The *****BEST***** Game EVER!!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 2 / 4

This has to be the best first person shooter ever. I've tried MOHAA and BF1942 but the characters and the way the game plays is just NOT the same. Single Player is tough (this is for the guy who said he died every 10 seconds) so you have to get good at it before you beat the game. Multiplayer maps are medium/small size and as soon as you jump in the action is waiting for you. BF1942 and MOHAA the maps seem to be too big and if server has low amount of players it takes forever to find someone you can kill. Wolf on the other hand is all action and a team-based game as Lieutenants share ammo, Medics share health packs, Engineers plant dynamite, etc... BUY this game NOW, you won't regret it. I would give it 10 stars if I could. There are literally 100s of custom made maps you can download for single and multiplayer levels too.

awsome

I am 13 which seems to young to play this but most people take me for granted but i will tell you what i think anyways.I am a big fan of Wolf3d but this is way better.I have alot of shooting games but this tops them all.Its awsome the multiplayer is sweet you can play with your friends or foes or someone you dont know but either way its awsome. And single player is hard unless you are good at shooters.Even if your not you'll still love it.If you want to play on my side I am A.K.A Pooface.

What are the most popular (and overused) enemies in video games?

1. zombies
2. nazis

This game gives us both. I wish that a game would try to give us some original enemies instead of constantly going back to the old zombies and nazis. Ok, I know its a WWII game but they should have just left out the zombies. They didn't really seem to fit well in the game anyway.

Problems:

1. I had a problem with the sound during the opening movie sequence of the game. The sound would always break up during this part and I would end up with no sound for the rest of this movie sequence. But then the sound would be back to normal for the regular game. This was just annoying because I didn't know what they were saying during this opening movie.
2. I had heard that the flamethrower was one of the best parts of this game, but I think it [is not good]. I would have to shoot it for a couple of seconds at a guy before he would die, and by the time he did I would have gotten so shot up by him that I would have no health left. It was just too slow. Also, it ran out too fast. And, in the instruction manual it says that the flamethrower works great against zombies, but I never remember even having a flamethrower during the zombie parts.
3. The most annoying part of the game was an attack that the game designers gave to the final boss and also boss1. These bosses would spit ghosts at you, and when these ghosts would hit you, you would not only take alot of damage but you would also not be able to see for a second or two. And, once you were able to see you would almost immediately be hit by another flying ghost and lose sight again. Anytime that I was fighting either of these bosses and I was hit by these flying ghosts (which was most of the time) I would have a few seconds of my vision going in and out and then I was quickly dead. This was the most annoying attack that I have ever seen in any game. When your vision would go out it was nearly impossible to hit the enemy or to try to find cover. And, there would be so many flying ghosts hitting you that after the first one hit it was almost impossible to recover without having to reload your game. I thought that this attack was really disorienting and just frustrating because it didn't even give you an opportunity to retaliate.
4. I thought that the difficulty of the game was too high. What is the point of letting a person chose a difficulty setting if the lowest setting is impossibly difficult? I was playing the game on the lowest difficulty setting and I found it to be absolutely impossible to win the game on even this lowest difficulty. Fighting the nazis was OK and I thought the zombies were challenging but not unbeatable. The first boss was very difficult but not impossible. The problems really started when I got to the x-creatures. The first x-creatures with no legs were unbelievably tough. The instant one saw me it would jump at me at kill me in about 2 seconds even if I had full health and full armor. Even if I blasted the hell out of it with some of my heaviest weapons it seemed to not kill it. I don't get why they made these creatures so much stronger than the nazis. It just doesn't make sense. When I got to the level with the supersoldiers I had to use an invincibility cheat to continue with the rest of the game. I never would have been able to beat the rest of the game against these unstoppable enemies. The game designers made these creatures attacks much too strong. (I was getting killed in 1 second.) They were also too hard to kill. So this is another complaint that I have about the game.

I also had a glitch where some of the time when a grenade or a rocket exploded, I would see a lot of numbers or letters in the explosion. I don't know if everyone had this problem. This was just a small thing that didn't bother me like the other things that I have written about above.

So, I would say not to buy this game since it is impossible to beat without using cheat codes. I thought this game was going to be a lot better than it was. There has to be better games out there to buy rather than this one.

This game has great pretty good single player but has an AWSOME multiplayer with over 15 original maps and over 20 custom maps this game beats almost anyother online game.

A solid re-make with great graphics and above-average game-play that played on my computer bug-free without a single crash. Recommended.

One of the Best Games of 2002

I must admit that I have been watching this game since the word of its development and watching segments on TechTV's Extended Play. This is a wonderful game, great music, some intense action, nice cutscene movies, good storyline, clearly one of the best, especially considering it made Game of the Year. I have played the Demo for RTCW game and loved it, now I own the GOTY edition and love it as well. I have also played Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo and own the full version of that game as well; aside from this I have played the Demo for Medal of Honor Allied Assault my first favorite, now I'm trying to get a copy of MOHAA too. I'm an avid FPS gamer, you will love this game, pick it up today, you won't be disappointed if you're into war type games.

...possibly the most underrated game ever

listen, forget the single player based missions, go out, buy a nice fast computer and a good cable hook up to the internet, after you got that, GET THIS GAME, why may you ask? simple. the single player based game leaves out many teammplay aspects seeing how its just a single person that runs around, even though a vast array of different enemies really keeps you on your toes. as for the multiplayer, this is easily the best aspect of the game, so many programmers have created different types of mods and other things, like shrub mod, bani mod, osp and wolf tactics, that just when you get sick of playing one style of the game, you can move onto another mod, playing online is truely like a brotherhood in this game, portraying yourself as a great player and an easy going attitude will really increase your popularity, but like any game, don't expect to be good at this game in a day, or even a day, or even a month, just when you think you are great, go online an play some of the top ranked players and see where you stand, haha, and then when you really think you're amazing at the game, email me, and i'll get a couple of ppl together to set your feet back on the ground, hehe, anyways happy gaming

This is a [cool] first person shooter!

I first got and played Wolfenstein 3-D for the PC in early 1993 and ever since then NO game has broke my addiction. Until early 2002, when I saw a sequel out for Castle Wolfenstein called Return to Castlw Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein 3-D is still an old game, yet is quite fun and apparently appeals to want to be played. I considered back in 1993 a basic first person shooter with dizzy 3-D interactive first person shooter environment with 256 colors and intense realistic visual effects with sound blasting out of the computer quality effects where you can go around and perform run-n-gun oldskool game-play way beyond the limits of a basic video game. The computer I used to run Wolfenstein 3-D is an old computer from 1993 and wouldn't have Return to Castle Wolfenstein until I got my new computer from 2002, and I tried it. Wow. Return to Castle Wolfenstein features good graphics and awesome weapons with the best bosses ever and quite nice cut-scenes, with massive and fun multiplayer. What moer could I want from a game? Heh heh.

I agree with all the people saying that this is an old school FPS, The Developers were not trying to make a historical game that 4 year olds can play. They tried to make a game that will scare the crud out of you and leave you begging for more. The developers Succeded! I believe this game is and will be a game that will keep people playing for years to come!
A word on Specs

Graphics: Considering that the explosions rock the screen and the Nazis don't look like twins the graphics are great.

Sound and Music: The music moves to where u are in the game. the sound in top notch if you have the right stuff. all in all sound and music is perfect.

Single Play: The Difficulty is moderate and there is no one complaining about the jump out and grab you, and whats around the next corner feeling. The Single Player game is Awesome!

Multi Play: Leaves something to be desired but who wants a MultiPlayer Game but when you have a great FPS staring u in the face.

Great game, but who hasn't said that already!

This is the best game I have ever played. It is funner than Quake (III) becuase you can actually go on MISSIONS with OBJECTIVES. It is a great story, not much of World War II, but it makes more sense than the original Wolfenstein. You get to ride a cable car, kill undead guys who attack you with ghosts, and some fire breathing ones, and much more. But some of the graphics are pretty cheesy becuase when you destroy a painting or flag, it usually just disappears and you don't see anything on the ground! I also hate the damage flash because the scrren turns totally red, instead of only a small amount or large amount, depending on the damage, like in the original Wolfenstein. It's a quite fun game with cheats too. Please buy this game, it's the best. Just make sure you have a smooth computer, and carefully look at the system requirements.
