The Best Star Wars Game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 1

I love this game. It is the first really good Star Wars shooter. I've been waiting for this game for years, and now it's finally here. The replayability value is good as long as you have an internet hookup or friends to play with. There's really no other game like it. I mean, what can compete with blowing up an Ewok or a Stormtrooper to the sound of John Williams? I've played this game for hours on end and it was worth every penny.

Perfect Game

In a Galaxy far, far away...the battle between the light and the dark side continues.

Star Wars: Battlefront brings the adventure together in a spectacular first person shooter, choose your planet and let the battle begin.

Star Wars Battlefront lets you choose between the Empire, Rebellion, Trade Federation or the Clone Army. If you're a Halo fan this game could be for you, like any first person shooter you can only have so much fun playing against the A.I., and this is definitely a multiplayer game. You can fight up to sixteen players in massive online battles. Battlefront is available on the PC, XBOX and the PS2.

On a rating scale of 1-5, I'll give this game a 4. And may the force be with you!

The game itself is big and fun but needs more worlds and places. Its vehicles seem all equal. A TIE fighter takes the same number hits as a Y-wing does. Pretty crappy seeing how durable the Y-wing is and how weak a TIE fighter is. The units are fun and all irght but kind of inaccurate along with the real Star Wars. Example can be the Rebel Vangaurds, they are actually the regular troopers not some artillery gunners. THe Rebel soldiers are the commandos (as seen in Return of the Jedi!) The Imperial Shock Troopers are also called Sandtroopers, as seen in Star Wars A new Hope. Those are slight inaccuracies. The fighting is not too tense. It is too easy. Your teammates sledom listen to you for long and the enemy just sit there until you come along. They scatter everywhere and fight in random places. SOmetimes, they run right into you line fo fire. Pretty crappy AI. There are only sixteen regular battlefields. I did like blasting gungans and Royal Naboo security troopers. I did like the actual combat and all the vehicles and guns. I really do like massive battles (about 32 on 32). It really is ok and should not really be spoekn badly of.

My Favorate Game EVER!!!!!!!!!!

This is the bast game I've ever played and my favorate game ever anytime I rent this game I get yelled at to get off it to either do my chores, eat dinner or go to bed amd I always get in trouble when I say "wait just a second" and your going to find yourself saying that and other things like "let me finish this level","Give me one more minute" and the always populer "I'm almost done just give me fifteen more minutes"and many more,I'm telling you when I rented this game the first time I wasn't a Star Wars fan but afterwords I was begging my parents to rent it and the movies and any other star wars games I could find. And you will too when you get hooked on it like I am and you'll be looking at everything with "Star Wars" on the label. It's the funnest game I've ever played and when you rent it the first time you just have to play Historical campaign on easy so you get a diverse start you just don't stay with one faction and you learn the ropes with everybody not just the rebels or the empire or the republic or the sepratists.I personaly like the Republic because you can attack from the land and the sky I also favor their vehicles over everybody elses too.But I also like the Rebels too especialy their attack speeder. My favorate trooper is the jet I just wish it came with more ammo.I also like the wookie smuggler.if anybody's better than me at killing tusken raiders on this game(and still win the battle)post a reveiw and put the number on it,my very best score(and still win the battle )is 135.if you think you can beat that one try a little bit harder challenge try around 70 without a vehicle(that ones not tuskin raiders)on medium difficulty.I'll also give you a couple little hints #1STAY AWAY FROM YOUR OPPONENTS JEDI!!!!#2(Warning this is for advanced players only if your a rookie and you try this you will be killed for sure not to be mean I tried to find a way to do this when I was new at this game and I got cut to shreds)Killing a Jedi Knight:this is pretty difficult unlike what people on those cheat code websites where they tell you to land on them which is just to easy when you take down a jedi you want to be proud of it not just go oops and be done with it,now this works only about three fourths of the time the other quarter the jedi gets super angry and hits you twice as much as it takes them to kill you.now first of all your going to need full ammo on everything, and also you need to think of a way to get away if things go south, next you'll need to find a vehicle to soften him up,then you get out and start shooting him and throw gernades at him and then start shooting him again, your probably going to need to start locking on to him now and jump to the side then just keep shooting until you run low on ammo then find some poor enemy guy shoot him and take his ammo pickup then go back to mister jedi knight, now keep doing this until he falls down and don't get back up,you've now become a master soldier and are able to use this to kill jedis at will(if you remember how to do this).well that's all I've got to say for this game.

Awesome game!!!

If you are a true Star Wars fan, you should buy this game. Battlefront is one of the best Star Wars game they ever made. The graphics are awesome, and you get to be a variety of characters. You also get to fight on all the battlefields from the movie like Hoth Echo Base. After a long while though this game can get a little bit boring, but other than that this is a great Star Wars title. Buy this game!!!

The Good, the Bad and the Dark Side

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 0 / 0

The Good:

Hey--it's Star Wars! Very cool to play in terrains from the films. And there's something both beautiful and ominous about turning around to see a gigantic AT-AT walker, silouetted in the sun, bearing down on you. The aiming and firing controls are top-notch and when you aim right you hit (none of the horrendous "I'm shooting but not hitting him" problem that plagues Socom 2). A little icon pops up when lag sets in, allowing you to re-think your strategy. And the vehicles are cool (but require some skill to fly). The awards given out at the end of each round are a nice touch and add a sense of humor (maybe on par with the terrorist chef in Zipper's game). The gameplay is fast--much more of an adrenalin rush than Socom. Like Dodgeball with Blasters.

The Bad:

Clans don't exist. And there's really only one game--a "Domination"-type game which has the serious potential of getting old really soon. The game is much, much more in the vein of "Unreal Tournament" and "Tribes: Arial Assault" than it is "Socom 2". It's worth noting, by the way, that those games are three years or more old already. Gamers today expect more sophisticated stuff. The "open mike" concept may work for chat rooms and cocktail parties, but hardly anyone is using it here (it smells like a gimmick) and more times than not you wind up hearing the sounds of some anonymous player chomping on his crackers while he/she's playing.

The Dark Side:

When I first posted this review I spoke at length about the problem with the sparse number of available servers. I promsied that if things changed I would retract my statements. Well, the folks at Gamespy or Lucasarts heard (I'm hoping) this common complaint and responded. Tonight there were many, many servers from which to choose and logging into the game was a breeze. I've edited my post here as promised.

So what, then, is the game's Dark Side? Well, with the server problem fixed there really isn't a dark side. Obviously I've made a lot of comparisons to "Socom 2". But I came to realize that Socom 2 and Battlefront are really two different games. Apples and oranges. They both serve different purposes in the online gaming world.

Don't expect "Star Wars: Socom". It's not, will never be and isn't intended to be. Likewise, if you like Battlefront and are thinking about trying Socom, you'll soon realize what I mean here.

Will it appeal to all of the Socom loyalists? Well, tonight (Thursday, 09/23) the Socom servers were at half their capacity. That hasn't happened in months-- if ever. In other words, roughly 15,000 people went somewhere. Yeah--probably to Battlefront. Will they stay with Battlefront?

Only the Force knows...
