A REALLY good game

This game is one of my favourite games I've played. I found myself liking it so much that Right after I beat it I played it again! If you want a really good game where there is both lots of shooting and lots of puzzles (wow, your brain actually gets to think!) then this game is for you. There are about 6 guns in this game some which have secondary attacks (machine gun that throws grenades, etc.) and other weapons such as crowbars, hand grenades, detpacks, and others. This game is beautifully handled too. You will never lose the story line. Unlike some games where you are assigned to shoot everything in your way for 160 levels, in this game you have good guys (scietists, security guards) and bad guys (military "clean-up" team, monsters). This game is truly wonderful. Long, challenging, "slightly" gory, and fun!

Best first-person shooter, yet low requirements

I got this game for Christmas, and I have been playing it non-stop since. This game is so realistic. A lot of first person shooters like to turn the hallway into a an intricate maze to confuse you. Although you may get lost on half life, the game takes place in a realistic building. It is not a maze. The plot and AI is hauntingly intelligent.

I guarantee that this game will have you glued to your seat just to see what happens next.

I have a labtop, so there is not a lot of video card memory. This game does not require it though. This game does not depend on the graphics to make the game. The graphics are sufficient, but do not distract from the gameplay as some games do.

This is a can't lose buy if you like first person shooters in the LEAST bit. If you do, you will LOVE this game! There is a reason that it has so many honors!

Is'nt this just Generations with CS?

I brought HL:Generations the day it came out - I love it. I have also been playing CS (an included Modification) for about 2 years. This seems like a good product if you are starting out from scratch. But I would really recommend just buying Generations and getting CS of some kind of cover disk. By the time you buy this game - you'll have to patch it anyway. The biggist dissappointment is that it does NOT include the 3ed installment to the story, Blue Shift - This sees you playing as one of the Police officers named "Barnny".

Very good multi-player game for the PC and online.

The Half-Life Series has been a very good multi-player game for online gamers. As i found out myself, it is the best time i have online with this game. If you are into online multi-player genre, then half-life platinum is the game for you.

Even 4 years after it's highly anticipated release, Half-Life still stands as the greatest action game of all-time. It's unbelievable gameplay, explosive action, and storyline has not grown old in the slightest. Yes, it's graphics are outdated by many of the games today but no other game has since come close to the entertainment value of Half-Life. Great weapons, excellent plot, incredably frightning enemies, superb level designs, remarkable character interaction and all the fast paced violence you could ask for. Buy it and you will not regret it. Check out other great action titles such as Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3: Arena, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2 and Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt.

Do not buy this game.

This game was programmed by Valve and published by Sierra. It has allowed and continues to allow players to cheat, see through walls, autoaim, and do other things they should never be able to do while playing multiplayer. Neither of these companies will take responsibility and it has been years since these cheats were discovered. Just know that if you buy this game you're supporting a couple of irresponsible companies. My two cents. You've been warned.

Great game, waste of cash

Only uninformed people would ever buy the platinum edition of halflife. HalfLife is arguably the greatest PC Game of ALL TIME. It was the most innovational game ever to be released and every sing FPS out now is in some way influenced by it. However, counterstrike, team fortress, and about 150 other mods (or special multiplayer only games based on the halflife engine) can be downloaded 100% legally for free on there websites. Opposing forces was another good game but then again, it alone is not worth the money for the platinum edition. My suggestion? Go and buy the original HalfLife for under ten dollars and then go and buy Halflife Blue Shift. Blue Shift includes a new mission, blueshift (not included in platinum edition) as well as opposing force. It is a much better way to spend your money.

WARNING-DO NOT GET THIS GAME! IT HAS POOR GRAPHICS AND A LOT OF BLOOD/GORE ENOUGHT TO MAKE YOU SICK. IT MADE ME SICK!
