it as a family. Even the free play is fun for them, and it is kinda cool just to zip around town slinging webs to ride.

Good reviews, false

Good Things: Lots of villains, fast wall climbing
Bad Things: Only swing on web targets, you can't climb to the top of most buildings, the game won't let you go everywhere, no statue of liberty, short game, no Vulture or Shocker(Unlike the PSP game), the fighting and web and zipping are all in one button, and each villain has the same kind of thugs(unlike the first game). This game is only worth the money if your an huge Spidey fan. The first game was sort of boring, but this one is worse. Please don't buy it (unless your a Spidey fan). I can't wait untill I get the PSP game because there will be more villains, more tricks that Spidey will do, more places to go (Including the Statue of Liberty), and you'll get help from Black Cat. If you don't have a PSP and you want this game, your outta luck. Because this game is not anywhere close to how good the PSP game will be. I only gave it a three star because I'm Spidey's biggest fan, and even now I only give three stars.

Beware

No, I haven't actually played this (if you didn't check the date), but if your looking for the cool free-roaming (GTA like) movie tie-in DO NOT BUY THIS. This is a completly diffrent child oriented, very boring to anyone over the age of 7, type game. If you want the cool one, you need to play it on a console, as for Adult/Teen PC owners they got gipped.

the worst game i ever played

this game is horrible don't buy it unless you will die if you don't buy it . i got it tuesday played it for 4 hours and 2 hours the next and beat it!!! there is no challenge at all! the graphics are very bad and seems like 1999 graphics engine. you can't go anywhere you want there are loading screens to go into knew maps. the worst thing is that activision made this, ACTIVISON!!! the same people that made Call of Duty and they couldn't do any better with this half-a*s game. the game is short. some parts are alomost remakes of the nintendo 64 game that came out a couple years ago. the console verison could be better but i'm not forking over $30 or $50 dollars and taking a risk that it may not be good. Don't buy this game.

Absolute bull plop.

I have to start this review by stating that this game is probably the the worst Spider-man game EVER. That's right. Even worse than Spider-man/X-Men: Arcade's Revenge. Those who have played it can join with me in pain. Why would ANYONE make the PC version worse than the console version when it is capable of so much more???

Simplistic graphics are one of the reasons this game is horrific. The cutscenes are worse than the real game! And look at Peter Parker's hands! They are square!!! This game has the worst graphics ever realeased this decade.

Next comes the gameplay. Wow. Instead of the promised ability to swing all over the city, you are confined to maze-like streets all leading you to the next objective. To make matters worse, you can only stick webs to markers that are too rare to make it a fun form of transportation. Also, they have seemed to eliminate any form of combo-moves, making you duke it our with the same punch every single time you fight. In fact, they have completely taken out any offensive form of webbing. As far as I can see, you can only pull their weapons from them, tie them up by their heads or bodies, and... that's about it. It even a chore to fight! Once you beat the guy/s in front of you, you have to turn around to fight the ones behind you! Why couldn't they use an inventive fighting sytem, such as that of Beyond Good and Evil, or Bruce Lee's game.

The one good thing about this game is that Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead rocks!) is the tutorial guy (I don't believe there is a title for the tutorial guy...).

This game's cheap price tag is for a reason. Forget this and go buy Spider-man:The Movie game for, like, $10.

Sucks.

This game really sucks, I am huge Spidey fan and now I may not hear like one but if you want to buy this game think again.

This game is E it is supposed to be for everyone but I think that it is for 3 years old kids, I am 13 years old, and I think it is really easy and you can't use your gamepad the game is really short and you may not like to spend your money in stupid games.

Shame yourself Activision!!

I'm a big Spidey-fan too and i'm 27 old....and i recommend any customer to DO NOT BUY this miserable cheap software, because it's a trash...meanwhile the console-society happily with the TRUE game,'cause it's like a Spidey-GTA...we have this and there is no hope from Activision to fix that HUGE mistake!!!

P.S.:i'm sorry, there is no ZERO stars:))

i cant believe how much this game sucks. It literally defines the word. I cannot do any special moves and the whole storymode was beat within only 45 minutes of game play. Also its basically set and confined in easy mode because they even tell you how to kill the bosses. I would get a refund for this game but i cannot since ive already opened it. Activision all i have to say to you is "U GUYS ARE HUGE ASSES" for making all the console spiderman 2 games intresting and the pc version GAY. I seriously cannot believe i wasted my money on this retarted game instead of buying condition zero.

This "game" (I use this word lightly) . . . .

This game definately does not live up to its grand hype.
Heck! This game doesn't even live up to what it takes to be a game. There are many things horribly wrong with this "thing."
First, the single players is: easy, repetitive, last a whooping one and one-half hours, and has some very sketchy graphics.
Secondly, something is terribly wrong when the console releases are accually pretty good and this one, well, isn't (that should almost be false avertisement). Finally, after you beat it and you think that you can "free roam" New York, News Flash.... YOU CAN'T. After you go so far on the lame-butt swinging system you recieve this wonderful message: "you have no need to go here." In conclusion, i suggest no one go out and spend their hard-erned money on this, unless they are little kids, or well, crazy about spider-man and don't own a console.

As for Activision, stick to consoles unless you are making a new WolfenStein.
