My son loves this game. I can hear him playing it from the other room and it's cool how the game will tell him which way to go by stating comments such as "over here". Great game.

The clone and galatic civil war rules!

I am a star wars fan and this game is cool. The clone wars and the galatic civil war are awsome. Play as the clone troopers, battle droids, rebels or imperials in the hot deserts in tattoine, or the cold landscape of Rhen Var or Hoth.I am definetly going to give this game a second go.Battlefront 2 is great but finish this game first before moving on.

A must have for Star Wars fans

A very good star wars game. Graphics are above average and the gameplay is fun, although can get a little tiresome, as there isn't really a story mode of play to progress through.

Within the game, there are four factions to play as: the Empire, the Rebellion, the Republic and the CIS.

Within these factions there are multiple soldier classes like infantry, snipers, pilots, etc.- all with their different uses on the battlefield.
For example, whilst playing the Kashyyyk Docks map, snipers are valuable as there are high observation platforms to snipe the droids advancing up the beaches.

Most of the maps, Kashyyyk Docks included, are imaginatively created and fun to play. An example is the Tatooine Dunes map, boosting a dangerous Sarlacc pit and Sand People to battle against.

Also available on the battlefield are several vehicles which you can control. From the devastating AT-AT walkers to the speedy Jedi starfighter, there are vehicles on most maps.

Overall, a very good game in reasonably small doses as it can become tiresome.

Awsome!!!!!!!

this is my first star wars game and i love it! For you people that could careless about star wars but are a big gamer(like me) then you will love this game.i suck at shooter games but for this i could make an exeption. the graphics are really good, when fighting it takes a while to get used to the controls, theres four sides to choose from rebel, emire, republic(clone troops), and cis(droids). on each mission thers 200 troops vs. 200 troops and your ally troops and enemies are so smart its almost like playing with other humans, you can give the other troops around you orders you can tell them to follow you and back you up,to move out,to hold there positions, and to hold there fire.and your enemy sets up there attack very nicely so if you take one more step out of your hiding place youll be blasted to a million pieces.

Great game as long as you practice

Let's face it we really have never hade a good star wars video game in a long time, okay maybe a few but not that many. And now we have star wars game which plays like a game battlefield 1942. First you pick a world to fight in, let's say I pick hoth. then you chose your spawn point which are only at your command posts A.K.A bases. After that you chose your side or was that before you pick your planet, AHHH there are so many things to do I sometimes get confused. Then I pick the empire as my side. Next I go to a screen that alows me to chose what soldier I get t play as. You have, the shock troper who has a deadly missile launcher, the dark troper, he has a blaster cannon which is very deadly at close range, the piolit which slowly repairs veicals as you ride in them, the sniper which has a, well sniper rifle along with a recon droid which can do deadly areial attacks and the normal soldier with a normal rifle. Then you are placed on the battlefield, scince this is hoth my secondary objective is to destroy the shield generator, so i'll hop in a AT-AT you know those huge walkers from the Empire Strikes Back and star to bombard the generator with the laser cannons and boom! But your primary objective is to either take all of the bases or simply shoot everyone and try to bring the enemy units to zero. Now for the graphics they are pretty above adverage exspecally the veichals. The sound is great, the laser sounds are right from the movie and the music is fantastic (no need to explain why). When I did my first battle I got killed like every 20 seconds because of the sensitave aiming system, (or maybe it's because I got used to the horriable aiming system of Driver 3). But as long as you practice you should be okay. This is a fantastic game peried. My favorite levals are kamino and hoth.

This is a gamer for true Star Wars fans and gamers.

How long has it been since a REAL Star Wars game has been released? Not until "Battlefront" have gamers been able to fight in ground battles that are intense and give gamers the chance to shoot ewoks. Don't get me wrong, though. I love ewoks because they remind me of teddy bears with half a brain.
This game is a vast improvement over the Gamecube game Rebel Strike". Sure you get to shoot stormtroopers, sand people,... whatever makes you happy. My point is, the action is more fast-paced, and can be played online with many other people.
The big thing is both sides start out with nearly equal-size regiments and the players must dominate the playing field by capturing outposts on the battlefield.
The best part, in my opinion, is you can choose the era of the Star Wars Universe in which you wish to do battle. Pick the Clone Wars to play as a clone trooper or battle droid. Pick Galactic Campaign to play as a Rebel or Imperial Stormtrooper.
When successful, players receive bonuses such as a Jedi hero to join them in battle or technological advances to keep the enemy from winning more quickly.
This is THE game for true Star Wars fans and gamers. We've waited over 20 years for games like this and this is one for the books.

Cool Game.....could be better (more realistic)

I think this game is great. The graphics are the best ive ever seen and the music is also wonderful. There were some things they couldve done better though. Like for instance the A.I. was a disaster they dont listen to me at all and they are extremely stupid (i saw one throw a grenade on his foot and kill himself). Also it was WAY to easy i beat it in a few DAYS it took me over a year to beat metal gear solid 2 (im not a HUGE gamer). Also i think that when you select your character you should be able to change his uniform (like the camo ect.)Another thing when you get shot there should be a black mark in that spot. Also when you crawl through dirt your character should get dirty (especially the stormtroopers because they are wearing white). Something that would be REALLY cool is if you could create a character and choose what creature he is what weapons he has what his uniform looks like. And this game should have had more cheats like for example a cool one would allow you to play as the wookies, tuskans, jawas, ewoks,or the best gungans. Overall this is the best star wars game i have ever played.

pretty good game

i like star wars alot, and this game is a really good one because you can be a regular soldier, not just a secret agent or a spy, you can be a minelayer or a piolit. i like the jetpacks and the crab things and the bazooka guys. i also like to blast people's butts with the big at-ap or whatever thing and snipe people on the snow planet. the ships are cool, and i just wish that the guys that made it didn't make the fighters move automtically. other than that, it's a really fun game.

Playing this game made me want to watch the films, rather than continue with the game. I don't have internet access at home, hence no ability to play the multiplayer section, so that may explain why I didn't cotton to it. From the single player perceptive, this game would have been great fun if it played more like Call of Duty. Battlefront doesn't have characters with any depth at all. You don't feel like you're part of anything. Battles last only a few minutes -- sometimes, as I ran to the front the battle ended before I even fired a shot. Fix these items in future games, and it may be captivating. On the good side, it has the Star Wars feel, and you can play both the rebel and imperial sides. Lots of weapons, vehicles, etc. I'm new at playing this kind of game and had a hard time making certain features work properly. If you're interested in this game, I suggest buying it used.
